Chapter Fifty Five

“You did great!” Sally said as she looked at him
“Yeah, let’s hope they turn up and leave this place before Phillip stages his final attack. I don’t know if that would be soon or not but we can’t risk any of their lives” Alex said
“Guys?” Grace said

They turned around and saw Grace standing there.

“You are here. Why would you enter Damian’s mind without telling any of us?” Raphael asked
“Because I had to. Scold me later but right now, we have to let Isabelle go!” Grace said
“Over my dead body would I let you do that. She goes nowhere!” Alex said
“You don’t understand. She is the one Phillip is going to use to get to us. She is not Arielle. She is driven by something bigger than Phillip. There is something else driving her” Grace said
“Then we would talk to her instead. I am not letting anybody go. If I am going to let them go, they would have to be dead” Alex said to Grace as he walked out and headed down to the dungeon

“How long to you want to do this? Feels like we have been at this for hours. You can barely touch me. This is a fight you can’t win. Stop trying to win and just give in. You can’t fight Annabelle because she is your weakness. You can’t bring yourself to hurt her because you are in love with her. Love makes you weak. That is what your father has tried to teach you for so many years but you never got the point!” she said to him
“You don’t know anything about Phillip” Damian said as he grunted, trying to get up from the floor”
“I know that he has a valid point. Love makes you weak. Take a look at yourself. You are the ruler of Cordina and you still can’t find a way to defeat Annabelle? That is the most fascinating thing ever. You see, for you to send her back to her body, you have to kill her and you don’t even have the guys to do that because you are so emotionally attached to her. You feel so much love for her that it affects the things you have to do!” she said
“Thank you for that” Damian said to her
“For what?” She asked
“Giving me what I need to take you down once and for all” he said

He looked at her and his eyes grew dark. He sped towards her and ran his fist into her chest. Her eyes went from black to grey

“Damian..” she groaned

He knew that was Annabelle but he couldn’t stop now

“Why are you doing this to me?” she asked weakly
“I love you. I need to do this!” he said as he squeezed her heart tighter

Her eyes glowed and grew dark again. He knew that Annabelle was fighting to gain consciousness of her own mind. He pulled out her heart and she disappeared. The crowd grew dark and he knew that he had separated Annabelle’s consciousness from the spirits grasp and she was gone

“Now, the real fight begins” the spirit said
“I have no plans of fighting you. It is a battle I can’t win and I am willing to accept my defeat but not for long!” Damian said to her

“You can’t go down there now!” Grace said
“Why? Why do you want me to let Isabelle go for no reason?!” Alex yelled at her

She stopped. She was going to reply him but she stopped. She felt an energy enter the house. She looked at him

“What’s wrong?” Alex asked
“Anna, she’s back. I can feel her. That was fast. Alex, you have to put this in Damian’s chest, now! If he wakes up before you do, he would be unstoppable! They are in his bedroom” Grace said as she handed him a dagger

He sped towards Damian’s bedroom and Grace met him there. She called Raphael and Sally on the way and called them along incase they were going to need back up. She wasn’t wrong. Damian was wide awake. He had his hands around Anna’s neck and the look of the devil in his eyes. Justin was on the other side of the room and he was totally unconscious

“I guess you are too late. You lost your focus and you let him wake up” Damian said
“Damian, I know that you’re in there somewhere. I need you to fight and win this. You need to let Anna go” Grace said
“You are wrong. Immediately he kicked Anna out of her body, he gave up without a fight because you were supposed to kill him immediately but all I needed was just one tiny little second to wake him up and I did. You should have paid more attention” Damian said
“I would kill you even if it is the last thing I do” Alex said
“I am not scared of death, little one. I already know my fate. I know that I am going to die but if I die, I need to make my death a meaningful one. So I would leave you with something” Damian said

He turned Annabelle to face them and ran his fist into her spine, paralyzing her totally . She screamed in pain before he tossed her to the other side of the room. She dropped unconscious. Alex’s eyes got filled up with tears immediately. He ran towards Damian and drove the dagger in his chest. He held it there till Damian’s slim grew grey and his eyes closed. He sped towards Anna and looked at her with tears in his eyes. A knock on the door came and he looked towards the door. They all did. A guard came in

“What do you want?” Alex asked without taking his eyes of him
“Somebody is here. She said she needs to see you” he said to Alex
“Tell them to go to hell!” Alex said
“I did but she is not going anywhere. I have held her off for almost two hours now and she is not budging” the guard said
“I would be there in a minute” Sally said to the guard

The guard gave a light bow before leaving. Sally turned to Alex

“Her back is damaged and worse. The spirit knew that she can’t heal up on her own because of some magic in her and we would have to risk using Damian’s venom in the end. That risk is something that can kill her. I think you should just get her on her bed and find a neck support somewhere in town. We have bigger threats ahead and we need every single person on their feet. Grace, you should wake Damian up as soon as you can. We would need his venom and we have to make sure that it is magic free! I would take care of whoever is at the door and Raphael, make sure Alex doesn’t kill anybody, yourself included. Take Justin to his room. I would check on him. I am guessing he was just knocked out. Justin and Damian are linked so I don’t expect him to wake up without Damian waking up but he can. He is probably just knocked out” Sally said

She got up and wiped her tears. She knew better than to break down and cry. If she did, they would not get anything done. She walked towards the living room and saw someone sitting there

“Hey, how can I help you?” Sally asked
“You can’t. I want to see Alex. I know he is here. Tell him that he can’t avoid me for so long any more. Tell him that we have to talk!” She said to Sally
“Look, Alex is nor ready to see anybody. He is not in the mood for a talk so if you just tell me what you want, then I can talk to him for you and maybe get back to you!” Sally said
“Talk to him for me? I want to talk to him myself. Tell him that I wouldn’t leave until I see him!” she said
“Them you might be here till midnight then. I would ask one of the guards to give you a blanket so you don’t catch a cold” Sally said to her
“I don’t mind” she said back
“Who are you by the way? At least he should know your name” Sally said
“Tell him that Beth is here and if he still doesn’t want to speak to me then he can forget about me and what we have” she said
“You can stop screaming. I am standing right here” Alex spoke up

He was on the stairs. He knew that only one person cared enough to check up on him after he went ghost mode and that was her. He turned to Sally and nodded at her

“I can handle this, Sal. You should check on Annabelle and make sure she is okay. I left her in her room and I need her to be fine, please” Alex said
“Yeah, sure. If you need any help, Raphael is on stand by. You just have to call on him” Sal said
