34. Shopping

Over the next few days Elise kept herself busy shopping through home, furniture, and antique stores, finding linens, dinner ware, appliances. She had their new home put together in no time at all, complete with art, knickknacks, and house plants to help it feel more homie.

As she looked over her work with Leviathan, she asked, “So, now that the house is done what do you think I should do?”

“Why not try working with me.”

“What, causing mischief and debauchery?” She said razing an eyebrow.

“Ha!” He laughed. “No little angel. You can help me with the demons.”

“How do you mean?” She asked, still confused.

“Many of the half demons are completely undisciplined. They know nothing about history, or culture. They act like entitled little babies with no self-control. Maybe you could give them some martial training and whip them into shape.”

“In shape for what?”

“Whatever comes.”

“That’s a bit vague.”

“Would you be interested in doing it, or not?”

“I wouldn’t mind teaching them some manners. How would demons feel though about having an angel for their teacher.”

“They can deal with it. If I tell them that they must learn from you then they will come. I have no doubt that you will gain their respect.”

“Where would I be teaching them? I would need a lot of outdoor space to train.”

“That is fine I have some vacant land outside the city. Would that work?”

“Yeah, that would work.”

“Are you up for the challenge then?”

“I guess.”

“Good.”

“On a different subject, you know how we are going to have that huge party tomorrow.”

“Yeah.”

“Well, I am planning on going out with Amanda and her friends to do some shopping for it today.”

“Sounds fun.”

“Yeah, I just wanted to let you know.”

“Alright well have a wonderful time.”

Elise gave him a kiss and left to go meet with the girls. They met up at the outdoor mall.

“Elise, over here.” Amanda waved. “It is so good to see you.”

“Good to see you too Amanda.” Elise gave her cousin a hug. Then looked at the other girls. “It’s good to see you all too.”

“How are you and Levi?” Amanda asked.

“We have been busy with the new house, but everything is all in order now.”

“I bet. It must be nice to have someone that takes care of everything for you.” Georgia said cattily.

“Actually, Georgia Elise is quite wealthy on her own.” Amanda came to her cousin’s defense. It was true. Elise had enough money for anything she could ever want. Michael had shown her how to properly invest and grow her fortune when she was young. One hundred and eighty some odd years later she had more wealth than she knew what to do with. Michael had also taught her to live for others and not herself. He told her to forgo vanity as it could lead to others becoming jealous of her. So, Elise had always lived humbly. Many of her acquaintances, included Georgia, had no idea of her wealth.

“Let's not talk about money. We came here to shop, so let’s.” Elise said cheerfully.

The girls began making their way from shop to shop. Elise had become a little bolder in her clothing choices. Some of the pieces she chose clung to her curves or where low cut to show off her cleavage.

Georgia kept up her string of cattie comments belittling Elise until she became so annoyed, she was struggling to reign in her anger.

The girls finished up their shopping trip at an adult novelty and lingerie store.

“So, Elise does Levi like you in this kind of thing?” Abigal asked with a little snigger as she held up a bondage harness.” None of the girls could imagine her in such a thing.

“What I do in the bedroom is none of your business.” Elise replied.

“That’s a yes.” Georgia broke in. “She is evading the question. I bet you dress up and act like a slut for him. Don’t you?”

“Georgia!” Amanda was appalled.

“What? I’ll bet that she does.”

“You had better stay in your own lane Georgia.” Elise warned.

“Oh, come off your high horse Elise. You have always acted like your better than the rest of us, but you aren’t are you. You just dropped everything to go chasing a man around the world for the last two years. You think because you took the richest, best looking, bachelor you are some sort of queen. Well, I have news for you, you aren't. I doubt your little pious act impresses him much. In fact, I bet he is giving it to other people behind your back.”

“Oh, shut up Georgia you are so full of crap.” Amanda shot back.

“I bet I could get with him if I wanted to.”

“Oh, yeah.” Elise challenged her.

“Yeah, in fact I think I do want him.”

“You just go ahead and try.”

“Fine I will.” Georgia stormed off.

“What a bitch.” Elise growled.

“Yeah, I agree with you.” Baily chimed in.

Elise decided to change topics to lighten the mood. “I still want to get a few things from here. Afterwords we can go grab a snack if you guys want to.”

“Sorry Elise, Abigal and I have dates tonight. We need to head out to start getting ready.” Baily apologized.

“Thats okay. I'll see you tomorrow night.”

“See you then.” Baily and Abigal said goodbye as they left the store.

“Elise I am so sorry about Georgia. She has been in a mood lately. Before you left, she got back with Marcus. It didn’t work out, but since then she has been spending a lot of time with his friends. They are not a good influence for her. She has been getting meaner and meaner. I honestly don’t know what I was thinking asking her to come out with us.”

Elise knew the effects demons could have over weak humans. Especially if they hung out with them too much. Still, that was no excuse to treat her with disrespect. Elise made up her mind. She would let Georgia try whatever she wanted. She had no chance with Leviathan. Once she had failed in her seduction if her behavior towards Elise did not improve then it would be her time to go.

Amanda and Elise continued shopping in the store for a while. Elise ended up buying a lot of Lingerie. It was something that Leviathan liked to see. And she loved to oblige him.

“So, would you like to grab a pretzel and some frozen lemonade?” Elise asked as they left the store.

“Sounds yummy.”

They sat in the food court laughing and enjoying each other's company. Beside Margret Amanda was Elise’ closest friend. Her other cousins were kind, but they didn’t click like Amanda and she did. She enjoyed having a connection with her relatives. Over the years though she had to find creative ways to insert herself into the family and make them believe that she was family. Then she would have to distance herself again once they started to notice she wasn’t aging. She wondered how she was going to do that with Amanda. She did not enjoy the thought of ending their friendship. She did think about it though, while Amanda chatted away. ‘Maybe I could let her in.’ She thought. She trusted her.

Elise made up her mind. She would tell Amanda. She would wait to find the right time, but she wanted to share who she really was with her. She was sure Amanda would handle it well. She would have a million questions of course, but anyone would.

They finished their lemonade and went their separate ways.
