A DAY AFTER THE DECADE ANNIVERSARY REUNION
**Hello diary,
So uhm, I was supposed to end this entry yesterday but my plans didn't go as expected. Mum attended the anniversary with Aunt Mel but Aunt Mel came back early and without mum. That's not even the main reason I'm here, guess who came to see us yesterday. Yes! Jay Harley.
I couldn't believe my eyes, mum never mentioned him to us before but she came back from the party in his car. Something fishy is going on and she's keeping it secret from us, I'm definitely going to find out but I'd have to do something I would regret later on
Can you believe people actually have butlers in real life? That's just crazyy......**
'I swear, I left it on the chair. I didn't take it anywhere with me, believe me" Someone was pleading with another person and the typist was losing her mind.
There wasn't much peace in the typist's life with two annoying brothers to deal with and it was more of a curse than a blessing. Whoever said having double of yourself was a good thing?
'Maddieeeee!!!!!" One of the two voices screamed out her name and she groaned loudly. Why can't anyone get a moment of peace in this house?
AMBER'S POV
THE NEXT DAY
Saturdays were less horrible than I had anticipated when my kids started growing up. There wasn't school so I thought I'd have to spend the whole day yelling and chasing them around like my mum used to do when I was growing up but my triplets were totally different. Instead of me spending the day babysitting, my 10 year olds usually spent the day taking care of me instead.
I wasn't exactly complaining but the were 10, at that age all I did was steal lots and lots of cookies, no one is that organized at that age. Which was the main reason why I was suspicious of my triplets, how were they doing it?
'Maddieeeee!!!" Someone yelled out for the third time and I threw the pillow away from my head. I'd been awake for about 30 minutes trying to get some me time before I had to deal with the children and face my new lease in life but my 10 year olds were reminding me I had too much expectations of them. They were just 10.
I wasn't sure who was screaming but I knew it was time to get up and face the children and a new day, there was no use sulking when I was awake already. I had to reach out to Mel and also call Jay Harley with the number he had slipped into the jacket before he left it folded on the chair I had sat on earlier that night.
'Maddieeeee!!! Get over here, right now!!" The person yelled again and I knew immediately who it was before I climbed down the stairs. Frankie had a thing for giving orders and Maddie had a thing for defying them.
She yelled as she got out of their room, 'I've been trying to do something else with my life that doesn't involve disturbing the sweet sweet peace of this house" She shot he brothers daggers but Frankie shot her a look that could kill a bird and Danny shrugged as he answered,
'We need you to do something for us, something that's more important than the stupid journal you've been writing" Maddie's face was so red I was scared it was going to catch fire.
' Why bave you been going through my stuff?!" She screamed as she dashed towards them. I knew it was going to be war if I didn't intervene, so I called out from the kitchen where I had entered without their knowledge.
'What's the matter, Frankie?" I made my voice loud enough for him to hear over all the noises Maddie and Danny were making as they kept on arguing. I heard footsteps approaching as my eldest son walked into the kitchen.
Frankie was the exact replica of his father and it always surprised me that no one could see the resemblance. A frown was fixed on his face as he voiced out his grievances,
'Jay Harley's jacket, I can't find it. Did you perhaps see it?" he grumbled under his breath as he walked up to the counter where I was busy making breakfast for all of us, ignoring the pie Mrs Carol had made the previous night.
There's this saying, 'The way to a man's heart is through his stomach" and no truer words had ever been said cause I had a feeling the statement was made specifically for my triplets. The ultimate way to make them happy or to get them to do stuffs that they should have done on their own and without any form of persuasion, was to make their favorite dish and that was the exact scope I was using.
I kept on chopping the vegetables as Frankie stood next to me, waiting patiently for me to give a response to the question he had asked. I knew exactly where Jay Harley's jacket was cause I was the one who took it along with the note he had written and left on the chair but I was also trying to cut off whatever connection the kids were trying to form with the ex basket baller so I took the approach best known to me, lies.
Frankie's blue eyes bored into mine as I placed the knife on the table and turned to him, 'He took the jacket with him when he left" The look he gave me was so obvious. When Jay Harley left, I wasn't in the room so how did I know he left with the jacket?
'I don't recall him leaving with the jacket, mum" he stated and I groaned inaudibly. Why did God have to bless me with such smart kids?
'I've found it!" Someone yelled from the room upstairs and I froze. Smart kids were a complete menace.
