Chapter 39

The day was filled with so much joy Today we will be having our matriculation ceremony at the new school.
It was one of the happiest day for me, it shows I am gradually getting all I ever wanted. Gaining entry into this school was not an easy on.
I quickly got dressed and set out to go, I wore my matriculation gown, I saw so much glad I made it to one of the best business schools. I got the school and met the school very busy with students and their loved ones. Many of the students had their family members and relatives in attendance, at this point I remembered and missed my parents, they could have flown to this place to celebrate my best moments with me, but I shrugged the feelings of and looked to the best part of life which is the reason I am here.
Our names were called one after another and when I heard my name I stood up to got and get my student identification card number that qualifies me a bonafide student of the institution.
I was overwhelmed with happiness, I offered my phone to the person next to me to help me get a good shots of this rare moment. I did not remember to come with my personal camera so I had to make do with my phone's camera.
There was much to eat and drink and dance too. I got to meet Rose's relatives, they were a very lovely people, the person happens to be Rose's aunt and her family. The lady is an immediate younger sister to Rose's mum, she came with her husband and her three lovely kids, I got to find out she is the person Rose had been putting up at her place and she looks like a kind a lady.
They came to the matriculation party with so much to eat and drink and they requested that I joined in their table which I obliged.
As soon as the matriculation party was over, I went home to rest. I got home had a shower and browsed through the pictures I took during the matriculation ceremony and they were all amazingly beautiful.
I equally synced the pictures and sent them to Albert through the social app messenger.
He was very delighted over the pictures and could not stop gushing over them. He complimented me in the pictures and we talked about how he is going to make a portrait of all of the pictures and have them hanged in his office, at his house one in his car. And I laughed so hard at his jokes.
I had wanted to call my uncle immediately to ask him, of what I heard from Albert was true but I decided to make further inquiries aside from checking the social media. It would be better if I called anyone that could be give a first hand information aside from the one that I heard from Albert, perhaps someone that works at the company, so that I can get to know what might exactly might have transpired between my uncle and the sacked staffs.
I remembered I had the phone number of the workers. I had her phone number saved tbe last time I spoke with her.
"Hello, this Erica," The said into the phone as she answered her call.
"Hello ma'am, good to hear from," she replied.
"Thank you, I would like to make an enquiry from you," I told her.
"Go ahead ma'am, whatever you would like to know ma'am, I would gladly help you," she said.
"I want to ask if it true that my uncle has sacked some of the workers",
She was reluctant about answering me, she acted as though someone would beat her up if she relieve her of her duties. It took her several minutes to speak up, I had to persuade her to take to me.
"Common please talk to me already," added.
"Yes ma'am, that is true, he really did sack some of the top workers of the company," she answered.
"What was his reasons for doing that, do you have any idea,". I asked her.
"well ma'am ,he gave no reason for that, he told us that the company now belongs to him and he would have to discharge the people he would not like to work with," she explained.
" Okay,thank you for the information, " I thanked her and hung up.
I thought about my uncle's actions for a while I could not be able to make anything out it, I know all he ever wants is for my good, yet he does not even inform me of the decisions that he takes. I hope so much on him and I trusted the company is his hands before leaving the country.
"Well he is my uncle and he would not do something that will jeopardize the growth of the company," I thought.
I did not want the information that I have just received to distract me from my studies, so I have to let it go and as I have concluded my uncle would not do anything to hurt me nor that do anything that will bring the company down. I have to face my studies which is the reason why I am here.
I went in to take a bath, so that I can leave for lectures.
I took my bath and dresed up, I wore a nice and very beautiful top and a pair of red trouser, I had more makeups on , I dressed very simple but I was still able to look lavishing.
I wanted to create a very good impression and I would want to be looking rough, since I would get meet lots of other students today, I really wanted to look good, because a lot of people would be in school.
I called a taxi to hell take to school, I had this particular taxi driver I wanted him to drive because he was so polight the day I met him and he is very nice nice, he even showed me round the city and called the names of some places while we passed the road.
I was glad I was able to reach him I told him he was on his way to come and pick me. Some seconds later he pulled at gate of the hotel and I boarded the taxi and we left for school .
I was so enthusiastic about the things I would meet in the school most especially the lectures and I pray the lectures would not be a tough one, it should at least be easy for me to assimilate.
I got to the school and met the school busy with different activities, do many people were still trying to get registered and have entry into the school, while some of the registered students were already in the class learning.
I tried locating my class room and when I found it,I went straight inside to sit, there were few students in the classroom while some of the students were coming into the classroom admist smiles, some of them were laughing happily.
It was really a very beautiful day and a begining for me, I sat and looked around the classroom, it can contain up to a thousand number of students, I quickly brought out the school curriculum for my class and I found out that I would not be spending much time in the school since I already have a first degree. My stay here will just be for few months and I would go back to my country. My face was filled with smiles remembering about all the beautiful things and opportunities waiting for me when I return.
I felt a tap on my shoulder and I looked up to see it was, it was Rose.
"Hey dear, how are you doing, and why are you smiling to yourself,ok let gusse, you are thinking about that your cute boyfriend,is that right?" Rose teased me.
Laughing at so loudly, I could not contain the laughter, Rose is such a funny girl.
"Hey Rose, I am not thinking about any boyfriend," I still her smiling.
"Hey I got you there,you do not have to lie okay, I saw you smiling to yourself," Rose insisted. And we both laughed.
The students settled down as the lecturer walked into the classroom, he addressed us in very calm voice, he was so polite and very intelligent and he delivers his lectures effortlessly and it was not difficult for us to comprehend all that be taught.
After him more two lectureres also came in to give their lectures, they were not as perfect as the first ldcturer that had come in first, these ones taught with lots of ambiguous words that needs the help of a dictionary for one to fully understand what it meant. I was so happy when the lectures finally ended and we went home.
