Chapter 63

Rudolf's POV
In this journey of our lives, we will become stronger. We will fight together until the end, and no one can stop us. With love and courage, I will continue to move forward and give my best for our family.
With a turbulent heart, I returned to her side, looking at her weak, but still loving face. “I love you so much, Mikayla. We will use this as a lesson and make sure something like this never happens again.”
My love for her grew deeper, and I promised in my heart to always look after and protect my family.
“Me too, Rudolf. I’m glad I can finally come back to you,” Mikayla said, and hearing her words made my heart tremble even more. Every word from her was like a warm hug that touched my soul.
However, when night fell, my mind focused on Amarta’s arrest. I really wanted to participate in the arrest process, to make sure that justice was served and that she would get what she deserved. But when I saw the condition of Mikayla and the children, I felt like I couldn’t bear to leave them alone without anyone to look after them.
I decided to stay at the hospital. Watching over Mikayla was my top priority, and I knew that she and the children needed my presence right now.
“Don’t worry, Mikayla. We’re here with you, and I’ll always take care of you,” I said softly, assuring them that everything would be fine, even though my heart was filled with longing to participate in the arrest.
After deciding to stay by Mikayla’s side, I waited anxiously in the treatment room. The night wore on, and as things began to calm down, I couldn’t help but feel worried. Watching Mikayla’s every move, I hoped that her recovery would soon bring her back to everything we loved.
While waiting for news from the police, I took out my phone and kept an eye on Amarta’s arrest. All of this had added new tension to our lives, and one thing was for sure — I would never let anyone disturb our family’s peace again.
After a few hours of waiting, I finally received a message from the police that Amarta’s arrest had gone well. They had arrested her and taken her to the police station for questioning. Hearing this news made me feel calmer. One piece of the puzzle had been solved, and justice was getting closer.
When I saw Mikayla sleeping soundly in her bed, I felt a new hope that everything would get better soon.
In the morning, I had prepared breakfast for Mikayla. Today’s menu from the hospital was porridge and pudding. I knew she would love it, especially after all the struggles she had gone through. Seeing her recover little by little was a source of happiness for me.
Meanwhile, I took the kids to school first. “Remember, you have to study well, okay!” I said with a smile, trying to show enthusiasm even though my heart was still filled with worry for Mikayla.
“Yes, Daddy! We will study hard for Mommy!” Emma answered cheerfully, and Daniel added, “We will tell Mommy about what we learned later!”
After dropping them off at school, my heart felt calmer. I knew they missed their mother, and by giving them positive activities, I hoped to distract them from all their worries.
After dropping the children off, I returned to the hospital and stepped into Mikayla’s treatment room. At that moment, her face was a little redder and she looked fresher. “Good morning, Mikayla!” I called out with a smile.
Mikayla opened her eyes and smiled weakly. “Morning, honey. Have you had breakfast?” she asked in her soft voice, and what I loved about her was her ability to always try to connect even in the most difficult situations.
“Here, these are for you,” I said as I handed her the porridge and pudding. “I hope you like them. These nutrients are important to help with recovery.”
Mikayla laughed softly, “You know my tastes well, Rudolf. Thank you.” She began to eat her breakfast slowly, and I felt happy to see her enjoying her food.
Each bite she ate seemed to bring new hope to our family. Seeing her struggle to return to normal life gave me new strength. And even though there were many challenges ahead, I was sure that we would get through it all together.
When she finished eating, a sense of gratitude welled up inside me. “How are you feeling now?” I asked, wanting to make sure she was feeling better than yesterday.
“I feel better. I feel calmer and I feel excited to get better soon. I can’t wait to go home and be with you guys again,” she replied, her eyes sparkling as she expressed her hopes.
“I miss all of our togetherness too. We will be back to our normal activities, and all of this will be over soon,” I said, holding her hand tightly.
Mikayla's POV
Finally, after three days in the hospital, I was able to go home. Even though my legs were still weak, I felt so grateful and hopeful. Today I will leave this place and return home. Even though I was still a little confused about everything that had happened, the excitement of being with my family made me excited.
When I was ready to leave the hospital, I was transported in a wheelchair. Rudolf was always there for me, offering me the support I needed during this difficult time.
“I am grateful, Rudolf,” I told him, stealing glances at his loving face.
“Yes, Mikayla. I am also grateful that you are able to come home. We all miss you,” he replied with a smile that warmed my heart. Every word he said felt like a loving hug.
As we drove out of the hospital, the sun greeted us gently. Its warm rays seemed to depict the new hope that would soon grow in our family.
I felt excited when I thought about returning home and seeing the children.
“The children and I must be eagerly awaiting us at home,” Rudolf continued, his eyes sparkling. “They have prepared special things to welcome Mom home.”
