Chapter Seventeen

His mother sighed. She knew he was angry. She knew she should have told him earlier but if she did, he would have stopped school and he would have come home just to scream at his father and they would probably get in an argument which might not end well.

“Let me talk to him” Anna said as she stood up from the table and headed towards the direction that Damian had gone

She walked round and found herself in a garden. She saw him sitting on the grass all by himself. She walked towards him and sat beside him

“You know you can’t kick her out like that. She has nowhere to go and this family is the only family she has left”
“No it’s not. My mom is not her mom and I am in no way her brother. I don’t care if she has nowhere to stay Annabelle! She is in the wrong house and she is nor permitted to stay here!”
“She is your half sister Damian! You can’t just throw her out!”
“I can!”
“You shouldn’t! Just wait till your dad gets back and maybe you can carry out all of this anger on him. She’s my age mate Damian. She’s just nineteen. Where do you want a nineteen year old to go?”
“As I said, I do not care in anyway!”
“You should! You’re being unfair to her and to your mom!”
“My mom? You don’t know anything about her!”
“I know she has been taking care of Sally for almost three months now! I know she can’t push Sally out of the house and know this reaction of yours is hurting her”
“What choice do I have?” Damian looked at her, asking her.
“Just stay calm and let your dad come back to explain what this mess is really all about. I would tell Sally that she doesn’t have to move out of the house” Anna said as she stood up from the grass and headed inside the house

Damian sighed and he watched her leave. A sister? He was used to being the only child and he was fine with that. His mother had tried to have another child but she couldn’t. Damian thought it was normal since he was the hybrid and a family wasn’t supposed to have two hybrids but Anna’s did. She was a hybrid and so was her brother. Sally wasn’t a wolf and it was obvious. She had the same vampire scent as his dad and Damian wasn’t sure if he was willing and ready to accommodate all that. He laid back on the grass and looked up to the sky. His father was one big truck load of disappointments.

“She is your half sister Damian!” Anna’s voice rang in his head

He turned to lay on his side when he saw her Odette. She was around. She waved at him from the second house and he smiled back at her. He and Odette were friends for as long as he could remember. She smiled back at him and went back into the house. He knew she was probably going to drop by later on in the day or tomorrow morning. He got up and walked into the house.

She walked back to the dining table. She noticed that Sally had left the table

“Where is she?” she asked
“Apparently, she walked out and decided to pack her things because your boyfriend asked her to”
“And you let her?” Anna asked his mother

She saw the helpless look on her face and she sighed. She did have to put up with Damian’s nasty attitude. She walked towards the bedrooms and asked a maid for Sally’s room. The maid pointed to the last room on the right and Anna headed there. She knocked lightly. She didn’t get a reply. She opened the door and saw her packing her things

“What are you doing?” Anna asked
“What does it look like? Your boyfriend doesn’t want me here and I am not going to beg to stay in my father’s house!”
“Well, it is not your father’s house. It is actually his mom’s house and you don’t have to go. I have talked to him already. He grew up without a sibling. Having a step sister might be a lot to handle for him. He would come around pretty soon”
“Are you just like him?”
“Just like him? Nope, I definitely don’t get angry that way and I don’t lash out. Okay, maybe I do but then it’s not that bad”
“You know that is not what I meant!”
“Maybe. You’re asking if I’m an hybrid. Yes, u am”
“I thought he was the only one”
“Well, he is not. We aren’t do much either”
“Why did you talk to him? What’s your interest in me?”
“I have none. I just don’t think it’s fair for him to throw you out like that. He shouldn’t be angry at you. He should be angry at his dad. He took out all that anger on you and it made no sense to me. That was why I talked to him”
“Do you think he hates me? Should I be scared of him?”
“I don’t think he hates you. He is not even capable of hating anything really and you don’t have to be scared of him. He wouldn’t hurt you”
“Not according to the stories I heard”
“Those were stories. Damian is not as ruthless as they paint him to be and he is your brother. You should really not believe those horrible stuffs you hear about him. You should get to know him first”
“He is not giving me a chance to get to know him”
“He wouldn’t, not at first. He never does. This is a lot to take in, really. You are asking him to change a lot. You are asking him for a total adjustment. It is difficult to ask from anybody. You just have to give him time. No kid would want to hear that his father is a cheating husband. It’s hard for him”

She said as she paused to listen. She turned her head slowly

“Your dad is back!” she said
“If he was, I’d know!” Sally replied her
“Trust me, he is and it’s about to get bad!” she said as she walked out of Sally’s room

Sally followed closely behind her. They met Damian in the hall way

“Anna, go to my room and stay there until I tell you to come out!” he said
“But babe?”
“Listen to me! Stay in my room. I can be a monster when necessary and I don’t ever want you to see that side of me, please just stay there!”

He said as he sped off to the living room and saw his father. His mother was seated on the chair while his father ordered everybody around. It was sickening to watch, even for him! He walked up to his dad

“This house has been peaceful until you came in!”
“And the spoilt brat his home!”
“Don’t talk to him like that!” his mother said
“I wasn’t talking to you! I will talk to him the way I want to talk to him! He is my son!”
“At least I didn’t have a child outside the marriage” his mother said
His father’s eyes turned black
“Lay a finger on her and I will remove it from your body!” Damian said
That stopped his father right in his tracks
“You keep forgetting dear father that I am a hybrid and therefore, my venom can still kill you. I advice that you cooperate and sit the hell down so we can talk!” Damian said
“There is nothing to talk about! She is my daughter just like you are my son! She is here to stay and nobody is changing that!”
“And how many more children exactly do you have outside this marriage?” Damian asked his father
“I will not stand my and let you disrespect me!” his father said
“Disrespect you? You already lost my respect. For nineteen years, you lied to me and to mom! Makes me wonder what else you are lying about right now!”
“I would advice you watch your tongue, going child!”
“Or else what?”

Those words were barely out of Damian’s mouth when his father threw a dagger right at him. It went into his chest

“Phillip” his mother screamed at him
Anna left the room after she felt the pain of a dagger go through her chest. She sped to the living room and stood in front of Damian’s temporarily dead body. She stood in between Phillip and Damian
“So we do have visitors!” Phillip said
“Take one more step closer and I will kill you” Anna said

He looked into her eyes and all he saw was pure hatred. Damian might have hesitated to kill his father because of the love he had for him but Anna wasn’t going to make that mistake. She was looking for the perfect opportunity to kill him and she sure hoped he stepped out of line.
