Saving Macy: Part 1

"Right, let's go over it one last time, Landon." He nodded nervously. We were now parked just outside of the grand gates of Barsotti Manor.
"Basically, I just stick to you like glue the entire time."
"And now for the reason why?"
He turned towards me pleadingly. "Do I really need to say it out loud?"
I nodded firmly and he sighed, giving in. "Because I can't be trusted when Jared is around."
"Good boy. Yes, that's right. So, you stay with me and do exactly what I say, when I say it."
He scoffed and, before we exited the car, said, "I traded being Damon's bitch for being yours, clearly."
I rolled my eyes at him, and then interlinked our arms now able to do so comfortably with the extra height provided to me from my red high heels. Admittedly, I looked quite different today. My red dress clung to my body tightly and had a large slit from the hem of it to just above mid-thigh and both my back and much of my stomach were left exposed. It left little to the imagination, in all honesty, and as we made our way towards the endless line to the open door of the Jared's childhood home, many eyes gazed up at me hungrily.
"Told you the dress was a good idea." Landon whispered. I said nothing and continued walking forward, passing the row of people. It had Landon quite confused, and he asked, "Are we not going to the back of the line?"
I chuckled. "A line? Wow Landon, you have got to be the most boring Beta in the world. Just watch and learn."
We made it to the front of the house where two bouncers stood with a list of names. As soon as they gazed up at me and watched me push in front of a couple of people, the man to my right said, sternly, "I'm sorry Miss, but you are going to have to go to the back of the line."
I replied to this with a quick smile and then swiftly grabbed both his head and the head of his partner and bashed them together painfully. Both fell to the floor, limp, and the crowd around me gasped in horror as they gazed at the two unconscious males, and then at me. Landon was no exception and just stood there frozen. I tapped him on the shoulder, finally pulling him from his daze and said, "Come on, let's go." He didn't say a word, instead, he just followed me along with the rest of the people who still seemed shocked but made no move to utter a single word to me. When we entered, I felt a winded sensation as I stared at the magnificence of the place. Crystal chandeliers, golden statues, ice sculptures, caterers with champagne and a large array of guests dressed in the finest clothes I had ever seen. It honestly seemed otherworldly to me, and, although I had been to my fair share of extravagant events, none measured up to the absolute sophisticated opulence this one reeked of.
"Champagne?" A waitress offered. I declined and declined on Landon's eager behalf.
"No alcohol. We need to be sober for this to work."
He huffed but made no effort to question me. Instead, he let go of me and said, "Why don't I just go and do my job and you do yours separately. I promise I won't do anything stupid." His eyes were pleading and genuine, and so I agreed, hoping that Landon would not disappoint me.
I began wondering around the party, keeping my ears at an annoyingly heightened sense to pick up any familiar voices. The sooner I could see all ten of my former vigilante group, the sooner I could mind-link them with less risk of having any other wolves intercepting my conversation. After a while of looking, I finally caught sight of Viktor, Kristal, Peter and Blake sitting at the bar... drinking. I shook my head at them disapprovingly, and then got to work looking for the rest. Yuki was on the dance floor along with Cody and Rene. Jared was standing in the corner, conversing with what seemed to be the chef, and Damon... he stood with Loren. Both stood side-by-side leaning against the wall. At first, seeing everyone gave me a sense of being overwhelmed but, after I had calmed down, and reassured myself that I was actually here to save Macy, I took a deep breath, and concentrated on the ten different people my thoughts needed to reach.
"Did you all miss me?" I asked. Immediately, each person began turning around frantically, looking for me within the mass of people. I stayed hidden though and continued to speak telepathically.
"Whatever your plan is, you are going to now need to change it. I want the strongest of us guarding the doors the second Andrew gets here. But please, do not make yourself suspicious, you will need to each choose a different door and attend to it a moment's wait after each other. There are three visible exits here, so I'll need Damon, Yuki and Blake on doors. Jared, you will do the honor of listening to his conversations and reporting it to us. If at anytime you hear that there might be a threat occurring, you will be in charge of mind-linking the others. Cody and Rene, you two are the most charismatic, and as such I will need you in charge of evacuation when things do get rowdy, it should take no more than, and listen to me carefully here, two minutes. I trust that you will be able to get everyone out within those two minutes. Viktor, Kristal and Peter, I want you outside, guarding the perimeter. Tonight, is all about defense and keeping Andrew and Macy inside. Loren, you and I will be in charge of Macy and Andrew close-range. You will approach him with me and, as soon as you see the opportunity, and have read the signs, I want you to take her from him and then take her to Jared. Lastly, I thought it best to inform you, Jared, that Landon is here, and that he will also be involved in my plan, so when I say 'go' I need you to immediately notify every single person so they can be on standby and so the evacuation process can begin."
I saw Jared stiffen and excuse himself from the person he was engaged in a conversation with.
"Landon is here?"
I nodded, and then after realising no one could see me nod, gave a curt, "Yes."
"How could you-"
"When I say 'go' you'll be ready. Is that understood? You follow what I say, no questions asked. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm closing this mind-link. All communication from now on will go solely through Jared."
I hesitated for a second, now, quite nervous in what I was wearing, and admittedly nervous at seeing everyone, hoping that I wouldn't burst into tears when they saw my face. Then, I began walking forward, towards an area to the centre of the large room, clear of people. Damon immediately met my eyes, and his own began widening.
"Jasmine." He uttered, before taking quick strides towards me, never taking his eyes off of mine. Loren looked at him confused, and then froze as she saw me. Her eyes quickly shifted from me to him and a small smile appeared on her face.
I, on the other hand was terrified. In fact, I'd been urging my body to move and walk away from him, but my body denied me, freezing me in place, and by the time I could move, he was literally standing in front of me. I looked down nervously, saying nothing when suddenly his arms enclosed around me and brought me tightly against his chest, practically drenching me in his scent. I waited a while before giving in and snaking my arms around him, finally taking in how much I actually did miss his irritating presence in my life.
Eventually, however, I began seeing the stares pointed towards us, and I let him go, folding my arms in front of me. "If we keep that kind of behaviour up, I'm sure we'll create a giant scandal- 'Damon Michaels hugs mysterious woman at charity gala'."
He nodded curtly and began behaving exceptionally formal as he took a quick glance at the people watching us. "Right, well, it's good to see you, ma'am." And with that, he began walking forward, past me, but not before grazing his hand across mine and sending me a smile from over his shoulder. The encounter left me slightly disoriented and I was grateful for Loren who replaced his presence, distracting me from the buzzing thoughts of him.
"I was right about you. You did show up."
"Am I that predictable?" I chuckled and smiled. She mirrored my action and then her face softened in sincerity and began looking down. "I really am sorry for keeping secrets from you..."
I took her hand in mine and she looked up, quite startled. "It's okay. I forgive you, Loren Parker."
Immediately, she grabbed me and pulled me into a tight hug. It was the second time I'd been hugged in one day and I was not sure I even smelled like me anymore. Once she pulled away, she held a hand out and said, shall we sit down together and wait for Andrew to show up? You can tell me all about the time you spent without us."
I agreed and we found a table to sit at. I didn't really have long to talk to her, until Jared's voice echoed in my head. "He's here." I tensed up immediately and felt the nerves rush to my stomach. I wanted this to be the last time that we'd ever see Andrew, and I wanted Macy to be safe.
Immediately, when I saw him, my blood began boiling hot with rage. Strung along his arm was a pale Macy who had dark, thick purple circles around her eyes. She did not at all look impressed with him. With them were a few of what I suspected to be some of his guards. By the looks of it, they were not too difficult for the team to take down, and if everything went as planned this would all be over within the hour.
"Jared, tell Damon, Blake and Yuki to assume position and emphasise discretion. We do not want to scare him away yet." Jared, who had now discovered my own location nodded towards me.
The first stop Andrew made was to the bar. Jared was listening in on him and his conversations so Loren and I kept our eyes on him, waiting for more information and as we did, I took the opportunity to speak, perhaps one final time before the chaos was to ensue. "Listen, as soon as you have an opening, you grab her, go to Jared and then I want you both out of here as fast as possible-"
"But-"
"No buts, she's been held captive long enough, okay? I need you to do this for me, please?" She bit her lip, and then nodded slowly.
Soon Jared's voice once again made its way into my head. "Now." Loren and I got up together, hand in hand and began nearing the bar table.
"Mr. Walker-" I began speaking, and he turned around immediately, eyebrows furrowed and shock evident on his face, "-it's been a while."
His glass then dropped from his hand and shattered on the floor. Macy, however, had a look of relief all over her face. In fact, it looked as though she were just about to cry.
Loren and I took a seat alongside them. Me next to Andrew, and her next to Macy.
Andrew, although initially stunned, recovered quickly and smiled, "Miss Emerson, or should I say, Miss Spectra. What are you doing here, and with Miss Parker?"
I shrugged and said, crossing my leg over, exposing the skin which Andrew stared at hungrily. "This gala was sponsored by my mate's company, but I'm sure you knew that already since my mate invited you here to request a hit on me. But did you know that you are actually being played right now, and that Damon and I were actually living in the same building when you decided to hurt Timmy?" His eyes began to widen, and his hands began shaking. "You mean..."
"Yes, Andrew, this is all a set up." He took a quick glance around and immediately I closed my eyes and exclaimed, telepathically, "Go!"
Immediately the lights went out, leaving the entire place in utter darkness- courtesy of Landon. The people gasped in shock and soon, I began hearing Cody and Rene guiding them out. Andrew looked around confused and soon his confusion developed into horror. He attempted to stand up, but I grabbed him and pushed him to the floor, kneeling on his knees and pinning down his wrists. Loren immediately grabbed Macy and bolted right passed the disoriented bodyguards- once again, courtesy of Landon. Once the two minutes were up, the lights were back on and the temporary disorientation felt by Andrew's bodyguards had run its course. They immediately tore me off of his body and I landed on all fours. I looked up, eyes red and teeth bared at them and snuck a quick glance towards where Jared once was. I was relieved to find that he, Macy and Loren were nowhere to be found and that now, the entire place was clear save for our little gathering of people. Andrew began to wear a spine-chilling smile and started rolling up the cuffs of his shirt, before saying, "Did you honestly think I didn't come to a place like this prepared?" Finally, I began to realise that his shock and horror was all just a façade.
Soon the doors burst open, pushing Damon, Blake and Yuki out of the way and to the floor, and the entire place was soon swarmed with what I assumed to be the members of Andrew’s pack.
"They told me about the little stunt your group of vigilantes pulled at my family casino, and so I budgeted on something like this."
I, on the other hand, did not budget for anything like this. I was, however, glad that Macy was safe, and I was glad that I had my family with me to get me through this battle.
