CHAPTER 66
"You'd have no idea, Sam."
"Don't call me that!" she screamed.
"I'm sorry, but you must understand. You changed your name and began to be deceptive. Rumors began to circulate about how you were sleeping with older men and making so much money as a result.
And then you decided to move out, so we permitted you because we thought it would be better for us, but then you showed up with a large sum of money, strange tattoos, and white hair! That caught us off guard; you were as if you weren't you at all.”
“Why did you have to say those words again after you told me so many times before? Are you trying to make me angry?” she said in a low-toned voice, if she were to yell again, she will draw a lot of attention.
"I'm sorry; I just wanted to be clear."
"You did, and you did it well. I'll respond right away. Whether I joined a cult or a demonic organization, these are my personal issues, so don't try to get any clarifications. Whether you like it or not, this is who I am. To be honest, I am a witch, and I can prove it to you," she admitted as she looked at her.
She could see that her last words frightened her, but she still did it. When she flicked her fingers and a fire appeared at the tip of her fingers.
"You see, I know what you're thinking about me and why you've come here. Suzy must have told you what happened the day she showed up and tried to be a boss where she was not wanted. I told her that I couldn't do much worse than this little fickle of fire on the tips of my fingers. You came here to apologize for Suzy, not for yourself. Do you think I'm a freak for no reason?"
Dylan placed his hand on her arm and said, "Babes, don't."
"Don't worry, I won't do anything," she reassured him, turning to face her former mother, "I won't do her any harm as long as she stays out of my way and doesn't appear in front of me.
You asked for forgiveness, so I forgive you; I will not hold any grudges against you, and I will leave you alone. I don't have time to play with you because I now have someone who loves and cherishes me for who I am and the children to raise.
So, don't worry about what I might do because, like you, I have a Garbera name to protect. Please leave now that we have finished here."
Mrs. Grant stood up and gave her a disgusted look before saying, "I'm sorry for tarnishing your name and making you go through what you did because you took me in as your child."
The woman looked at her in disbelief, but she didn't have time for that, so she summoned Terry and told him to "get a cab for her and send her home."
"Yes, ma'am," Terry replied as he led Mrs. Grant away from her.
When she left, she was hit by a headache and had to hold her head.
“Are you okay?”
“I’m not, I need to calm down,” she said.
Upon hearing that Dylan sent one of the guards to buy some ice cream. Her head really calmed down when she ate it and smiled at Dylan.
“I know what you are going to say so I will reply to you. How can I not know what the love of my life is thinking?” he said, and she smiled.
He really was getting good at this. But he was also stupid if he thinks that she wasn’t aware of what everyone was planning. It was good sometimes to play the dumb part; she was going with the flow and seeing with her own eyes what they had prepared.
"Are you alright?"
"I'm not, and I need to calm down," she admitted.
Dylan dispatched one of the guards to get some ice cream after hearing this. When she ate it and smiled at Dylan, her mind immediately calmed down.
"I know what you're going to say, so I'll respond. How can I not know what my life's love is thinking?" he asked, and she smiled.
He was getting pretty good at it. But he's also a moron if he thinks she wasn't aware of what everyone was up to. It was fun to play the dumb part every now and then; she was just going with the flow and seeing what they had planned.
She couldn't help but plant a simple kiss on Dylan's lips as she remembered her birthday. She wondered how he came up with such a bad idea.
Dylan went to the island to pick up his mother the day before Violet's birthday and their surprise wedding. When he arrived, he discovered that she had already completed the gown, which was one of a kind.
When he finished looking at it, he exclaimed, "you're going to be a famous mother."
"I also made you a tuxedo," she added, pointing to the opposite side.
To match Violet's gown, she had made him a black tuxedo with a red shirt.
"You are the best mother in the world, and I loooove you."
“I know son. Everything is now ready."
"It is, indeed. Did you pack your belongings?"
“Yes, we are free to leave at any time."
"All right, let's go," he said, picking up the bags containing the gown and his tuxedo.
He escorted his mother to the waiting plane. The jet took off once they were all settled. His father's mansion was the first place he went after arriving. His father, like his other mother, was taken aback when he saw her.
He left them to sort things out while he made some phone calls. They shared lunch and reminded them not to be late; the wedding was scheduled to begin in the afternoon, so they should arrive by then.
