Chapter19

I could not get myself to answer doctor Albert's question immediately, I did not know what I should give him, because the truth is that I have not really given his proposal any thoughts, I had other things that occupied my mind. I had so many things going on in my head and in my mind.
"You do not have to be in a hurry to answer me okay,I just want you to have a deep thought about it and also bear in mind that I truly care about you" Doctor Albert said to me.
I was relieved, I did not have to answer his questions. He is such a cool gentleman, I like the fact that he did not have to rush me to answer his questions nor demand an immediate response from me. Taking it cool shows he is a patient type.
I was beginning to fall in love with doctor Albert, but I did not want to make it all known, I wanted to take things slow and see where it leads us.
"Thank you," I muttered.
I excused myself to go outside to see Fabian and hand him one of the food packs, I had actually forgotten to give it to him, it was in the doctor 's office I remembered.
"Hey Fabian, here is your lunch pack, I am sorry, I forgot to give it to you before going into the hospital". I explained to him
"Thank you ma'am,this means a lot to me" He said and accepted the food pack from my hands and headed back into the car to have his lunch.
I noticed that ever since doctor Albert started making moves towards me, he has not requested for my dad's bills, I was surprised and I had to go back into his office to inquire of that from him.
"Hey doctor Albert, I have something to ask" I said to him as I got to his office.
"Go ahead Erica, what is is you would want to ask" He replied
"Well, I noticed you have not asked me for any fee, for some time now,I mean not even a fee for drugs or anything that you might have been using most recently." He told him, expecting answers from him.
" Oh about that, everything that is used for your dad is being accurately documented, and the bill will be presented to you when your dad is ready to leave the hospital." He told me.
" Oh okay,that is good I thought you stopped asking me for the money" I told him.
I was glad he was keeping track and the recordings of things going on in the hospital goes a long way to show how accountable he is and it means he does not joke with his job.
I was desperate to know what my dad's situation would be like, but doctor Albert keeps assuring me that everything will be fine and that my dad will soon get to leave the hospital. I so much wanted my dad back to his normal self but it became obvious that it will really be difficult for him to return to his old self. I silently prayed for his quick recovery.
I stayed in doctor Albert office for some more minutes, he excused himself to go attend to some of his patients, I had to go back to my dad's hospital bed. I met my dad awake ,he was just staring into the blank space. I felt pity for him, I wished I could be able to change all the unpleasant things that has happened in life this short period of time.
"Hey Dad" I called out to him excitedly seeing him awake.
"How are you doing dad?" I tried to speak with him.
He looked at me with his gloomy eyes.
I took my time to stay with him for a long period of time..
From the look on his face, I could tell that he was really happy seeing me stay with him in the hospital.
Some of the nurses just wanted to help them in attending to my dad. I know it is not easy attending to a sick person..
As much as it is not easy being at the hospital all this while everyone else is at their respective homes and having a nice time with their loved ones, family and friends.
With the the things that has been happening recently, I no longer have time to read my books, one of the criteria of entering the university that offers me admission abroad is to pass an entry exam upon arrival.
I went outside the hospital to send a message bro Fabian, surprisingly ,I saw Fabian taking and laughing with one the nurses outside the hospital, the manner at which the nurse laughed at Fabian's jokes or whatever he might be telling, Whatever they were discussing must have being very interesting as the nurse chukled with laughter. I wanted to go and call Fabian from his discussion but I decided against it, I decided not to spoil the gun he was having.
I wondered what Fabian might be discussing with the nurse,she seemed so interested in whatever he was saying as most of her attention was grossed in it.
I think Fabian wants to flirt with the nurses, does this mean he has nothing serious going on between him and Beatrice, or they were both just having some flings and spending good moments together, including have sex.
Talking about sex, it has really been a while since I got to have sex. The last time I had sex was with Ken, I had met Ken in one of the supermarket where I normally go to get my toiletries. After picking some of the things I wanted ,he offered to pay for my items but I refused him not using his, but instead he insisted on paying for the things I bought, after settling the bills.
Ken waited for me outside the supermarket so that we could exchange contacts. I obliged him with the honor of having my mobile cell phone number, my private number.
He kept calling and kept keeping in touch until he invited me to his apartment. We had both seen movies together, the movies we watched had lots sex scene in it. After watching the movie, Ken started to kiss me passionately and I responded.
I could not get myself to stop kissing him, I was really enjoying the taste of his lips. It got to a point, we both became so wet that we could not keep the desire burning in us. Ken and I made love right there on his couch. The memory of that sex still lingers in my head because it was such a good and unforgettable experience. After that day, I lost contact with Ken. I have searched for him everywhere but I do not seem to find.
So I guess probably Fabian could be that type of guy, but I really wish he does not hurt Beatrice because Beatrice is such a nice lady.
I went back into the hospital to inform them that I was ready to leave for home. I met doctor Albert in the hallway.
"Hey doctor,I am ready to leave right now" I informed him.
"Okay Erica,do take care of yourself" he said to me.
'I Will and please do take care of my dad" .
I went outside again to check if Fabian was ready for us to leave, I met him waiting for me in the car.
"Let's go home Fabian ," I told him, as soon as I got into the car.
He took a reverse and we headed back to the house. On the way to the house I put a call to Beatrice to inquire of what we would be having for dinner. She said will be having rice and chicken sauce. I told her to make me pork and broccoli instead as I was already craving for it.
We rode silently on the road which was becoming much less busy as the day continued to get dark. Except in places like eateries which still have people around looking for what to eat for dinner, those who do not have the time to fix some food for themselves in the house.
I got home very tired and exhausted. I quickly went into my room to have shower, I had a cold shower changed to my house coat and went downstairs to have my dinner. The meal was very delicious and I enjoyed it.
After my dinner I decided to retire to bed to have some sleep, and also have a rest, then I thought of calling my uncle so that I could ask him what the meeting he scheduled earlier today was about since I did not get to be in attendance. I have been expecting him to call me to tell me what they discussed and how the meeting went, since I did not get any call from him. I took my phone to dial his number and luckily it went through.
