Chapter 43

I was exhausted after the welcoming party but smae time I was so happy about it, lots of things has changed in this few months that I was away, I was happy that the staffs stayed while I was away.
I decided to go into my room to have a good sleep, the room was tastefully arranged and full of nice smelling fragrances, my staff has done a very good job in keeping my room in order, everything including my clothes were all at exactly how I had kept them before traveling to Miami to study.
I heard a knock on the door and I wondered who it was.
"Hey, who is there?" I asked.
"It is me Ethan," The voice from outside the room said.
'Ethan'? I asked myself in a low voice
How did he get to know that this is exactly where my room is and what exactly is he doing here at my door.
"Hey Ethan just wait a second," I said and went to get the door for him.
"Hey beautiful," he greeted.
"Hey Ethan, what are you doing here, and how did you find out that this is where my room is?" I asked him with surprise in my face.
"I am sorry if I am disturbing you dear," he apologized and made to leave.
"No,no you are not disturbing me, actually, I was just being curious about how were able to locate my room," I quickly explained to him.
"Well, your uncle showed me the way to your room, I hope you do not mind?" He asked me.
"No Ethan," I replied.
"Thank you, I can to ask you if you enjoyed the party and to say a good night to you,"
"Yeah, I really enjoyed the party and I am very greateful to you for organizing such a wonderful party for me, I can not thank you enough," I responded.
"Okay then, thank you and goodnight,can I please have your personal phone number," he said.
"That number you called when you came to receive me from the airport,that is my personal phone number," I replied.
"Thanks again," he said and we both said our goodbyes.
I closed the door and went back into my room, Ethan seems to know so much about me,he knows the things,I like and my uncle even showed him the way to room. What else does he know? I thought.
I quiet agree that Ethan is coool and gentleman, he seems to be everywhere around me.
I stepped into the bathtub to have my bath, I stayed insided it to have a feel of the cold and refreshing water in the bathtub.
Ethan's show love and care towards me is something I could not comprehend even though I like his showing of love to and gks he cares too. I guess he just wants to impress me and truely I am impressed, I smiled, turned off the lights and slept.
I woke up the next morning feeling very energetic, I stood and had my bath and went down stairs to have my breakfast, after eating. I thought of what to do since I can not just be sitting idle at home and doing nothing.
I decided it will be good if I go to the company to see how things were done so far since I left the country.
I stood up and searched for a nice work dress and I when decided on the one to wear, I headed to the office, I called my driver to come take in me to the office.
I thought of the things I would meet when I get to the office, I know a lot of things might have changed since some of the workers were sacked, I hoped to meet a better and more profitable works, I hoped that things have turn for the better and more resources have been achieved.
As soon as I got to the office there were lots of cheering and greetings from the workers, they were so happy to see me most especially the old workers who have met and known me for before now. The new workers introduced themselves to me and also welcomed me.
I walked round the company checking everything that needed to be checked, when I got to the financial records I found out that there were lots of misappropriation of funds. A lot of funds were gone without trace.
I requested to see the company accountant,but to my surprise the account have also been sacked and replaced with someone I am not familiar with and has no records.
I sent for him immediately.
"Mr I was told that you are the new accountant is that right," I asked him.
"Yes ma'am," he answered.
"So what happened to most of the company funds, so much money is missing without a trace, how do you explain that?" I queried him.
"Well, you can ask sir Anthonio about the funds, I was remit everything to him,"he answered.
My uncle knows a about the missing funds? What could he have done with such amount of money without anything to show for it.
I kept checking the company records and I noticed that the company is gradually going down.
I quickly called my uncle on the phone but he did not answer his call.
I decided to go his house and speak to him face to face.
I got to his house and found Ethan's car packed outside the house, I went in and saw Ethan drinking and discussing with my uncle.
I changed my mind about discussing the issue if the company fund with my uncle in the presence of Ethan since it is a confidential discussion.
"Hello Erica,you came in right in time, come and join us and have fun," My uncle said.
"What is the celebration uncle," I asked him.
"My dear Erica there so much to celebrate, let say I am celebrating my wins," he added and laughed out loud.
"Wins? What wins uncle," I asked him.
