Chapter 78
Mikayla's POV
“Don’t hesitate to tell me if something is uncomfortable, Mikayla. You’re here to get treatment, and I’ll make sure you get the best,” Rudolf said, his eyes full of love.
I felt that the healing power and support of my loved ones was enormous. With Rudolf by my side, I felt braver in facing everything that happened. He read me stories, talked to me about fond memories of family, and things that made me smile.
“We still have many adventures ahead of us, so don’t give up now,” he said with a confident smile.
After a few days of treatment, I felt positive changes. The pain that had been bothering me began to lessen, and I was able to do small activities such as walking slowly around the hospital room. Every step felt meaningful and gave me new hope for recovery.
With Rudolf’s encouragement and all the support I received, I was confident that I could get through this. Our relationship grew closer, and it became stronger with this event.
I also hoped to be back with the children soon.
After a week in the hospital, the day finally arrived. I was allowed to go home by the doctor. The pain in my stomach was no longer there, and a feeling of joy replaced the anxiety that had previously filled my mind.
“Hopefully there will be no more complaints, Mikayla,” said the doctor with a warm smile. His expression showed satisfaction after seeing my progress. He then gave some advice to maintain my health in the future.
“First, make sure to always regulate a healthy and nutritious diet. Stay well hydrated, and don't hesitate to avoid heavy or difficult to digest foods for a while,” the doctor advised seriously.
“Also, it is important to do light exercises gradually, such as walking, to strengthen your muscles. Focus on recovery and don't rush,” he continued, giving me clear guidance on how to maintain my health.
I nodded, determined to follow all the advice given. “Thank you, Doctor. I will take full care of my health,” I said, feeling grateful for the attention and care I had received while in the hospital.
After all the procedures were completed, I rushed to meet Rudolf who was waiting outside. Seeing him standing there with a warm smile, my heart pounded with happiness.
“We can go home!” I exclaimed, joy filling the atmosphere again.
“Yes, finally! “I’m so happy to hear this, Mikayla,” he replied, his eyes shining. He stepped closer and embraced me in his arms, giving me the security and love I so desperately needed.
With eager steps, we set off for home. It felt like we were celebrating life again, as all the stress and sadness of the hospital had disappeared. Now, it was time to go home.
“We’re going to celebrate Mother’s Day in the best way possible, and I’ve prepared a surprise for you,” Rudolf said, teasing me about the secret he was keeping.
It was raining outside the hospital. I love rain because the smell of wet soil, the soothing sound of dripping water, and the refreshing sensation of cold always make me feel alive. Rain seemed to be affiliated with my feelings—a symbol of purification and new hope.
The rain poured down heavily on the car roof the entire way home. Rudolf drove carefully, and despite the wet weather, a sense of courage and happiness enveloped my heart.
When I arrived home, I felt excited. When I stepped into the house, it turned out that Emma was sleeping soundly in the living room, while the older Daniel greeted our arrival.
“Mom!” he exclaimed happily, his eyes sparkling when he saw me again. He jumped towards me and hugged me tightly. All the pent-up longing seemed to flow into that one hug.
“I missed you so much, Daniel!” I said, returning the hug with great affection. “Are you okay?”
“Okay, Mom! I helped Dad look after the house and prepare everything for you! We made a surprise!” Daniel explained excitedly, his voice filled with joy.
My heart swelled hearing that.
“Wow, thank you, honey! It seems like you’ve been a great help,” I said, feeling proud of Daniel who had been responsible while I was away.
Rudolf then joined us, approaching us. “Maybe we should wake Emma up so she doesn’t miss this happy moment,” he said, smiling as he looked at me.
“Let’s wake her up together!” Daniel said, without waiting any longer, he walked slowly towards where Emma was sleeping.
As we sat together, enjoying the warmth of this reunion, the rain outside made the atmosphere even more intimate.
“Let’s celebrate this Mother’s Day well! Regardless of what happened, we’re together again, and that’s the most important thing,” Rudolf said, and everyone agreed with him.
The next day, I was looking at the wet scenery outside the house. The freshness was still there from yesterday’s rain. Ahh… I felt at peace with this calm morning atmosphere. Every drop of water on the leaves and the road made me feel alive, as if the world was giving us a new chance.
While enjoying the scenery, my eyes fell on a courier carrying a package. I felt curious and a little confused—who was this delivery from?
When the courier delivered it directly to the front door, I got up and opened it. When I saw the sender’s name, I was shocked. “Huh? This is from Ethan, my ex-boyfriend,” I said, looking at the box with curiosity and a little anxiety.
After calming down, I took the package and brought it into the house. There were mixed feelings inside me—nostalgia and curiosity. Why did Ethan send this? Was there a specific reason?
I thought back to our time together, how our relationship ended, and why it happened. Now, after going through so many changes in my life, becoming a werewolf, and being reunited with my family—it all felt so far away. And now, facing it could be both exciting and nerve-wracking.
I decided to open the package. When I opened the package, a letter and a small object jumped out at me. The letter was neatly written, and as I read it, my curiosity grew.
