Chapter 21

After speaking to Beatrice about her activities, I ate my food silently, I know I am not a saint and I have had my own moments of sex escapades but I would definitely not do it a work environment nor will I disrespect my boss..

I am glad Beatrice felt remorseful for her actions and has promised not to repeat it again.

The meal was very delicious and I really loved homemade meals. I remember when I was in my first grade my mum would wake up very early to make my breakfast and give me some to take to the school with me.

Ever since my mum died , I have not gone to her room to check the things there, so after my meal , I went upstairs to my mums room to check some of her items. I found some personal documents, beautiful fashion clothes and also some sets of jewelry . I saw some of the pieces of jewelry my dad had bought for her at one of their anniversary celebrations.

I took all the jewelries to my room, zi left get clothes there in the room, as I would decide what I will do with it.
I got a call from the doctor to be at the hospital.

" Doctor, I hope there is no problem" I asked him, feeling worried because of the urgency in his voice.

" There is no problem Erica, I just wanted to inform you about something that has to do with your dad" he Said..
Hearing that is something that has to do with my dad, I quickly got a dress from my closet and headed to the hospital immediately.I could not wait for my driver Fabian to finish what he was doing , I drove myself to the hospital.

When I got to the hospital, I rushed to doctor Alberts office immediately, he was not in the office, I was told he is attending to the patients in the ward. I went to look for him myself because I did not want to waste a single time
"Hey doctor". I greeted him, seeing him from afar.

" Hery Erica, you are here already, you came in really quick" doctor Albert asked her.

"Oh common doctor, the urgency in your voice could not make me waste one bit.", I replied to him..
"Well, I saw something that could help your dads health, so I decided to inform you if it will be okay ," he said.

"Go ahead and tell me doctor, you know I am so much interested in anything that will be beneficial to my dad, you know how I would love him to leave the hospital as soon as possible." I told him.

"Okay then, let us go to my office at once" doctor Albert said.

I followed him to his office, he led the way to his office while I followed him closely behind. .

"You see Erica there, some of my friends in a more advanced country with advanced technologies, I spoke to them about your dads health and they agreed to help me look into his matter, " he told me.

"Well, that is a good idea, doctor,so what should I do," I asked him.

" You will have to sign some documents and equally give your permission for him to leave this place to the new place where he will be taken off and treated" he told me.

I told him I was ready to sign any document especially if it will get my dads health back. He put a call to his secretary to come to the office for further instructions. Immediately, the secretary came in at once. Doctor Albert took his mobile cell phone and dialed a number in it, after the call he made , he instructed the secretary to go call one of the nurses on duty.

Few minutes later a nurse came to his office. He instructed the nurse to disengage my dad from the room he is in and prepare him to be moved out of the hospital. He also instructed the nurse to go inform the driver of the hospital ambulance to get ready as there will be an emergency.

When he was sure everything was ready,he brought out some documents for me to sign. I read the details of the document as though my life and that of my dad depends on it.

The information contained in the documents stated that my dad will be going to a specialist who will handle his case because the injury he sustained has affected his bones, and it needs to be looked into else he would not be able to ever walk again till the end of his life.

I read the document thoroughly and signed where necessary and handed the documents back to the doctor.

He looked into it and when he was sure and satisfied that I had done and signed all I needed to sign,he put it back in one of the files on his table.

I waited in the doctors office while the nurses got busy helping my dad get out of bed. After they helped get my dad out of bed. We all headed to the ambulance outside where my dad was wheeled into and the driver took off.

The look of face changed immediately, I was once again enveloped with sadness, I guess doctor Albert noticed the look on my face and he held my hand assuring me that everything will be alright.

I do not know where these doctors draw their strength from, even in a time like this, they also stand strong and keep assuring one that things will turn out fine even when they are not sure if it will. Somehow I believed things will turn out fine, I did not want to be negative about anything or any situation.

I followed the doctor back to his office.

"So doctor, how do I get to see my dad on a daily basis?" I asked him.

"Hey dads girl, but I am sorry you will not be able to see him daily. You will be informed by the clinic even if you will be coming to see him, that is why you filled those documents,your contact and everything that they will be needing is there already, and you will be called anytime they need something from you" He explained to me.
"That is okay" I replied to him.

All I ever wanted was for my dad to get well. Even if I do not get to see him daily, at least I am sure he is well taken care of and his health will improve.

I followed them to the new clinic where my dad was transferred to. It was a very big clinic, way bigger than that of doctor Alberts. It was made of different units and each unit specialized in handling one problem. Each unit had different doctors and nurses attached to it. They all seemed very busy with work, including the non medical staff. I hardly visit the hospital so I was not really familiar with some of the things I saw there or how they operate, I just had to follow the staff that came with us from doctor Albert hospital , Albert had insisted his staff followed us to make sure the necessary documents were filled correctly following his past medical records from where we were coming from, the staff and I followed the directions to the clinic medical records unit to have my dads details filled in the file that was given to us to fill.my dad was wheeled to the room in the ward where his type of case was being handled. The ward had other patients in it, the patients had some of their relatives sitting close to their bedside attending to them, while some paid for special services of a private nurse to look after them. Perhaps this was the people who had no one around to stay with them.

I asked one of the nurses if I will have to stay but she said I could arrange for a private nurse to stay with my dad if I have other things to attend to. It was a nice and welcomed idea, so I told her to help me make arrangements for a private nurse to come while I was still in the hospital. She promised to make an inquiry for me .. I was glad and thanked her.

Few minutes later a nurse in her late twenties was brought, she looked and seems very nice as I discussed briefly with her. I told her what is expected of her and she accepted we equally discussed about her payment, the payment will not be an issue as long as she takes very good care of my dad and makes sure she does all that is expected of her.

When we both concluded, I paid her half of her money and left for home.

I got to the house very tired and exhausted, I quickly went into my room, had a quick shower and slept off.
