Chapter 14

It took me moments to answer his questions.
"Hey Erica, I asked you to tell me about your boyfriend." He insisted.
"Well, I do not have a boyfriend," I told him.
"Is that possible? He asked me, looking surprised.
"Yea, that is very much possible, though I had a boyfriend but things didn't work out for the two of us, so we had to go out separate ways." I told him .
He was still surprised to hear that someone as beautiful as I am, does not have a man.
The music from the group of young men singing for us filled the whole room and sounded very melodious.
Albert and I had a very good time together, it was as if the date should not end. After we were done with our food, he called the waiter to get our bills, he offset the bill with his debit? card.
I had wanted us to start going, but Albert insisted we sat down and talked More.
"How will you cope when you get to your new school?" He asked me, feeling concerned.
"I will cope of course, I am not a baby remember? I can always take care of myself."? I told him.
"I am going to miss you if you leave for your school abroad. I had wanted to get closer, but I guess, we do not always get what we wish." He said.
I could feel the worry he had for the fact that I would be leaving for school.?
"Hey, why are you worrying sick? I always come to have holidays you know, you don't have to bother yourself about me." I said to him
"Okay, that will be a good idea." He replied.
I checked the time on my wristwatch and it was already 9:30 Pm,I informed him I needed to start going since I would not like to get home while it is dark . He suggested we lodge in? a nearby? hotel, so that I can go back home the next day, but I insisted I would like to get back to my house instead of lodging in the hotel.
Albert held hand and looked directly into my eyes.
"Erica , I do not know how you are going to react to this, but I just gave to say this, I really like you a whole lot"
I was dazed, deep in my heart I know that I have already come to like doctor Albert,but I do not how it will sound that I have fallen in love with the doctor that is meant to be taking care of my sick dad. My family and I are very prominent in the society and it will not be that easy for us to make some decisions so that we do not appear in the? headline of? the local dailies.
*I? like you too Albert, is there anything else you want from me ?I thought we were friends already." I told him.
"Yes I know that we are friends, but I would like us to be more than just friends". He said.
I did not understand what Alber meant by more than just friends, I wanted him to come out clean and say what he wanted.
"What do you mean by more than just friends." I asked him.
"I want you to be my girlfriend," He Said.
I looked at him with missed feelings, I was excited he asked me out, I mean who would not be?' . He is the type of guy every lady would love to have for herself,? someone who is intelligent, smart , and established.
I did not want to accept his proposal of being his girlfriend and at the same time I did not want to turn it down. I am just skeptical about accepting anyone right now for the fact that I need to have a fiance or be married before the family. Business can be handed over to me, I need to be careful in choosing a life partner. I do not want what happened in my last relationship to happen.
"You see doctor Albert, let's just take things slow" I told him silently.
"There is nothing to take slow Erica, we are both mature, and we are both single. I know you might feel it is awkward since I am your dad's doctor, but it does not matter, the heart goes to where it belongs" He tried to convince me .
I could feel Albert really like me.
"But…….,
I tried to say something but he stopped me with a kiss. His lips were already wet and tasted so good, one of the finest lips I have ever kissed. I could not stop him from kissing me.
The music in the background kept leading me on, we both kissed passionately locked in each other's lips and not willing to let go.
I can tell Albert Was a good kisser,I enjoyed kissing him and I did not want the moment to end so soon, we continued kissing romantically.?
"I am sorry" He said as he stopped kissing me.
I had wanted to tell him we should continue the kiss because I needed it the most. But I have to be a gentle lady and not look nor sound too loose.
"It is okay, you do not have to apologize"
"So are? we a couple now?" He asked me.
"Not yet ,Albert, I need to think about this, so I will give you the reply soon"
I told him. I was glad I did not give him a straight response as this will give me enough time to think it through and come to a conclusion that will be better for me because everything seemed to be happening so fast and I would not like to make the wrong decision.
"That is okay,I will be waiting for your reply then" Albert said.
When we were done in the restaurant we decided it was time to go home, we came outside the restaurant and everywhere was still filled with people. Albert suggested we go to a nightclub to seal the night.
"Can we go to the nightclub to have some fun?" He asked me.
"What? ,I am sorry but I am not the clubbing type" I told him.
"Have you not been to a nightclub before?" He asked me.
"I have been to a nightclub only once since I became an adult, my dad doesn't like me attending nightclubs, I am sorry" I told him.
"I guess your dad has so much influence on you, so basically speaking,you are a dad's girl then"?
He joked and we both laughed.
"Yes I am,I only got to attend a nightclub when I finished my first degree and my classmates went to a club to have fun" I told him.
"It is never a bad idea to have fun, and more so the night club is not a bad place". He explained.
"But doctor, I am surprised you attend night clubs, when do you have all the time to attend a night club and I thought doctors do not go to places such as night clubs." I said.
"Hey, I am human, okay, I create time to have fun, moreso I do not go there all the time, just once in a while." He told me.
"Okay," I said.
"And what makes you think doctors do not go to nightclubs, a night club is not a bad place, not like it is some kind of restricted area for doctors." He asked me with a surprise look.
" Yeah, I know it is not restricted to anyone, I just thought as doctors what your head is occupied with is how to treat patients and make them well." I told him.
"Yes,but that does not change the fact that doctors are human too. " He said to me?
"I agree with you "
"So would you come with me to the club tonight?" He asked me again.
"I am really sorry but I would love to go home and have some rest, the night is already far spent, perhaps some other time, I need to sleep so I can wake up early to come to the hospital to see my dad" I told him.
"That is okay," he replied.
"Speaking of my dad, Albert, please make sure you try your best to see that my dad is well again," I told him.
"Sure, I will do anything in my power to make sure he gets better, the accident really affected him,but I will do my best for him" He assured.
I wished the night would end already, I had so much nice time with Albert this night, he was fun to be with.
The luxury car that Albert sent to bring me to the restaurant was still packed in the restaurant premises.
As soon as he saw us come out from the restaurant he had revised and was readily waiting to take me back home.
