CHAPTER TWENTY FIVE

Damian took her hand and led her back to the room. He closed the door and she walked in and got on the bed. He tucked her in and kissed her forehead, turning off the lights

“Are you leaving?” She asked
“Yeah I am”
“Why?” She asked again
“I don’t want to hurt you again” he said truthfully
“Alex told me what happened. That wasn’t you. You would never hurt me and I know this. I don’t want you to leave me all by myself” she said
“What? Now you’re scared of the dark?” He teased
“Maybe, what if I am? She said
“I would really love to stay with you and be with you but right now, I don’t trust myself. Something took over my body and all it wanted to do was kill you. I swore to protect you from everything and I couldn’t protect you from myself. It kills me to know that you died because of me”
“I died temporarily. You’re nit getting the point. I can’t die and maybe that’s a good thing”
“No babe, you can die! With the right tools, everybody can die and I was going to kill you earlier on and I couldn’t stop myself. I can’t let that happen again because if it does, I will kill myself. I can’t hurt you again and I don’t want to. I til I’m sure that I am a hundred percent me, I don’t think we should be together” he said, regretting every word that came out of his mouth
“What are you saying , Damian?” she asked as she held back her tears
“I’m sorry, I really am but I am breaking up with you, just till I am sure. Once the sun is up, I will be temporarily moving out of the house so you don’t have to see me and when my mind is clear z I will come back to you, I will come back for you. I love you so much, Anna, I do and I hope you understand why I am doing this” he said
“Damian, wait” she said but it was too late

He sped off and left her alone. She wanted to run after him but it was of no use. He had made up his mind and he had made his decision. She decided that she wasn’t going to try to change his mind. By the time the sun was up, he was gone. She poured all her energy into finding her dad with her brother by her side. She had spent two weeks without Damian. He didn’t reach out. He didn’t call or text. He didn’t come home and when she called him, he never picked it up. When she texted, he never replied. He was keeping his distance and he knew how to do that very well. She was very close to finding her dad and she needed Damian to be here with her. She needed to prove to him that she was right about his father and he was wrong. She decided that she was going to reach out and find him, one way or another. She was done for the day and she sat with Damian’s mother.

She wasn’t bothered that her son wasn’t home. She was almost not concerned and anytime Anna brought up the topic of Damian being away, she would say that he would be back sooner or later. She definitely wasn’t going to help in looking for him and Alex wasn’t either. Sally was glad Damian was out of the house because if Phillip and Arielle was supporting her boyfriend. Alex had told her to let Damian be and wait for him to come back ok his own but she needed him here, with her.
After dinner, she headed to her room to get some rest. She got on her bed and closed her eyes. After a few hours of sleep, she felt something on her neck, almost like a pinch. She opened her eyes and saw Phillip. She tried to speak but it was of no use as nothing came out of her mouth. It was almost like she had lost her voice suddenly.

Damian walked in. He needed to see her. He couldn’t spend another day without her and he didn’t want to. He walked into the house and the living room was empty. He wondered why. He felt a pinch on his neck. He touched it and looked at it. There was nothing there. He shrugged and went up to his room. He met the door slightly opened. He felt like he was suffocating. He knew something was wrong. He opened the door and found his dad on his girlfriend. His heart sank. He grabbed his father by his shirt and threw him to the other side of his room. His anger burnt deep and he didn’t stop there. He grabbed him again and threw him down the stairs to the living room.

The noise woke Alex and he sped to the living room. He saw Damian and he could see that his eyes were blood red. He thought it was the spell so he ran for his sister and saw a syringe beside her on he bed. He didn’t understand. Damian ran for his father and Alex got in-between them

“Get out of my way!” Damian screamed at him
“No! You need to calm the hell down!” Alex said to him
“I will not ask you again. Get the hell out of my way Alex” he said
“Damian, you either listen to Alex or you leave this house” he heard his mother say

He looked up at the stairs and saw his mother standing there with Sally. He could see the calmness in her eyes and he took a deep breath

“Just tell him to be gone when the sun comes up because I will kill him if I lay my eyes on him. What the hell? If I hadn’t come home, he would have…” his voice trailed off and he realized that it was his fault.
“Would have what?” his mother asked
“This bastard here drugged Anna with God knows what and I found him on her. I will kill you if I find you in this house by sunrise and I don’t care who comes after me. I will kill every one of them till there is nobody left!” Damian said as he walked out and went to his room

He opened the door and saw Anna there. She laid there lifelessly. He didn’t know what his father had used on her but whatever it was, it was pretty strong. He places his hand on her chest to check if her heart was still beating. It was, but barely. He Decided to stay beside her until she woke up. It was pretty dark and he didn’t bother to check on his father. He found a diary on his bedside and he picked it up. He looked at her and opened it. She had been doing a lot of digging up and it said something about her father being alive. He moved back, he couldn’t believe that her father was alive and she was looking for him.

He wondered why she didn’t inform him about it. He read all he could in the diary before dropping it back to where it was. He read a lot of things and he needed to look into some things but he wanted her to wake up first. That was his priority. The sun was up when he heard a knock on the door.

“Yeah?” he said

His half sister came in. He was starting to despise her now. She was the daughter of his father and he considered his father a beast now.

“What do you want?” he asked rudely
“I want to talk to you” she said
“Talk to me? About what?” He asked
“Dad, Phillip. Whichever you prefer” She said
“Alright, go ahead, I’m listening” she said
“I need him out of my life for good” she said
“That’s funny, I remember you defending him when we first met and now you want to get rid of him? That doesn’t make sense. It doesn’t add up” Damian said
“I know what I did in the beginning but I went back to my mom’s house while you were gone and something wasn’t adding up, something wasn’t making sense. My mom wasn’t sick like your father told me, she was murdered. That night, only one person came into our house and it was him. She was poisoned that night, she didn’t die of a heart attack because she was sick. That was all bullshit” she said
“You think my dad killed your mom?” Damian asked, unsure of what to think
“I don’t think he did, I know he did. That’s two different things Damian” she said
“Your accusations are grave” he said
“I know. I have to prove it and I will I just need a little more time and when I do prove it, I will need help in killing him. I can’t face him on my own” Sally said.
