80. Trauma Made a Slave
Hell was as hot as Elise remembered it. The sky was red, and it was crawling with souls. Elise looked up at the castle that Mara lived in. She had slaughtered the demons who had been instructed to guard his home. The two of them entered the castle.
“Mara”
Elise called. He slowly emerged from behind a pillar. Elise felt a string of emotions. She felt terror, anger, and sorrow. She wanted to run to kill him, but she couldn’t all she could think about was being in his cells. Her wings hooked up and bare. He had just finished himself inside her and was praising her for being such a good girl.
Leviathan didn’t know what to do. He knew he could kill him but that would not be affected as he would eventually come back. No, Elise was the only one who could give him death that was final. He figured the best thing to do was keep him there so when Elise could she would be able to kill him. He moved away from Elise to go to his brother.
Once he reached him. He felt a gust of wind. Michael was there as Jophiel. Michael and Jophiel grabbed Elise and flew away before Leviathan could reach back to her. Just then thousands of Demons came in and surrounded him. This was now feeling very familiar. He pulled his weapon.
He worried that this was going to last centuries as it had before. He didn’t know how Mara had gained so many demons to fight for him.
“She is mine now Leviathan.”
Leviathan roared. He began to fight. After hours passed, he felt wings flying above him. When he looked up his throat was exposed, and it was stabbed through. He fell to the ground. As he lay there dying, he knew he would wake up again. He would not be given death. Only Elise could kill him.
When he woke up, he was surrounded by the brightest light possible. He didn’t know where he was. He couldn’t be in the realm of light he wasn’t an angel. But he also didn’t think he was in heaven. No, this was a new place. There was no one there but the light was so bright that he felt weak.
He knew if he stayed here, he would be weak. It would be like an angel in hell. He got up and looked around but there was nothing. He tried to poof, but he went nowhere. He was stuck. He could not leave. Wherever this bright place was it had been designed to stop and trap not only demons but princes of Hell.
Elise was tied up. Michael was standing close by.
“Elise I'm sorry but this is how it must be. You killed everyone. Did you expect that nothing would happen to you.”
“Fuck you.”
She shouted.
“If you remove your weapon Mara won’t touch you. It is the deal we made.”
“I will do no such thing. My weapon stays inside me.”
“Then I am truly sorry for what will happen. “
“When you change your mind let Mara know and we will move you to a different cell so you cannot get to your weapon.”
Michael turned to walk away. Elise’s fear shot through her. She knew she couldn’t do it again. She could not have him touch her.
“Wait.”
She called out. Michael turned.
“Fine.”
Elise Lifted her arm. Her hand touched her spine. She didn’t have access to move much. So, as she strained, she was barely able to grasp the double-edged sword. Once it was in her hand, she dropped it to the ground. Michael came in close. He was going to undo her chains to move her.
Once he was close enough. She hoisted herself up with her wrists that were bound and latched on to his neck with her legs and clapped down. He tried to pull her off. Her legs remained fixed. He began to draw blood as he ripped into her flesh trying to pull her off.
She kept applying pressure. She knew it would only take a few more moments. Then it happened he passed out. It gave her a few minutes. She looked up at her wrists that were tied above her. She would have to break her wrists to get free. Elise took a deep breath and then broke them.
She screamed through a closed mouth she could not afford to be found out. Once free she grabbed her double aged sword. She looked down at Michael. Tears fell down her face as she ran her weapon through his unconscious body.
Sadness overcame her and she fell to the ground holding him before he turned to ash. This was who raised her. She knew she had to do it. But she wished it was different. Michael was gone. He only had one uncle left. She stood trying to up tears streaking down her face.
Where was Mara this needed to end. Elise found her way out of the dungeon and went back to the throne room. Mara was sitting on his throne. Seeing him Elise froze up again. She didn’t understand what was happening. Why was she consumed with these feelings.
Mara smiled seeing her there.
“Elise, it is so good to see you. I assume you killed Michael seeing as your out of your cell.”
She said nothing.
“You know I expected this from you. In fact, I counted on it. I knew I broke you at year 205. It was one of our anniversaries after all. I have to say I expected you to last longer.”
Elise didn’t know why she couldn’t move.
“Now my darling you should kneel. You know how I love it and I don’t want to have to hurt you.”
Elise was struck with terror. She had been conditioned to obey him. Though she had the power she felt weak. She thought that if she listened then he would be less brutal. It was how her mind worked after being held captive for so long. She would remain silent and be at Mara’s mercy.
Without Leviathan being there she had no tether to her reality. She felt as if she was back trapped at Mara’s mercy. As she began to kneel Mara smiled wickedly. He knew that without Leviathan in the way he was now in control of the most powerful being.
