Chapter Sixty Nine
“What is your problem? I understand that you don’t want me to find Annabelle but why are you so fixed on me giving up on her? Why do you want her here so bad? I know she wouldn’t give you her life without me and I am going to find her whether you like it or not but what is in it for you? What happens to you when I give up?” Damian asked him
“I get to live. My life is in her death” he said to him, looking him straight in the eyes
“I am sorry to announce to you that you are going to be gone really soon because I would not leave here until I have found her. If I don’t find her, I wouldn’t leave and then we can spend all of eternity together, looking at our faces till we get bored and tired of each other. I am ready to spend all of eternity here with you. I guess we are going to be nice housemates!” Damian said to him before he sped through the club
He didn’t find her there either so he dropped on his knees, thinking of any other place she could be at. He decide to check her favorite thinking spot, on the building but after going into the building and looking everywhere, he didn’t fine her. It was just another empty place, a dead end. He felt someone pull him and he looked down at his hands. He felt something move in his pocket and then he dipped his hands into his pocket. It was a piece of note
“One more hour and I am pulling you out, whether you find her or not, Grace!” he read
He knew that he wasn’t going to get another chance at this and he had to do it now but he had looked everywhere for her and honestly, he was starting to give up on ever finding her. He sat on top of the building, wondering where she could be when he felt a presence. He looked around and saw Darius, her father standing there
“If you’re here to tell me that I wouldn’t find her then you can keep it to yourself. I already got the message and I know that I can’t find her. You don’t need to rub it in my face!” he said to him
“I am glad that you realized this sooner. You don’t have to stay here. She might have been crossed over to the ancestral world” he said
“No, she hasn’t. She is here, I can feel it but maybe she doesn’t want to be found. Maybe she wants her life here and not with me but don’t make me feel stupid by telling me that she already crossed over, if she did, this place would not even exist. It would be a wasted land, covered in nothing but dirt and ashes!” Damian said to him
Darius smiled at him and looked away. Damian got up and decided to leave when he realized that he didn’t have an exist to he decided to take a walk when he saw it, his house. He had totally forgotten that he actually had a place back at the central. He walked in and walked up to his room. He found the door locked. That was unusual. Every other place had given him access to enter but his own room was locked. He pushed hard against the door but it wasn’t budging. He heard someone groan inside
“Anna? Is that you?” He called out
“Damian?” She called softly
He smiled as tears welled up in his eyes. He found her in the one place where she felt closer to him, his own house
“Open the door! It is me! I came for you! I came to set you free” he said to her
“You shouldn’t be here! Why are you here? Damian, you have to go” she said to him
“I am not leaving without you! If you stay here then I stay here! You are not going to do this alone, not anymore!” he said to her
“I can’t do this Damian! They are too strong! They wouldn’t let me go!”
“Annabelle, you have to listen to me! This is your mind! You own this place! You are the one that rules this place. Grave would drag me back really soon and I don’t know if I would get the chance to come back here because I am tied to your brother but if I get dragged away, you have to break free. Your fears, they want you this way until you cross over to the ancestral world but the magic my dad gave you, the one that he thought would cripple you for the rest of your life, it is what has kept you here. It is what has kept you safe! My dad’s magic has sustained you do you have some kind of connection to life itself! The only person holding you back is you! You are what is holding you back! Your fears, I know you can feel them all around you but this is your mind. You are the one on control” Damian said to her
“No, Damian. I cant do it!” she said
“Yes you can! You can do it. You are the strongest person I know. You are beautiful and smart. You are loved and I am here. I will not leave here. If Grace draws me back to reality, I would tell her to find a way to send me back here to you! I am not leaving again so if you can’t do it then I would spend my eternity right here in your mind where we can be together!” he said to her
“You can’t do that, Cordina needs their king” she said weakly
“There is no Cordina without you! Cordina needs their king, yes but only the queen can save Cordina from Phillip. It was your destiny. We may not have known back then but it was why you were drawn to Cordina in the first place. You were sent to save it from all of those. If I go back without you, there would be no Cordina to save. All I need you to do is believe that you can do it and you will!” Damian said to her
At first, he didn’t hear anything from the room until a while light covered the entire place and the door creaked. She walked out and he hugged her.
“You did it! You did it, baby” he said to her as he hugged her
Slowly, life and colors started to seep in and the environment started to become brighter with every step that she took until they were surrounded with colors and everywhere was bursting out with vibrancy and life. She smiled at herself and turned to look at Damian
“Now how do we get out of here?” she asked him
“Well, it is your mind. You can push me out of your mind and then decide to wake up” Damian said to her
“How do I do that?” she asked Damian
“The sane old way we have done things that involves the mind, you meditate until you become one with your environment and then you bend it at your will” Damian said to her
She nodded at him and sat down on the grass, crossing her legs and taking deep breath. She could feel herself slip away and she started to rise from the ground still cross-legged. She stopped when she was in the air and let out a deep breath. Damian started to glow. He looked down and he knew that she had sent him home. He hoped that she wouldn’t decide to stay dead and she would come with him.
“Anna, I don’t know if you can hear me but keep doing what you’re doing, it is working and for what it’s worth, I am sorry for not being there for you through everything. I wasn’t there to see you grow and that was more disappointing but I am proud of who you’ve become. I am proud of the woman that you’ve become, the woman that you’ve grown to become. I love you. See you on the other side” he said with a little laugh and he was gone
When he opened his eyes, he saw Grace and Sally in his face. He groaned and tried to stand up
“What happened? Did you pull me out of there?” he asked Grace
“No, you came out on your own. That means you must have found a door way or you must have found Anna” Grace said to him
“I found Anna. She was locked up and held back by her own fears. It was hard to convince her to break out and be free but she did it and she is on her way here, I hope” he said to her
Those words were barely out of his mouth when she gasped back to life and opened her eyes. Alex sped to her and hugged her. As much as he tried not to, he broke down in years ad he held her like his life depended on it. She hugged him back and looked at Damian. He smiled at her. Alex had to eventually let her go and she looked at Grace
“Damian would not have been able to do that without you. Thank you for coming for me, all of you” She said to them
“Well, we were ready to bury you and that is not a lie. Damian was the one that stood his ground and said until he tried every possible way to get you back, nobody was going to burn your body or stick it in the ground” Sally said to her
She took of her bandage and saw that her hands were completely healed. She looked at her brother and she stood up from her bed. Her spine was healed too. She smiled. It was time to level the playing field
“Now that you’re back, we can get to the part where we save Cordina” Grace said
“Yes we can but first, we need to do one more thing” she said as she turned to look at Alex
“What is that?” Alex asked her, looking back at her
