Chapter 36

I Arrived Miami at exactly 5:,00 pm, the city was still very busy with activities, there were lots of people on the road, so many tall and big houses, so Many beautiful buildings and nice shops. It was a very beautiful place and one of the biggest cities in the world.
I know I will be having a very nice time in this city, I have heard so many beautiful things about it. Especially the fact that it is known for its high educational standard, that was why my dad chose it.
I tried locating my way but I could not, had my dad been alive, it would not have been difficult for me. I could have just called him and asked him for directions because he was good at knowing places because he has traveled to almost every part of the globe. I have only visited a few countries and this place unfortunately was not one of them.
I just pray I do not have a hard time adapting to this new city. I am ready to explore it in a more positive dimension, to learn and to meet good people. Finding love is out of the options since I have already found the love of my heart. And I do not plan to cheat on him, I have already promised to remain chaste till I get back
I saw a phone shop newby to help me set my phone GPS,and other settings, as well as my call sim card,so I walked in there and met a young man.
"Hey Mr, can you please help work on my phone settings," I told him
"I am so sorry ma'am, but we have closed for the day," he apologized.
"Oh common, please help me out, I need to be able to use my phone please and my laptop too", I pleaded with him.
"But I am really sorry ma'am, that is the rule here, you would have to come back tomorrow," he insisted.
I pleaded with him,but it was obvious he was going to yield to my pleas. So I let him be, l looked around and saw a hotel nearby. I quickly crossed over to the place. I went into the hotel. The hotel premises was such a small one, I saw only a few cars in the compound.
I tried to locate the entrance of the hotel, but I was finally able to locate it.
I went to meet a young man, sitting behind the reception desk.
"Hello,I would be needing a room," please," I told him.
"This way ma'am," he said. Pointing towards a room.
I followed him to the place he pointed, it was a very small room.
I asked him if this is the only room they have left in the hotel, and he said that other all the other rooms were occupied as they have so many visitors to night. I later got to find out that a top musician was hosting a show in the city, so many people came to the show from afar, that was the reason the rooms were all occupied.
I settled down in the room, at least to keep my head till morning when I can figure out how to look for accommodation and other things.
The room was a very small one with a small bed in it. It has a small sized television, a cabinet among other things. I removed my dress, to go have a shower. The bathroom wasn't a spacious one but it could be managed. Everything in the bathroom was in perfect shape and working perfectly well. Even the heater too.
After having a bath,I wore a simple dress and went outside in search of something to eat. Since I was not familiar with the environment I had to seek the help of the hotel staff that I had met on my arrival.
"Hello Mr, where can I get something to eat?" I asked him.
"We have a restaurant here ma'am," he answered. Pointing outside the hotel.
"Oh,great, thank you," I responded .
I went towards the direction he pointed, there was a mini restaurant at the far end of the hotel premises.
It was more like a student cafeteria. It was so small that it could barely contain thirty people. I settled down on one of the empty seats there, it was a table for two. A woman walked up to me, to present the menu, she was dressed in her work dress.
After going through the menu, I could not find something familiar to eat. The lists of food on the menu were the kind of foods I was not so familiar with.
I asked her if there was another menu I could choose from but she said there was none, that was the only menu they had.
I opted for rice and french fries. It was really a good and tasty meal,much more tasty than I expected. While I was eating, a good looking gentleman walked into the restaurant. He looked like a traveler too, because he kept asking the staff at the restaurant one question or another.
I looked up and saw him wave towards my direction, I waved back at him and continued with my meal.
When I looked up the second time, I saw him coming towards my table where I was seated.
"Hello beautiful, do you mind if I share your table?" He asked.
"Hello, no I do not mind if you can sit," I responded.
"You look really beautiful," he said .
"Thank you," I replied and continued with my meal. I was so famished, all I wanted was to eat and just go to bed.
He ordered his own meal and it was brought to him. We engaged in some conversation. I got to know that he was a businessman that deals in the sale of gold. He had come to purchase some goods. I was impressed with his wealth of knowledge, he seemed very knowledgeable in his field of business. I also told him, I had come to study and acquire more certificates so that I could be able to face my career and also join in the family business.
From our conversation, I could tell that he was a very focused businessman who took his business seriously. I asked him if he had been to this city or if this was his first time. He confirmed to have been visiting the city for a very long time. As a matter of fact, he comes here at least three times in four months.
He knows so much about the city, he mentioned a lot of places and what each is known for.
We discussed at length and he seemed like a nice person. I asked him why he was staying in this hotel.
"This is one of the cheapest hotel, in the city, I would not want to spend so much since I will only be staying for just two days for my business and when I am fine with my business, I will travel back to where I came From, do needless spending so much, moreso, it not just about the size of a hotel, it is the comfort that is more important,"
"Well, that is the truth, I agree with you," I replied.
"So how about you, is this your first time here?" he asked me.
"Yes, this is my first time in this city, I came to study.
We thought about quite a number of things, I used the opportunity to tell him about my phone that I was able to use because I need to work on the configuration settings. He promised to help me out. He gave me one of his phones to use till I was able to fix mine.
"Here you can have one of my phones,till you get yours fixed, so that you can inform your relatives that you have arrived safely, they will be sick and worried about you, if they do not get to hear from you as soon as possible," he said. Offering a small phone to me.
"Thank you so much,I will appreciate this,let me call my friend Rose at once, I met her at the airport,she is a little bit familiar with this city and she has some relatives here, thanks again",
I exchanged contacts with him for us to keep in touch, he was such a nice man and very helpful too.
I went back to my room, and as soon as I got there ,I used the phone that was given to me by the man earlier.
"Oh, I even forgot to ask him for his name, that was so bad of me," I said to myself.
I dialed Albert's phone number, it rang severally but no one answered.I checked the time and calculated the time difference and realized they will be deep asleep because of the difference in time. I decided to wait till it became a day before I would calm him again.
