76. No Angel Just Death
Elise was overjoyed as she looked down at the dust that was once Abaddon. The onlookers were horrified by what they had just witnessed. Elised yelled at the people.
“What?”
Then she began to put her weapon away, not even caring who was watching her. Leviathan came up behind her and grabbed her. He leaned down to ear and as he dragged her away from the scene he asked
“What do you think you're doing.”
“I am tired of tiptoeing around. I am who I am, and I don’t care who sees. In fact, I hope everyone sees and they know I am coming for them.”
“Just because you want them to know you are coming doesn’t mean that you can show our kind to the humans.”
“What does it matter if they see they won’t believe anything they are ignorant. “
“Still, they shouldn’t see so much of what we are.”
Elise just nodded. She didn’t want to fight. Although she had no qualms about showing the world who she was she could see the value of keeping them in the dark. Leviathan and her made her way through the city till they reached a hotel.
The two entered the hotel. It was a small place, nothing extraordinary, if anything it was a hovel but they both just wanted a place to regroup before they headed back to New Orleans. The two walked into the run-down establishment.
“We would like a room.”
Leviathan said. The man behind the counter took his time handing them a key and checking them in. Elise was getting impatient with his antics.
“Why don’t you hurry the fuck up.”
She said in a low tone. The man looked a bit perturbed but continued at his own pace. By the time he finally given them the key and the room number Elise wanted to rip off his head. Leviathan took her by the arm and led her out of the lobby area and down a corridor to find the room they would be staying in.
Once they entered the small quarters Elise let out a laugh.
“What is so funny.”
“Oh, just this shit hole. Hell was nicer than this place. And what is worst is we are paying for staying here..”
Leviathan just stood there watching her.
“And the incompetent man out there was ridiculous. I wanted to sever his head from his body. I mean he is just a waste of space if you ask me.”
“So, I have noticed something.”
“Yeah what.”
“You seem to have no patience anymore.”
“Huh.”
“Yeah, I don’t know if it happened in hell, but I think even before that. When we went traveling abroad you seemed to lose your patience with people. I think if you got some of that back you may be a bit better.”
“So, I'm bad now.”
“NO, I didn’t say that I just said you would be a bit better.”
“That implies that there is something wrong with me.”
“Knock it off Elise, I just meant you would maybe be in better condition for everything if you found a bit of patience. It is a virtue after all.”
“What would you know about virtues, you are a prince of hell.”
She snapped. She didn’t like being criticized.
“I know what I am and don’t think I don’t. I have patience although it is a virtue I have it.”
He could tell this was part of her insanity. The lack of control. The way she found a way to ridicule the place they were staying at. Comparing it to hell. These were all symptoms of insanity. Though she was not totally insane she was a bit on the crazy side.
“Whatever, so I think we should go hunting instead of returning home. I mean I do have an idea where the rest of your brothers are. I also don’t feel like sitting and waiting. I have been doing it for years and my list is long of people to kill.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes, I am sure.”
“Fine we will hunt.”
She smiled wickedly. She had been just biding her time. She wanted to destroy everything. She didn’t see past her revenge. Elise didn’t care what would come after. All she cared about was destruction. Leviathan called his sons.
They were to remian at home to make sure things were kept up and running. They were also in charge of restoring their home. Elise and he had completely destroyed it with their fighting and rough sex. He told them he didn’t know how long they would be gone be he expected a while till they returned. They had five more of his brothers to kill and eight of her uncles.
He, like Elise, didn’t know what would come after their deaths. If he was the last prince of hell and she was the last arch angel what did that mean. He had no idea. Leviathan didn’t want to think about that now though. He wanted to help Elise seek out the justice he so believed she deserved.
He looked at her. She was covered in blood. They would need to find clothes before they moved about earth to hunt.
“Stay here I am going to get us some things.”
She nodded. Her mind was somewhere else. She was envisioning killing more of his brothers. She wondered how it would feel to have all her oppressors dead. She knew she would be relieved, but she didn’t know if it would bring her happiness.
She still didn’t know if she wanted revenge on all of her uncles or just Michael. She sat there contemplating who was on her kill list. In the end she decided it would be best if all of them died. After all they had wanted her mother dead.
She thought she would feel something with the realization she was going to kill all her family, but nothing came. Elise introspected herself. She knew she was not all there, but she knew she never would be, this was her new normal. A total lack of sympathy empathy or compassion. She was forged in a dungeon in hell and now she was something else she didn’t view herself as an angel anymore. When she thought of herself, she could only recognize herself as one thing, she was death now.
