Chapter 55

It was the day for the court hearing, I woke up with so much missed feelings, a part of me, wants to forgive my uncle and Ethan and let them go, since I still have everything that belonged to my dad, another voice in my head wants them both to pay for everything they did to me.
I went to my closet to pick a dress for the court hearing. I called Albert to see if he would be coming to the court.
"Hello, Albert, would you be coming to the court for the hearing," I asked him.
"Of course yes, I mean why would I not be there for you, I know that this case means a lot to you, so I would always be there to comfort you," he assured me.
"Thank you so much Albert," I replied.
I set out to the the court, I had wanted to drive myself to the court but with the hurt I am feeling in my heart due to the betrayal and everything that is has happened, I decided to allow the driver drive me there himself.
My uncle and Ethan would be appearing in court to face the judge. This is the first time any of my family member would be appearing in tbe court for a crime, and worst is that it is my uncle that I charged to court, I found the news on the city's national dailies, but I was more than determined to achieve all that I wanted, and as for Ethan, I already had our marriage annulled.
I dressed up and and I drove off with my driver, I really hoped that the Justice that we deserve is granted to us, because my uncle has caused more than enough friends.
We got to the court and I saw my attorney standing outside already waiting for me. He came in Company of some members of his chamber, they were in a group of two wim
"Good morning , attorney ,you are here already" I greeted.
"Hi Mis Tyler, Yes I have to be here early because lateness is not acceptable here," he replied.
"I just hope that I can finally be happy and go about my businesses, so that my dad would be happy wherever he is as I get Justice for him, I just hope that nothing is compromised and the justice denied," I said.
"You do not have to worry,the judge handling this case is a very good judge who does not joke with people's lives," he explained.
I was a bit relieved with attorney's Raul's explanation.
We into the court to sit down, the case was the second to be called. The accuessed, the suspect and the lawyers, we all took our respective positions and the hearing began.
I was so nervous, my uncle had hired a very good as well, he kept smiling all through the time his attorney was speaking.
After what seemed like forever, it was time to hear the final judgement from the Judge,it was the height of it all. I was so restless,I just wished this whole thing was not happening.
The judge cleared her throat to speak.
"Having heard from both parties, and their attorney, here are my findings and my judgement...
The moment she made this statement, there was silence in the court room and everyone wanted to hear what will be the final decision of the court.
"Mr Ethan this honourable court has found you guilty of consipiracy, and sentenced to five years imprisonment with an option for bail. Mr Anthonio Woods, you are guilty of murder and hereby sentenced to life imprisonment, that is my judgement," the judge concluded.
I was happy with the judgement, it was good to see that the court did not compromise their standard for any reason. I was more than joyful.
"Congratulations Miss Erica, you won the case and justice served," attorney Raul congratulated me.
"Thank you attorney, this would not have been possible without your excellent performance, you really did great, thank you again," I said. Shaking hands with him.
"This calls for celebration" I added.
We outside the court jubilating. I was so happy that I got my property documents intact and everything that my dad had worked so hard for.
Albert and I hugged ourselves so tight.
"I am so happy for you Erica, I am glad that you won this case," Albert said.
Albert suggested we go out to celebrate with a drink.
We drove to a nearby lounge to celebrate it, it was my first time going out to a lounge, we partied for the first time, we had a good number of drinks and when it was getting dark we want back to the house.
