Chapter Fifty Four

“You have to send me back. You have to send me back, now!” Justin screamed at her
“I can’t do that. You can’t be in his mind for that battle, you can’t fight his every battle for him! Understand that there are some battles that Damian has to fight on how own!” She said to him

He looked at her and tried to get up but he couldn’t. He looked down at his legs

“I am still desecrating!” He said
“That is because Damian has not kicked Annabelle out of his mind. Let’s hope that he does that really soon!” Grace said as she waved her hands in the air and they all disappeared

Alex nodded as he went out and saw everybody gathered there, fight outside the house in the courtyard

“Great people of Cordina. It is to my distaste that we meet on such circumstances but this meeting is to plead with you. You would need to vacate Cordina temporarily. It is just for a short period of time. We all know that Phillip is a major threat to everybody in the city and he has gone as far as devising various means to get Annabelle, my sister. He has been obsessed with my family for a whole now, a very long while and he has stopped at nothing to make sure that they were his! At first, he took my father from my mother with the thoughts that my mother would turn to him for comfort but he was wrong. Instead, my mother took my little sister and fled. This was how we became separated. Phillip knew that my mother fled with my sister, what he did not know is where they had fled to. I was forced to live and survive on my own for a whole until I got reunited with my family but that was however, short lived ad Phillip found my mother and murdered her right in her house in the central. My sister and I came back here because this is our home, we cane back here to seek justice for out dead parents. We thought that Phillip would stop at this point but we were wrong” Alex said

He stopped to scan his environment and he was sure that he had everybody’s attention this time. Everywhere was so silent that if a pin dropped, it would be a very loud noise, heard by everybody in the courtyard. With this attentiveness, he decided to continue with his story

“Phillip and his wild obsession cake after my sister, putting her through a lot. When he saw that he couldn’t take my sister without Damian being around, he separated them and took Annabelle captive for weeks. We couldn’t find her and when we eventually did, she was broken physically and mentally. She couldn’t move on her own. We brought her back to the palace hoping she would get the best medical treatments here and be better in a couple of days but again, we were wrong. We underestimated the ability and zeal Phillip had. Instead, we found out that she was possessed. Phillip had put a spirit in her body and now that spirit wages war on everybody in Cordina. It is no news that Phillip had a lot of people on his side. It is also no news that these people are willing to serve Phillip till their dying breath. This is why I have come to plead with you to please pack up your things and leave Cordina for the main time. Phillip is waging war on us and he doesn’t care about who lives or dies. He would use anybody to get what he wants and anybody that stands in his way would be killed. We already know that Phillip doesn’t only have the vampires or most of the vampires on his side, we also know that he has made some alliances with witches and wolves and he has access to magic now. He wouldn’t stop until he is found and we need to find him. I also know that you are probably wondering why Damian is not here and I an the one addressing this situation” Alex said

The crowd murmured. This showed that they were still listening to him and he nodded to himself

“Damian can’t be here today because he is busy fighting one of the demons that Phillip giftwrapped and sent to us through Annabelle. We are worried about your safety and that is why we are asking you, pleading with you to leave Cordina for a while. It is the only was we can guarantee your safety” Alex said
“How long do we have to leave Cordina?” someone from the crowd said to him
“We don’t know” Alex replied

The crowd started to murmur again but it was louder this time. Alex knew that they didn’t agree with his solution and he needed to convince them that it was for the best

“I know it is not convenient for you. It is not convenient for us either but we don’t have a choice. There is a war coming and if you don’t leave now, you would die in it. We are outnumbered, we are out manned. Most of the population of Cordina are civilians. We have a very small army and there was a fight today. It was Raphael, Sally and I over s hundred trained soldiers! The only advantage we have is that we are trained and we have hybrids, three hybrids of which I am the only one here to protect all of you! Phillip knows this and he would come for you regardless! He knows I can’t be everywhere at the same time and he is aware of this so he would try to get to is from the people that can’t defend themselves, you, and you!”
“He is right!” someone said from the crowd
“The best thing is to leave Cordina and stay out of Cordina. When you are ready to leave, your representative in that house would come here to submit some valid information about how we can reach you once all of this is over. Once it is, it would be your choice to come back and help rebuild Cordina or stay where you are and continue with your lives. It is all your choice” Alex said

The crowd started to nod to each other and he knew that they agreed with him. Maybe he wasn’t a bad ruler after all, he said to himself

“So what now? What is the next course of action?” someone asked from the crowd
“Right now, we would double the security at the gates of Cordina. It would buy us enough time for all of you to pack up what you need for a while and leave for somewhere else. We wouldn’t stop until the last person leaves Cordina. Cordina is not a big city. It is a land that has been governed for a while. We are a small estate and it shouldn’t take so much time before the last person leaves Cordina. When we are dome with clearing out the place, we would double our training and then try to get Anna and Damian back because without them, we can’t win this, without Justin, we can’t win this. We would make sure Phillip doesn’t see the light of day when we are done with him. We would make sure he doesn’t remain a threat even in his imprisonment or his death. We can’t over emphasize the that Phillip is dangerous and he has so many followers. If we kill him, there is somebody else just waiting to take his place there. We would have to take all of them out and find out way around it but leave that to us. Let us worry about that. Right now, your safety is our concern and we want to ensure that everybody makes it out of Cordina safely” Alex said

The crowd nodded at him and they began to clap. He was glad that he has gotten through to them and they were going to cooperate with him. That was good music to his ears because he needed there support for this to work. He needed them to be on his side and he wasn’t their ruler so he expected it to be harder than it ought to be but he was wrong. They had shown him the same love and respect that they had shown Damian and that was a plus to him. He looked around and saw Beth standing in the crowd. His heart melted. She was there with him. She was a fighter, stronger than any regular wolf that he knew but he wasn’t going to let her fight and he hoped that she knew this

“The doors of the palace would be opened today for the dropping of your details. It would be to our greatest delight for all of you to get to safety. Thank you very much for your time and attention. I guess we can close this meeting now” Alex said

The crowd gave another loud cheer before they headed back home. Alex walked into the house and let out a sigh of relief. He Saw Sally and Raphael standing there, smiling at him
