Chapter Sixty Five

“I slept off? That’s crazy. I guess we had a hard time yesterday” Alex said
“We definitely had a rough day yesterday. How are you and how was your rest?” Grace asked
“Doesn’t matter. What is the update?” Alex asked her
“Damian is awake, back on his feet. Phillip didn’t drain him dry so the remaining energy was used to recuperate and regenerate his strength. He should be back at full strength by noon but there is a bad news” Grace said
“There always has to be a bad news. What is it?” Alex asked
“It is your sister. She needs all the attention she can possibly get because I don’t think she would last the next seven days of we don’t do something about it” Grace said
“Where is Damian?” Alex asked her
“He still thinks that there is another way to go about this. He thinks that his venom is not the only way. He doesn’t want to risk it” Grace said
“He must be out of his mind! Where the hell he is?” he asked her
“The study” she said to him

He got up and threw his robe around his back and slipped his arms into it before heading into the study. He opened the doors without knocking and he saw Damian behind the desk

“I can see that you’re up now” Damian said to him
“You think? You’re welcome!” Alex said to him
“I don’t understand” Damian said
“You don’t understand? I literally told you that it was a terrible idea to go after Phillip and you still did. Grace and I had to come for you or else you would have been someone’s eternal source of power. You put everybody’s life at risk without even thinking and now Phillip has magic because of you! He has magic just because you walked into his trap and you still couldn’t get Isabelle’s mother back! Now you wouldn’t help Anna!” Alex screamed at him
“That is why you’re here. You are here because of your sister” Damian said
“Grace said that with the way she is going, she wouldn’t last seven days. While you were out, your father…”
“He is not my father!” Damian said to him
“I don’t care! He said that the only way we would ever stand a chance of defeating him is if Anna fights with us. You can’t even kill him, only Anna can! If you don’t save her, Cordina will fall! Your pride is holding you back! Is your pride more important to you than her life is?” he asked him
“You think this is pride? You think I would pick my pride over the love of my life? Are you crazy? How insane do you think I am? I can’t live with the guilt that my venom killed her! I just can’t do that! How do you any me to survive?” Damian screamed at him
“How would you survive with the guilt of not doing anything at all to save her? Maybe you should think about that before you decide not to give her your venom! In the meantime, while you decide on whether she lives or dies, I am going back to your dumb ass father to find a cure for my sister! She is the only family I have left and I will not lose her because you are scared of the future! I wouldn’t not lose my sister this way!” Alex screamed back
“Enough already! Don’t you think it is too early to be yelling at each other? Can you both speak like adults for one without screaming at each other?” Justin said as he walked in
“Talk to your best friend! If my sister dies, I would hate him for the rest of my life and he can forget about me living in Cordina or being the general of his army. I am done with all of it if Anna dies!” Alex said to Justin and he walked out of the study

Justin sighed before turning to look at Damian. He took a seat and Damian rubbed his forehead

“Why won’t you do it?” Justin asked him
“Do what?” Damian asked
“Don’t try to act stupid. You know exactly what I am talking about. Why won’t you give Anna your venom? Why won’t you? Don’t give me the crap that you have been giving everybody. I don’t care about what you tell them because the both of us know that it is not the real reason why you are not giving her your venom. So what exactly is going on with you, Damian?” Justin asked him
“When I stupidly walked into Phillip’s trap, he told me that I couldn’t save her. He said he saw into my future and if I tried to save her, I would only kill her. I know what you are going to say that it is crazy for me to believe him but he was my father and he wasn’t lying. He was telling the truth, Justin. I am her undoing. If I do this, she wouldn’t survive it and I know it. That is why I have been stalling. I know how this ends. There had to be another way” he said to Justin
“Okay. Let’s say there is a possible world where I believe you that there is another way, do we have the time to look for another way? What the hell, Damian? You have defined all odds. You have rearranged your fate and destiny with you own hands and you suddenly can’t do it this time? I have walked into your mind, not once, not twice. I know you better than anybody else in this house and you think Phillip knows you better than you know yourself? C’mon, this is just crazy. Let’s say he did see your future and all of that, but Alex was right, he is right. Can you live with the guilt that you let her die and didn’t give her a solution?” Justin said to him

Damian looked at him and rubbed his temples. He was stressed, tired and breaking down at the same time. He wanted all of it to go away. He was about to speak when Grace walked into the room. She had tears in her eyes

“What’s going on?” Damian asked
“She is dying. I don’t think she would last an hour. The magic has don’t too much damage and she can’t breathe on her own. My magic is helping right now but I don’t know how much longer my magic can sustain her. She is deteriorating faster than before. I can’t guarantee her living by the next hour” Grace said

Damian sped to Anna’s room and sat on her bed beside her. She opened her eyes and she looked like she was far from him. She looked so weak and tired. She smiled and he kissed her hand. Tears welled up in his eyes. He had avoided her room since he woke up because he couldn’t stand seeing her in so much pain and now she was dying. She was leaving him

“Hey, don’t do that. Don’t cry. I was going to die someday” she said weakly
“No, don’t say that. I am not going to let you die! I would not let you go this way. I would find a way. I am not going to let you go, I did that once, twice maybe but I am done with that. You have to promise me one thing, you would fight for me. You would fight for us. You would not give up on life here no matter how painful it gets. I would be waiting here for you” he said to her

Alex sped into the room and his eyes glowed with anger. He didn’t understand why he was so upset but Damian didn’t care. Damian walked out of the room and yelled Grace. She stood before him like she was being summoned

“How can we get my venom out of me?” he asked her
“I need your venom with no trace of hate or anger or worry. It weakens the potential of the venom. I was going to let Sally do it her way. Get a needle and all of that but I don’t have that time so I am going to use magic and trust me, this is going to hurt” Grace said to him
“That is fine with me, just make sure you don’t stop for anything. Promise me that you wouldn’t stop for anything!” Damian said to her

She nodded at him before she stretched her hand to him and Damian fell to the ground, screaming in pain and holding his head. Alex ran to him and tried to hold him

“No! Don’t touch him. He has to go through this. It is the only way!” Grace yelled at him
“What only way? Find another damn way! You are killing him!” Alex said to her
“You want your sister alive or not?” Grace yelled back
“I do but I am not willing to trade Damian’s life for hers. I have tried this before and it didn’t work out so well! Let him go!” Alex said as his eyes glowed and his fangs came out
“I can’t! He made me promise that nobody would make me stop” Grace said
“I would remove you hand from your body if you don’t stop now!” Alex yelled at her
“I can’t. You can try to stop me but it would only prolong a process that should be done quickly. I am not going to stop even if Phillip was attacking because this, what I am doing here, it is the only way!” Grace said to him

Alex sped to her and she waved her other hand in the air, snapping his neck and leaving him unconscious. She turned to Damian and his venom started to seep out of his fangs. She kept it floating in the air. She was almost done when Justin, Sally and Raphael walked into the room

“Damn, guess we have to do this the hard way” Grace said to herself
