Chapter 38

I contacted a driver to take me to the school, on my way to the school, I had very nice view of the environment, it so busy no matter the time of the day, people could be seen around the area.
I arrived at the school premises, everywhere was so roudy and filed with students engaging in one activity or the other. I looked round, the school was so big, very much bigger than the university that I attended for my first degree.
I tried to locate my way around the school for my registrations, since I have done most of the registration via the school's website online, I know I would not have much registrations to do anymore except for some usual checking or documents .
I was glad I am finally here in my dream school and ready to study. I looked around to find my way to the Academic directors office. When I got there I was shocked with the number of students in the office, trying to get registered too. The number of students on the queue was too much.
I joined them in the queue, as I joined the other students,I Looked round the scshomolthe school is known to be one of the best business schools in the world and that is the reason why students come in their great numbers to study here.
There were different students, students from different part of the globe. And also of different skin colours. Some of the students seems to have known each other as I saw some of them talking and laughing in little groups of about three to four persons.
When it got to my turn, I presented my documents to the Academic director and she cross checked every detail to be sure it was perfect. From my name down to the slightest of the details, it was obvious that the school does not give room to cheating nor compromise their standard for any reason.
Later I saw some students at the far end of the school premises, whom were not granted access into the school as some of their documents were not complete and some of them were not eligible to get into the school.
Luckily for Rose and I, our documents were accurate. My documents were accurate because I have taken enough time in arranging it, ever since I got the mail that I was offered admission into the the school, my dad had made sure that everything does not go wrong as he could not afford to see me loose entry into the school for one reason or another.
We were later directed to the hall where our lectures would be taking place. A man in his mid fifties came to the class to introduce himself as the lead lecturer and promised that other lectures would come to introduce themselves as time goes by.
I was so much impressed by the way the school was handled. Everything was done orderly, there was no room for cheating nor bribery, everyone was attended to with respect and accordingly and there was no time for favoritism, everyone was treated fairly. Whether rich or poor, even it is high, middle or low class, everyone was the same and got same treatment.
After the day's activities I went back to the hotel. I looked for my way back to the hotel, it was not easy locating my way as every road liked the same, luckily I was able to locate my way back to the hotel as I boarded a taxi to the hotel.
I decided it would be best to get an apartment instead of lodging in the hotel, I browser through my phone to see if I could get agent or someone that could help me secure a good and comfortable apartment close to my school.
After I searched through the internet, luckily I was able to come across an agency that could helpe in getting an apartment. While searching for agency, I came across so many house agencies but I would not like to mistake of employing the help of incompetent ones, so I was very careful in selecting agencies, I looked through the different ones I came across, I checked their years of experience and the comments of people who have patronized their services and when I came across the one I was okay with,I quickly took their contact to contact them.
I dialled the office phone number I saw on their website and someone answered the call immediately.
I spoke to the person and gave the descriptions of the kind of apartment I would be needing, and he confirmed they have something of that kind for me, someone close to the school.
I was so much filled with joy knowing that I would no longer have to stay in the hotel and I could be going to school from the apartment which is very close to the school.
I inquired from the agecy if it would be possible for me to see the apartment immediately. I was informed I could see the house immediately, I sent a text of where I was ,so that they could direct me in how to locate the place where the apartment is.
In an hour's time, the agency sent someone to take to see the place. We both drove with the agency car to the location. The apartment was quite a very nice one, it was situated in the heart of the city and very close to my school. I went into to check the interior of the house, it looked very beautiful a already furnished, they inquired that if I needed the one that is not furnished so that I can be able to buy the furniture of my choice and other home decors . But I told them ,I was okay with tbe already furnished apartment.
I opted for the already furnished apartment since I can not go through vthe stress of going around the city to buy furni since I was not quite familiar with the environment nor do I have someone to do that for me here.
After the whole running around the town and checking of apartment, I went back to hotel so tired and same time exhausted.
I quickly went into the bathroom to take a bath.
I called Albert to hear from him and to know what has been happening since I was away. He informed me that he heard from a reliable source my uncle has sacked most of the workers at company and employed new workers.
I was shocked and dumbfounded, I could not believe him, I asked him how serious he was and he confirmed to the me that it was really the truth, how could my uncle sack most of the workers, probably they might have done something really, really wrong. I asked Albert to help me find out what in particular was the reason for the Massive sack, and he said my uncle did not make mention of any reason.
I asked him if he could get me the names of the workers that was relieved off their duties. He told me that the news is already in the internet and social media, I searched through through the social media, since our family business is quite a very prominent and popular one and one of the biggest in tbe country most of the news or things that happens within it always appears on in the national failed and even on the social media.
I quickly did a fussy search and found out from the lists that my uncle had actually sacked some of the most important people in tbe company, most of which were employed by dad, very hard working and dedicated staff of the company.
What could be the reason why he sacked them all, was the question I kept asking myself and thought about it for a very long time.
This people that he sacked from the company without any replacement can cause the downfall of the company because if these people are not replaced with capable hands, the company would not be able to be very productive and which might affect the resources of the company.
Most of the workers who's names where on the sack list,were employed a very long time ago,and since the time of their employment till now they have being very loyal and hard working and they are trusted with the company funds and resources and yet they have maintained their accountability over the the years which is one the reasons my dad have retained them in the company for a very long time and usually compensates them with promotion almost every year.
On several occasions the company have almost gone bankrupt due to misappropriation of funds but this people has helped the company to bounce and regained it's stand in economic and financial state it is till today and now he wants to sack them all?
