Chapter 17
Rudolf's POV
With great hope, I promised myself to keep searching and not let the opportunity pass me by. I wanted to keep the hope in my heart—the hope of finding Mikayla and rebuilding the connection that had been broken.
I decided to ask Leo, one of my subordinates at the company, for help. “Leo, I need your help,” I said as we talked in my office. “I’m looking for someone—Mikayla. I want to know where she is now.”
“Yes, sir. I will start looking for her as soon as possible,” Leo replied, looking serious about the task at hand. With the hope that this might bring me closer to Mikayla, I felt a little more at ease.
However, inside me, my wolf was struggling. There was something pulling me back to Mikayla, like a bond that could not be ignored. It felt like a call from deep within my soul—my wolf soul vibrated, reminding me of what I might be missing.
At night, when all seemed deserted, I felt a strong urge to transform. I needed more than a simple search; I wanted to acknowledge everything I felt, how important Mikayla was to me. I wanted to gain recognition from the Moon Goddess, the entity who had always guided the wolves.
Gathering my strength, I initiated the transformation. In the process, my body shook, and I felt the sacredness of every part of me. The night wind blew, and as my vision shifted, I saw the world with new clarity—a world where I could speak to the Moon Goddess.
After a while, I found myself in a secluded place that was used to communicate with the Moon Goddess. With the night sphere brighter, I lifted my head to the sky. “Moon Goddess, I beg you!”
A soft, calm voice from the sky sounded, stepping into my consciousness. “What do you seek, my child?”
“I seek recognition that Mikayla is my mate. She is the love I desire, and I have lost track of her. Please show me the way, so that I can bring her back into my life,” I expressed all my feelings with all my heart, hoping that the Goddess could understand my longing.
The Moon Goddess was silent for a moment as if considering everything I had just said. “True love will always find its way, but believing in yourself is also important. Don’t just look for external guidance, but also pay attention to your inner voice.”
Hearing her words, I pondered deeply. Yes, I had to believe that my feelings for Mikayla were valid, and I had to try harder—not just physically but emotionally as well.
“Will I ever find Mikayla again?” I asked, feeling my hope deepen.
“Whatever you are looking for, if it is truly from your heart, you will find it. Continue your search with confidence,” she replied, her voice fading as the night dew covered the surface of the earth.
With a new feeling of strength, I prepared to return. My soul was now filled with confidence—I would do whatever it took to find Mikayla and fight for the relationship I had always dreamed of. As a wolf, I knew that I had the strength and resilience to use it to reach for the love that had changed my life.
Why hadn’t I gotten any answers from the Moon Goddess? She had always given me definite answers and clear guidance. A sense of unease filled my heart as I tried to understand why, this time, everything seemed different.
It was as if Mikayla had disappeared off the face of the earth. Every effort I made to search for her seemed in vain, and all the time, I felt a growing emptiness without her. Without her, everything felt incomplete.
Right now, I was sitting on the edge of a cliff, gazing up at the full moon that shone brightly, as if it were the only light in the dark night. The sound of the wind rushing past reminded me of fond memories with her—laughter, late-night conversations, and the little moments that made me feel alive.
I remembered how Mikayla filled my heart with warmth and made me brave enough to feel happiness, even after my previous painful relationship with Hannah. This worry is mounting, am I being too selfish in hoping to find happiness again?
“Moon Goddess,” I called out softly, hoping that her presence was still near me. “Please, give me some guidance. Don’t let me get caught up in this uncertainty.”
But tonight, there was only silence. Maybe I needed to do more than just wait for help. Maybe I needed to take more proactive steps and decisions.
I stood up with renewed determination, trying to push away the nagging doubts. If the Moon Goddess didn’t give me direct directions, maybe I would have to fight to find her again.
Suddenly, an idea came to me. I remembered she had told me about specific places she liked—small cafes, parks, or bookstores. Those places might lead me to new clues about her whereabouts.
“I’ll look for her in those places. At least, I can find out if she’s still around,” I whispered to myself. With renewed vigor, I hurried off the cliff and back to the city.
All hope was now distant as if represented by every step I took. I vowed to do everything I could to find Mikayla, no matter what. With determination in my heart and a burning desire, I dared myself to face whatever might come my way. Mikayla’s image burned in my mind, and I knew she was worth fighting for.

A year later, I still can’t find Mikayla. For months, I’ve searched everywhere, from remote villages to big cities, but to no avail. With each passing day, my hope grows dimmer, as if she’s disappeared from my life forever.
Today, I’m at a company event on the beach with my team members. The atmosphere is cheerful and happy, with laughter, music, and the smell of food tempting my spirits. But deep inside, there’s a sadness that lingers. I feel isolated, trapped between the shadow of Mikayla and the reality of life without her.
As I watch others having fun, I remember all the moments we shared—the smiles, the warm conversations, and the moments when anything seemed possible. These are precious memories that now feel like mere shadows of happiness that may never happen again.
