CHAPTER THIRTEEN
“I think you should. It’s high time you know where you were born, don’t you think?” Her mother replied her.
“I guess so. Would I get to talk to you anytime soon?”
“Yes you will. I would always be here for you. Go now little wolf”
She ran out the door and woke up to reality. She groaned as she stood up from her bed to get ready for the day. She found out that her brother wasn’t still back yet. She picked up her phone when she saw sixteen missed calls. She saw that it was from Damian. She sighed and grabbed her jacket. She had to check up on him and make sure he was okay. She walked out the door and got into one of the cars. She wasn’t willing to speed her way through today. She didn’t have the energy for that. She got to his house and knocked on the door. She didn’t get a reply. She couldn’t go in and she knew. He had not put the house in her name. She called Justin. He picked up immediately.
“Hey, Good morning, what’s going on?” He asked.
“Hey, Good morning. I am so sorry that I am calling so early but I really need to get to Damian and I can’t go into the house because he’s not answering the door bell. Can you let me in?”
“I don’t need to. Damian already put the house in your name so you can go in as you wish”
“Are you sure?”
“Yeah, try it and if you die in the process, you would wake up. It’s that easy”
“No it’s not!” She screamed at him.
“Fine, I’m just kidding. He put the house in your name. Also, I wouldn’t be coming back there. I would be going to Cordina from here. Can you tell Damian that for me? I’ve been trying to reach him since last night but I can’t get through. It’s probably the connection here”
“Alright, I would. Stay safe!” Anna said to him
“I would try to” He said back as he hung up.
She took a deep breath and walked into the house. Nothing happy, she sighed. She ran up to his room and opened the door. She met him on his bed. She ran to him, thinking he was dead. She found out that he was just asleep. Why had he called her so many times then? How bad was he hurt? Did he hate her now? Was he calling her to tell her that he didn’t want to see her again? So many questions ran through her head. She took off his shoes and his socks. She took of his jacket and covered him up. She decided to put his entire room in order when she stumbled across a diary. That was open on his study table. She cleared the room and then became bored so she settled to read it. She saw how hurt he was. He groaned as he turned. She shut the book and left it there. She went to his bed and sat beside him.
“Hey, How are you?” She asked.
“Hey, why are you here? Do you need something?” He asked back.
She could tell he was still hurt and maybe even mad at her. He probably had a lot to say to her but he was holding it in so he wouldn’t hurt her the same way she had hurt him. He looked away and tried to stand up but he couldn’t. He had this splitting headache and he wondered how much he had to drink the night before. She looked at him.
“Do you need me to get anything for you?” she asked.
“No, I’m good. Thanks. Why are you here?”
“Well, you called me Sixteen times and I was wondering why you would do that over night so I decided to come check up on you”
“That was probably butt dial” he said, lying. He remembered clearly when he called her. He wanted her to come over and spend the night with him. He wanted to show her how he really felt. He wanted to kiss, caress and maybe even sleep with her.
“Do you want to talk?”
“Talk about?” he asked
“I don’t know, whatever is making you drink heavily” she said.
“Annabelle, there is nothing to talk about. I apologize for the calls. I am fine now and you really didn’t have to go through the trouble of coming down here to make sure I was okay. I am a hybrid. I don’t think I would go down that easy” Damian said
“Alright then. If that’s the case, I would head back home. If you need anything…”
“I know where to find it. Thanks!” he said to her
He knew he was hurting her but he didn’t mind. He was hurt too. He watched her stand up and walk out the door. His heart was begging him to stop her and hug her but his mind was not in support of that action. His mind was dead against him ever speaking to her again. He dropped on his bed and closed his eyes. Hopefully, time would fix this, just like it fixes all problems. He called his mother later in the day to tell her that he would be coming back to Cordina the next week. His mother was elated to have him back home. She told him she would leave his room waiting for his arrival. He texted Alex who said he and Arielle were going to Cordina with him. He didn’t know about Annabelle, not yet. He decided to talk to her about it. She didn’t have to come because he wanted her too. It was her decision to come to Cordina. If she wanted to come, then it was her choice, not his. He stared at her picture and he didn’t know what to do about her. Should he give her a call and talk to her or should he just let her go and be happy with her new boyfriend? Should he remove the boyfriend from the picture? He thought.
He decides to drop over in the evening to talk to her. Evening came faster than he expected. He got dressed in something casual and he left his house for hers. He decided to drive there. He got to the door and rang the door bell. She opened the door and almost ran into him.
“Hi, I wasn’t expecting you here. What’s wrong?” she asked
“Are you busy? I can always come back.”
“No, I’m not. Come in, that’s if you want to”
“I am not planning on staying long. I just wanted to tell Alex that I’d be leaving for Cordina by next week Friday”
“I didn’t know you were leaving so soon”
“My mom wants me home as soon as possible and she wants to see Alex again”
“He is not home but I’d tell him when he gets back or you could just text him”
“I will do just that, thank you. I should go”
“Yeah” she said.
She was about to close the door in his face when he held it. He didn’t want to leave. He wasn’t ready to leave. He couldn’t go in without invitation but he pulled her out and kissed her. He had one hand on her waist and the other on her face. He kissed her softly applying just the right pressure. She didn’t want him to stop. There was no way he didn’t want her around him. He wanted her, all of her. She tiptoed, trying to match his height but failing woefully. He lifted her off her feet, still kissing her. He let her down slowly and let her go.
“You should really come in” she said and he did
“I want you in Cordina. I don’t care what your boyfriend says. I want you with me. If your boyfriend isn’t cool with it, he can get another girlfriend”
“You really have to stop calling Caleb my boyfriend. He is not my boyfriend”
“So his name is Caleb “
“Yes, and if you had probably given me the opportunity to explain, I would have followed you to Cordina but no, you decided to stay mad at me for days and then call me and day it was a pocket dial”
“Ok, you know it’s not a pocket dial and I’m really sorry I got that mad. I was hurt. I thought you were with him and for some reasons, it hurt like hell. I don’t want you with anybody but me”
“Maybe, just maybe we could work out. I don’t think Alex would be in support of us though”
“Alex is the least of my concern”
“And your father? What if it comes down to choosing either of us?”
“I would stand by you. Nothing, not even my father would come between us, I promise. You know what?”
“What?” she asked
“Get dressed. There is someplace I need to take you to”
