CHAPTER THIRTY THREE

“Apparently, your dad took her and left a note. I took a picture and I would forward it to you now” he said

Damian felt his phone beeped and he opened the text. He saw the note and his heart started to race. Earlier, he had seen blood stains on his father’s hand and he had asked him about it. His father had told him that it was his feeding that went wrong. What is that wasn’t his feeling? What if that was Anna’s blood? His mind kept racing around

“Damian! Are you still there?” Justin asked
“I am. How is she? Have you heard from her? What else did you find in her room?” he asked
“I don’t know, does that even matter now?” Justin asked
“Justin, Annabelle is missing. Every little detail matters. If my dad took her then every detail matters. You don’t know what my father is capable off!” Damian said
“You should have thought of that before letting him go! What if this is the consequence of that action? What if he kills her because when we went into her room, there was blood all over the place and something tells me that the blood is not your father’s. It is Anna’s because if your dad was injured, he would be no match for an hybrid but if it is Anna that was hurt, it would be easy to carry her or abduct her” he said
“I’m on my way home. Tell my mother to gather five of her strongest men. I am going after Annabelle” Damian said
“You are coming home tonight? It is almost midnight. How can you get here this night?” Justin asked him
“I don’t care if it is raining fire and brimstone. I can’t let my father take Annabelle. I don’t know what he would do to her and I don’t want to imagine what he could possibly be doing to her if she is injured. I am on my way now” he said

He hung up and got his bags. He packed up all his clothes before heading to his car and driving into the thick darkness. He drove with speed since the road was empty. He was back in Cordina within the next hour. He drove straight to his mother’s house and got there an hour after he entered Cordina. He opened the door and met Alex in the living room. He looked worried as hell. Alex got up and he hugged Damian, certain that the news must have had him in disarray. Damian looked at his sister and then looked at Arielle. He could tell that they were all worried. A part of him felt guilty for leaving again. If he was still there, she would have been safe. He was angry at her, yes but he wanted her safe. He always wanted her to be safe. He needed her to be fine because he loved her more than anything in the world and everything he ever did was just for her. Everything he did was because of her. He knew that staying wasn’t the way to get the issue solved so he left. He helped his father escape so Anna wouldn’t do something stupid and start to regret it. Everything he did was because he loved her.

He went up to her room and saw that it was clean. He didn’t understand. He thought Justin said there was blood over the place. Was this a prank? Some sick joke? He turned and was about to start venting when he saw Sally leaning against the door. He didn’t need to ask his question. She already knew exactly what he was going to ask

“No, it is not some sick joke. She never used this room. Unlike you, she still missed what you had so she slept in your room. She said it made her feel closer to you. You left again Damian and this was what happened” Sally said
“I would find her. I would not rest until she is safe and back home” he said
“You know, if you didn’t leave, you wouldn’t need to look for her now. Damian, you don’t get it . We don’t know if she’s hurt or dead, even” Sally said
“She is not dead. If she was, I would know, I would feel it. She is not dead!” Damian said
“Then find her. Our father is a psychopath!” she said
“I know! I am aware of who our father is. I have known him longer than you have so don’t remind me of who he is. It would get us no where!” he said as he walked out of the room and headed to his

He got in and saw the blood on the floor. He looked at it closely. He got a pocket knife and cut his wrist. He let it drop on the floor and let it dry

“Are you going to pay for the dry-cleaning?” she asked him
“Just trust me” he said to her
“I am trying to trust you!” she said to him
“Huh, something is wrong. Can you call the rest of the crew?” he asked

She rolled her eyes and headed down to the living room to call them.

“What is wrong? Have you heard anything from her?” Alex asked
“Not yet but look at this” he said, pointing to two patches of blood stains on the floor
“Yes, it’s blood, we all know this. Stop wasting our time!” Sally said
“Would you just quit it?” Damian asked her
“Maybe, maybe not” Sally said
“Hey, it is different” Alex said as he bent down to take a closer look at the blood stains.
“Yes, it is. The first one looks like it is almost black. It’s too dark to be called an ordinary blood”
“That is because it is not ordinary blood. Annabelle is hybrid. We keep forgetting that and it has been there for like almost a day!” Sally said
“It doesn’t matter. The blood of a hybrid remains fresh no matter the time frame given. It looks like it was mixed with magic” Alex said
“Yeah, I mean, how else would your father have been capable of fighting Anna if not with magic?” Justin said
“If he has magic then he has a witch by his side” Damian said to them
“A witch? Dad can’t even pay for his own upkeep. What could he have possibly offered her for her to help him?” Sally asked
“She has a point. Witches never do anything for free. They favors always comes with a price” Arielle asked
“The only reason a witch would help him is if he promised her something in return. It can either be power, money or love” Justin said
“Like he promised my mother and yours. The last thing I need is another sibling being a bitch to me so we either find who this witch is and hope she can lead us to dad or we kill her” Damian said
“Killing her would get us no where!” Alex said
“Witches are not stupid, Alex. If a man promises to get married to them or something, they would link their souls together if we kill her, my dad would feel it and get mad wherever he is” Damian said
“And that can end in two ways. He can either come and check out what is actually going on or he can go ahead with killing Annabelle. I am not taking that risk” Justin said
“Then what do you suggest?” Damian asked
“We start a man hunt for both Annabelle and your father and we find one of them. The longer we debate this, the closer Anna is to her death and I can’t risk that, not anymore” Alex said to him
“I am not about to lose her either. I know where we should start looking for my father. There is this old house he used to take me to” he said, lying to them. “It is pretty big but he had some sort of attachment to that place and I think we should check it out” Damian said
“Well, we can’t do any of that tonight. We have to wait till the sun is up and besides, we all look like we could use some good night really, especially you, Damian” Alex said
“I think I’m fine. I can’t sleep till I know she’s safe” he said
“You would have to. Your father has people on his side and those people are willing to die for him. We might have to fight our way through to get Annabelle back” Justin said
“Then we do whatever is necessary!” he said to Justin

Justin looked at him and hoped he was going to stand by his words. Ever since he knew Damian, there was nothing he could say other than Damian loved his father and Justin knew that there was something Damian wasn’t saying. He waited for the rest of the house to retire to their rooms before he asked him
