I was worried, very, very worried. Nobody had been able to reach Hannah for two days and Rev looked like a walking corpse. We had tracked down her friend Michelle, who hadn’t heard from her in a month and she confirmed that Hannah had no plans to come and visit her. Hannah had lied to us and Rev swore that nothing had happened between them that would make Hannah leave. I believed him.
“Where would she go?” I asked Rev as he sat on the couch looking like death.
“I don’t know Lucas,” he said to me honestly.
“She looked fine when I talked to her and she told me to my face she was going to visit Michelle,” I said to him.
“Same here, she was herself,” he said to me.
“We found her car!” Preston yelled as he barged into the office and Rev and I both jumped up.
“Where?” Rev asked.
“In lower Aurora,” he said.
“The fuck,” Rev said.
“Why would she go there?” I asked feeling confused.
“Lucas! Lucas!” I heard Timothy yelling.
“Timothy?” I asked as he also barged into my office looking like he’d seen a ghost. He was paler than I remembered if it was even possible.
“What the fuck is going on?” he yelled.
“Take a deep breath and tell me what you’re yelling about, we’re facing a crises as it is,” I said to him.
“Can you explain to me how the fuck Hannah’s picture ended up on the auction site?” he said after he took several deep breaths.
“What?” I yelled as Rev paled and Preston’s eyes grew wide.
“I just got the email with the candidates and raced over here,” he said to me and opened his laptop.
“We haven’t been able to reach her for two days,” I said to him.
Timothy accessed his emails and turned his laptop towards me and I stared at the ten pictures on his email. Hannah’s picture was last and it showed her in an almost see-through dress standing against a white wall, not smiling, just looking straight into the camera.
“How the fuck did this happen?” he asked me.
“Shit,” Rev said as realization hit him.
“What?” I asked him.
“She planned this. I didn’t think she was serious,” he said.
“What are you talking about Rev, planned what?” I asked him.
“We had a discussion about the site and she said we needed an inside person, someone to locate the warehouse, a woman that would go undercover to be sold,” he said as my heart started hammering in my chest.
“And she chose herself,” I said what everyone was thinking.
“I told her we couldn’t do that to any woman, that we’d find another way to find them and she agreed,” he said.
“There’s also a mystery sale going on, bidding without seeing,” Timothy said as he pointed to the next part of the email.
“I don’t care about some mystery sale, we have to get Hannah back!” I said to him.
“What do you think I’m doing?” he asked me sarcastically.
“We all need to calm down and work together,” I said and took my phone out.
“Her bid’s already on twelve million,” he said.
“Whatever it takes,” I said to him and turned around as I dialed a number.
“Hello,” he answered.
“We have a problem Jasper, Hannah’s picture just went live on the auction site, they have her,” I said to him.
“Fucking hell, I’m on my way,” he said and ended the call.
We watched the auction site for any updates and by the time Jasper arrived Hannah’s bid stood on twenty million dollars. I heard the front door slam open and then his hurried footsteps as he ran up to my office.
“Any news?” he asked looking like the rest of us.
“She’s a hot commodity,” Timothy said and Rev looked like he was going to kill him.
“Any ideas how they got her?” Jasper asked angrily.
“It seems she wanted to be taken,” Preston said and Jasper glared at us.
“And none of you realized she was gone?” he asked loudly.
“She lied to all of us, said she was going to visit her friend,” I said to him.
“Well how the hell are we getting her back?” he asked.
“At this point we can just hope nothing happens to her and that we win the bid to buy her,” Timothy said.
“What does your dragon say Lucas?” Jasper asked me.
“He’s not talking to me,” I said to him.
Martha knocked on the door and then popped her head inside and smiled at Jasper.
“Lucas, forgive the intrusion, but the three Elders are downstairs,” she said to me.
“This is just fucking great, more bullshit,” I said loudly.
“I’ll place them in the meeting room,” Martha said and I nodded.
“Lucas, before you lose your cool it’s a good thing they’re here,” Jasper said.
“What are you thinking?” I asked him.
“They can open the realm for you so that you can trace the familial bond with Hannah and maybe just maybe we can get a location on her,” Jasper said.
“Fuck of course,” I said. I couldn’t believe that I hadn’t thought of that.
We all filed downstairs and into the meeting room where the three Elders were helping themselves to coffee and Elder James only raised his eyebrows as he watched us all barge into the room. He was clearly not impressed with having everyone there with me.
“Sire Lucas, good morning,” Elder Peter said.
“No time for niceties, I need your help,” I said.
“We have come to see you on an urgent matter as well,” Elder Gareth said.
“Which is?” Jasper asked.
“It has come to our attention that a certain member of your lair has been turned after our refusal of that request,” Elder James said smugly.
“Yeah it’s true, now to the other point,” I said but I was cut off.
“Who turned your member? This is a strict violation that we forbade,” Elder Peter said.
“I fucking turned her myself,” I said feeling frustrated.
“Impossible,” Elder Gareth said, “you’re just a Sire, no Sire has that power.”
“We can sort that matter out later, Hannah’s been taken and I need you to open the realm so I can track her location through the familial bond,” I said.
“This matter will be resolved now,” Elder James said.
“Aren’t you fucking listening to me!” I yelled, “they’re trying to sell my sister on an auction site! They rape and torture these woman and sell them to the highest bidders!”
“How do you know this?” Elder Gareth asked me.
“We’ve been tracking the site and rescuing the women we can find,” I said finally.
“Ah so you are engaging in illegal activities that are not to the benefit of dragonkin,” Elder Peter said.
“What the fuck,” Jasper said, “I can’t believe what I’m hearing!”
“Sire Jasper, why are you even here?” Elder James asked him.
“Because we’re trying to find Hannah and right now you’re hindering the process!” he yelled at them.
“We will take your request into consideration and revert back to you on this matter. As for the turning of…” Elder Gareth began to say but I interrupted him.
“Are you denying my request to locate my sister?” I asked him in disbelief.
“As Elder Gareth said, we will take your request into consideration,” Elder Peter said and I slammed my fists down on the table.
“Get out of my fucking house and be warned that when I find Hannah and I will find her, that you will wake up one night and find me staring down at you and that will be last thing you ever see,” I said angrily.
“Are you threatening us Sire Lucas?” Elder James asked me.
“This is no threat, I will kill you so I suggest you run and make sure I can’t find you because you’re living on borrowed time,” I said to them.
“Preston, get these pieces of shit out of here before I help Lucas kill them,” Rev said and Jasper nodded as we all glared at them.
“Consequences Lucas, this will not go unpunished,” Elder Gareth said as they left the room.
“Fucking assholes,” Jasper said.
“Baz, I don’t care how mad you are at me. I need your help, this is Hannah, you can go back to ignoring me after we find her,” I said to him.
“I agree halfling,” he said in my head and I could feel him as he connected with me once again.
“How do we find her?” I asked him.
“You need to enter the dragon realm again to access the magic there and follow the bond with her,” he said to me.
“Let’s do it,” I said to him and he nodded in my head.
I could feel him push through and my eyes glowed yellow as the room became silent and everyone stared at me. Timothy had lurked outside while the Elders had been here but he had joined us soon after they left.
“What’s going on with him?” Timothy asked as he pointed towards me.
“He’s accessing his dragon to find Hannah, his dragon has taken over now,” Jasper said.
“Hello vampire,” Baz said as he turned to Timothy.
“Hello dragon,” Timothy said.
“Let’s find our sister,” Baz said as he walked outside.
I am the dragon
