Chapter Sixty Two

He hugged her back and kisses her forehead, grateful that she was there. He went out with her end stood on the platform. He noticed that the crowd wasn’t as plenty as it used to be. He guessed that they were either busy packing to leave Cordina or they had left. That have him some kind of relief.

“Good day , great people of Cordina. I doubt if it is already seventy two hours since our last meeting but I had to see you all to talk to you. I have promised to keep you updated as long as you remain in this city but I am sorry to inform you that I need everybody out of this place in the next twenty four hours. Our enemy had stepped up his game. He has performed a ritual that has not only turned him into a walking breathing demon but has taken out his humanity completely. He used his own son for the ritual and we are doing all we can to get Damian back on his feet but right now, Damian is out cold and we are fighting for his life. We have a feeling that Phillip might bring the war to us very soon and we all know that he has no regard for human life and he would destroy anything in his path. Due to the fact that he is no longer human and he is now a different being, he would need to feed to sustain his power and strength. We already took his main source of strength and power and that is Damian and he knows that it will be a very difficult task to find another hybrid that is strong enough to feed on because I am the only one left. Phillip knows this like I said and he would be looking for other alternatives. He would start to feed on wolves and vampires and it they are not enough, he would start to feed on the souls of humans. We have a prophecy that only one person can kill this beast and that one person is my sister but she would need all the help she can get and that is why we have decided to have an intensive training for every warrior of Cordina from tomorrow morning until the war is brought to our doors. We don’t know how much time we have left and that is why we need everybody to get to safety before Phillip comes here. We are pleading with you to leave as soon as possible because we don’t have an idea about when Phillip would come here but we know that he would be here soon. He is at his strongest now and that is because of the ritual. It would only be wise for him to attack when he is at his strongest and when our hero is at her weakest” he said
“What is happening to Anna?” someone screamed from the crowd

Alex looked at Justin in the corner and Justin nodded to him to go ahead and tell them because there was no point in lying to them and keeping the truth from them, not anymore

“She was poisoned witch magic. Apparently, it is keeping her alive and it is killing her and I know you have questions because she is supposed to be healing very fast but she is not. Whatever magic was infused in her body, it has taken away all her extra abilities and we are hoping that with Damian’s venom, she would be back to herself and her healing would kick in. We think that Damian’s venom would kick start her own venom and she would start to heal up. Yes, it is a very risky procedure and it is a may or may not situation. This means that the venom can either heal her or kill her but this is the only choice we’ve got and we are willing to risk it to protect Cordina. Damian is currently unconscious now because of what his father put him through but he would be fine very soon and we would be able to communicate with him. I know it looks like all hope is lost and we have no way of winning this fight but we wouldn’t stop until we have tried every way under the sun to win this and put down Phillip once and for all and we will! We either win or we die trying. We would not give up until all this is over but this is our fight, not yours so we need you to get to safety so you don’t become human sacrifices” Alex said
“Long live the great Cordina!” someone screamed from the crowd
“Long live the great Cordina!” everybody echoed, Alex included

He smiled at them as the crowd dispersed. Sally and Justin walked up to him with Beth

“This might sound crazy but you will make a great king” Justin said to him
“You always know what to say to them. I wonder how you can think through all of the pressure and everything. It is not a burden I can handle” Sally said to him
“Well, you have been handling Anna really well and you have taken good care of her. You have been the peace when everybody was at each other’s throats, almost ripping each other apart” Alex said to her
“All of you have been sources of strength to each other and that is what we need right now. We need to stay together now more than ever. It is the only way we stand a chance in all of this insanity” Beth said

Sally nodded to her and they were about to leave when they heard a scream. Alex looked out and saw Philip, standing right in the courtyard. He turned around and found Grace standing right there. She looked outside and saw Phillip standing there

“We need a plan and we need one fast!” Raphael said, running down from the stairs.
“I have one. The rest of you stay here and you protect Damian and Anna. I will handle him” Grace said
“That is crazy. It is funny that you think I would let you face Phillip on your own. Are you crazy? He would kill you before you even get close to him!” Alex said to her
“What choice do we have? He is born of magic and only magic can cause him pain, nothing else!” She said to him
“He was born of magic, yes but he is also a vampire. He was a vampire first before he became a demon. I can’t let you go out there alone. We either go together or we don’t go at all!” Alex said
“If you don’t stay here, Anna would not be safe!” Grace said
“I can stay here, I can protect your sister. Sally can handle Damian’s protection. Besides, you have guards stationed at their doors. We can hold them off!” Beth said to him
“You know that he can die if he goes out there, right?” Grace said to him
“I don’t plan on killing Phillip and I don’t plan on dying. We can just stall him and make him weak. None of us can kill him. We know this and he knows this too and that is why he is here because the only person that can kill him is in her bed, dying. He came here to finish the job and we can’t let him do that” Alex said
“So what is the plan, General?” Justin asked
“Sally and Beth, you both stay here. Phillip didn’t come alone and his army would be here to finish the job. Phillip would come here to finish the job, u just know it but we have to keep him as far from the house as possible. We can’t let him get anywhere close to Damian or Anna! We have to keep him as far as possible. The house would be under attack soon. Raphael and Justin. I need you in the courtyard. That is where you would fight off the army. I don’t expect you to hold back an entire army but you would do a lot of good here with a few guards. The ones that manage to make it into the house, Beth and Sally would take care of them. Grace and I would face Phillip together” Alex said
“Since you insist on going on with this insanity, I would give you a fragment of my power. It would help you make meaningful damage to Phillip. With your speed and venom, you should be able to do some damage to him. Are you ready?” Grace said as she lifted herself off the ground with her powers

Alex nodded at her and sped off. She followed him and Justin and Raphael headed to the courtyard while Beth and Sally went to Damian’s and Anna’s room. Sally had help and she pulled Damian’s bed into Anna’s room.

“What are you doing?” Beth asked her
“What does it look like? I am putting them in the same room. We have a chance at this if we fight together. That way, they don’t get to Anna and Damian” Sally said
“Look out!” Beth said

She grabbed the hand of one of Phillip guards that crept in and pulled him away from her before removing his arm from his body. She turned him and snapped his neck before dropping his dead body on the floor. She took a deep breath and looked at Sally

“Damn, that was bad ass and how come they are in the house so soon?” Sally asked
