Chapter 14

Rudolf's POV
Hannah suddenly became angry, and to my surprise, she took off her clothes in front of me. “You think I want you just for money? I can do this without you!” she shouted angrily.
I was shocked and confused by her extreme reaction. She seemed to think that by showing off her body, she could change my mind and get money in a different way.
“Hannah, this is not the right way to approach this situation!” I said, trying to keep my voice calm while trying to look away.
“So what? Are you not interested anymore? I can give you anything, but you only care about money,” she said, her face excited, but I could tell that underneath it all, there was a lot of pain and uncertainty.
“It’s not like that, and you know that very well. This is about mutual respect and maintaining our relationship. Forcing or using your body is not going to solve anything,” I replied, disappointed not only by the situation but also by Hannah’s lack of maturity in talking about her feelings.
Hannah stood there, contemplating for a moment, and I could see the struggle inside her. There was a moment of tension in the air, and part of me wished there was a way to salvage the situation without further argument.
“Hannah, I care about you, but we need to talk better. If we can’t communicate, this isn’t going to work,” I said softly, hoping to reach her heart.
At that moment, I hoped she would understand that I wanted to save our relationship, not drive us further apart. But the decision was hers. The atmosphere between us was still tense, and as I looked at her, I knew a change needed to be made—for both of us.
Hannah left after straightening out her clothes, leaving me confused and frustrated. How could I be in a relationship with a woman who was crazy about money? Every time we talked, the same issues would come up again, leaving me feeling uneasy.
Oddly enough, amidst all this chaos, I found myself missing Mikayla. She gave me a different feeling, a comfort that I hadn’t found in my relationship. Days with her felt lighter and more hopeful.
Maybe I could try ordering food with the service she offered. However, to avoid suspicion, I decided to use my secretary's help to make it safer. "Can you order food from this restaurant? Get it from the usual app," I told her.
My secretary nodded, and within a few minutes, the order was confirmed. Anticipation built up in me. I remembered how Mikayla always paid attention to detail when she delivered food. She had an attitude that made me feel special, even for the little things.
And sure enough, a few moments later, Mikayla appeared at my office door with food. She looked beautiful in her work clothes, her smile brightening my day. "Hi! Here's your order," she said as she held out the bag of food.
"Thank you, Miss," my secretary replied, a little awkwardly. It felt strange to meet her in person, so my secretary responded to her.
"You've taken the trouble to come here," my secretary said.
"I'm sure it's no problem. Glad to help!" she smiled, looking excited. There was something pleasant about seeing her, and it was as if all the tension I had felt earlier disappeared.
“Want to join me for a meal?” my secretary offered, I had already told her to do so.
She nodded cheerfully. “Thank you for your offer, Miss. But coming here is already very extraordinary because it’s my first time delivering food to a large company with quite a large portion.”
After Mikayla delivered the food, she excused herself to leave. The atmosphere was pleasant, and as she stepped out, I felt a little empty. There was something about her presence that made me feel more alive.
Not long after that, my secretary reappeared with a box of food which she placed on my desk. “This is for you, Sir,” she said with a smile, she wanted to talk to me for a moment.
“Thank you,” I replied as I opened the box. The food looked delicious, and the fragrant aroma immediately attracted my appetite.
“It seems like you like that girl, Sir,” she continued in a teasing tone. She studied my face for a moment as if looking for signs of deeper feelings.
“Well, what do you think?” I asked, trying to keep the atmosphere light, but inside, I was starting to think about everything that had happened between me and Mikayla.
She smiled broadly. “You seem more cheerful when you’re with her. Usually, you’re more serious and focused on work. Maybe she’s the right person for you. She seems kind, too.”
I nodded slowly, taking in her words. There was some truth to it. When I was with her, I felt more relaxed and able to smile, far from the pressure I usually faced as a CEO.
“She’s different from the others. Makes me feel comfortable and connected,” I said honestly.
“Then why don’t you try to get closer to her?” my secretary said, giving me a suggestion that seemed simple but valuable.
“I don’t know. I’m still hesitant. This all feels so fast, and I don’t want to rush,” I said, thinking about all the steps I had to take. The fear of attachment and expectations made me a little adrift.
“Sometimes, good things come when we least expect them. If there’s a chance for happiness, why not give it a try?” She smiled, offering gentle encouragement.
Facing her words, I felt inspired to take a step further. I wanted to have a genuine relationship with Mikayla, something that would make me feel complete compared to the relationships I had been in before. Right now, I was slowly starting to realize that every moment with her was an opportunity to find true happiness.
“Thanks for the advice. Maybe I’ll think about it,” I said, feeling more optimistic about the future. Despite all the doubts and worries, my heart was starting to open up to the new possibilities that awaited me.
I had to finish my relationship with Hannah first. I was starting to feel that I didn’t want to be labeled as a playboy. My relationship with Mikayla might be new, but I wanted to keep it pure without any past haunting me.
