Chapter 93

Mikayla's POV
Tears of joy immediately flowed down my cheeks. It felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders. This feeling of joy made me unable to contain myself; it was so overwhelming! All the hard work and perseverance I had gone through had paid off, and I had finally been accepted as a student here.
I couldn’t help myself, and the tears kept flowing.
In my heart, I was grateful for every moment I had gone through.
Looking at the clock on the wall, I remembered the days of doubt, hard work, and support from Rudolf, and the love I had shared with the children.
Looking around, I realized that many people were also happy—some of whom were sharing the same steps as me. I smiled at my new friends and felt a strong bond in this struggle.
Immediately, I took out my phone and called Rudolf. With a trembling voice full of emotion, I said, “Rudolf, I got accepted! I got accepted to campus!”
I could hear the voice of joy on the other end of the phone. “That’s amazing, Mikayla! I’m so proud of you! We should celebrate!”
As I walked out of the building, feelings of gratitude and happiness flooded my heart.
After celebrating the happy news with Rudolf, I immediately headed to the registration place again to re-register as a new student. A burning excitement filled me as I walked towards the registration desk that I had been heading to.
The process was indeed very procedural, but not too difficult. With all the documents that had been prepared beforehand, I felt confident. While waiting for my turn, I looked around me. There were many new faces, other students who also felt the same enthusiasm as me.
However, when I was focused on the files, suddenly another student nudged me from behind. I was surprised, but thankfully, I didn’t fall. “Oh, sorry!” he said quickly, looking panicked.
“It’s okay!” I replied with a smile, trying to ease any anxiety she might be feeling. “I was just focused, so I didn’t look back.”
“It’s a big day for all of us, huh?” she offered, looking more at ease. “I just got accepted into psychology, too.”
“Oh, congratulations!” I said sincerely, happy to be able to share this moment with someone else.
We started talking about the selection process, and they expressed the same gratitude and excitement. The small talk made me feel more at ease, and my spirits rose.
After waiting for a while, my name was finally called to complete the registration process. With a pounding heart, I walked up to the registration desk and handed over all the necessary documents.
“Let’s get this done,” the officer said with a smile. She explained each step I had to take, and although the procedure seemed stiff, it all felt light thanks to the positive atmosphere.
After a few minutes, everything was finally done. “Congratulations, Mikayla! You’re officially a new student here!” she said as she handed me my new student card. The feeling of happiness overflowed again when I received the card, as if all my efforts and sacrifices had paid off.
After the registration process was complete, I walked out with a big smile on my face.
When I came home feeling so happy, the whole world seemed to shine brighter. As soon as I entered the house, the children who were on holiday immediately ran towards me with big smiles on their faces. “Mommy!” they shouted at the same time, hugging me tightly.
“I have good news!” I said excitedly, and they looked even more enthusiastic. “I got accepted as a student!”
Hearing the news, Emma and Daniel’s eyes lit up. “What is a student, Mommy?” Emma asked curiously.
“What do students do?” Daniel added, curious about my new world.
I smiled and began to explain enthusiastically. “Students are people who study at a university or college. So, after getting a degree, they can study more deeply about something they are interested in—like studying psychology, which is what I want to study!”
Emma nodded, but looked a little confused. “So, are you going to study? What are you going to do at college?”
“Yes, honey. At college, you will take classes and learn many new things. Not only that, but I will also meet new friends who share the same interests. We will discuss, work on projects, and learn from each other,” I explained enthusiastically.
Daniel wanted to know more. “What will I teach us after that?”
“I will learn how to help others understand themselves and how they think,” I replied. “After learning, I hope to share this knowledge with you. For example, helping you overcome feelings or problems that may arise.”
My two children listened attentively. “Cool! But I will be busy, okay?” Emma asked anxiously.
“Indeed, I will be busy studying, but I promise I will not forget about you. You are the most important,” I said, embracing them gently. “We will still have time to play and have fun together.”
“Yay! We can go to the park again!” Daniel exclaimed excitedly, and I smiled at his enthusiasm.
“I will make time for all of us, so don’t worry. This is a new beginning, and everything will work out, as long as we support each other,” I said in closing.
When Rudolf came home in the evening, I couldn’t wait to tell him about my good news. As soon as he walked in, our front yard reception was filled with happy lights and positive energy.
“Rudolf! I got accepted!” I exclaimed with joy, and his face lit up at the news.
“That’s amazing, Mikayla! I’m so proud of you!” he replied, embracing me tightly and planting a warm kiss on my forehead.
After we talked about my application process and everything that had happened, Rudolf revealed that he had a present for me. “I have a present for you,” he said with a mysterious smile.
“What present?” I asked, curious.
“Wait a minute. I can’t tell you right now. Tonight, get ready. We’re going somewhere,” he replied with a big smile.
Curiosity and anticipation began to tickle me. I couldn’t wait to find out what he had prepared. “When? Where? Is it something special?” I kept asking questions, but he just laughed and shook his head.
