Chapter 62
Rudolf's POV
Mikayla smiled, albeit weakly. “Rudolf, thank you for always being there for me. I feel grateful, even though I went through hard times. My dream confirmed that I had to come back. Family is everything to me,” she said, her voice soft but full of feeling.
With all the painful experiences that had been buried, I felt a new strength. “Yes, we will get through this together. We will fight for you so that you will recover,” I said, trying to channel enthusiasm and hope into every word.
As we shared the story, I felt as if the Moon Goddess was a symbol of hope, born from within Mikayla’s soul, reminding us that we were never truly alone.
“Rudolf, has Hannah been captured?” Her asked.
“What do you mean?” I asked back.
“I just remembered that Hannah and Chef Amarta, who is Her cousin, tortured me. I vaguely heard that they wanted you and because I couldn’t, I was thrown into a ravine and I lost consciousness and I just realized I was here now,” Mikayla explained.
“Oh my gosh, so Hannah was the one who kidnapped you?” I was shocked when I heard Mikayla's words. My heart trembled, feeling deep disbelief.
I immediately contacted the police to find Hannah and Chef Amarta. They had to be arrested immediately wherever they were. "This can't be allowed. They have to be held accountable for all of this!" I said, my voice shaking with emotion.
Mikayla nodded, her weak eyes showing fear and strength at the same time. "I don't want you to be separated from me again. It all hurts so much," she said, and my heart broke hearing how much she was hurting.
I never thought Hannah, who I had always considered a friend and part of my family, would have evil intentions. It was as if everything was like an unbelievable nightmare. How could someone I trusted do something so cruel?
"Don't worry, Mikayla. I will make sure they are arrested. We will get through this together. We will get justice soon," I said, trying to calm Mikayla even though my heart was boiling with anger and pain.
After contacting the police, I gave her all the information I had gotten from Mikayla. I told her the details about Hannah and Chef Amarta, and how they were involved in her kidnapping. The police listened intently and took note of every detail I said.
“They need to be arrested immediately, and we need to make sure Mikayla is safe,” I said, my resolve growing stronger.
The police promised to investigate as quickly as possible. “We will check all the information you have provided. If they are still registered at that address or have other connections, we will track them down immediately,” one of the officers replied, offering a glimmer of hope in this grim situation.
After that brief meeting, I returned to the ward where Mikayla was. Seeing her in bed, confined and medicated, my heart throbbed with mixed emotions. Anger and worry swirled inside me; I couldn’t let what had happened to her go unpunished.
“We will stop this, honey. I won’t let anyone hurt you again,” I said, looking at her lovingly.
Mikayla smiled weakly. “Rudolf, I know you will. But also, don’t let this destroy you. We have to stay strong for the kids,” she replied quietly.
“Yes, we will. After all this is over, we will spend time together and rebuild what was lost. We will give them the peace they need,” I said, holding her hand tightly.
In my heart, I was determined not only to protect Mikayla, but also to face all odds to seek justice. As time went by, I hoped to give their children the understanding and love of a mother that they missed so much.
After a while, I received news from the police that they had tracked down Hannah and Chef Amarta. “Hannah left for Canada yesterday, while Amarta is still in this country but has also registered abroad. We will arrest Amarta soon. As for Hannah, we are trying to contact the authorities there because it is rather difficult abroad,” the officer said over the phone.
I felt angry and disappointed to hear that Hannah could just leave like that. The pain in my heart deepened, knowing that the person I considered a friend actually had evil intentions. On one hand, I was grateful that Amarta was still here and would soon be arrested, but on the other hand, this injustice continued to haunt me.
“No matter what happens, we will not let them get away with it,” I replied firmly. “Thank you for letting me know. Make sure they are arrested as soon as possible, especially Amarta.”
“Yes, we will arrange an arrest immediately. We will not let the perpetrators of this crime go free,” the officer confirmed.
After I ended the call, I sat for a moment to think about it all. You may be gone, Hannah, but justice will be served. Don’t think you can escape the consequences.
My thoughts drifted to Mikayla and the children. They were my motivation to not let this cruel act destroy our family. I wanted to make sure my children could grow up in a safe and loving environment, away from betrayal and fear.
I went to the infirmary. Looking at Mikayla lying on the bed, I tried to calm her mind and soul so that she would feel that we would get through this soon.
“Mikayla, I just spoke to the police. They are arranging an arrest for Amarta, and even though Hannah is gone, we will make sure justice is served,” I said, looking at her steadily.
“Rudolf, I trust you to protect us,” she said in a weak but confident voice.
“I will do it for all of us. We will bring back the happiness that was lost,” I replied, holding her hand tightly.
This is not just about revenge, but to make sure that no one can hurt our family again. You are the most important, Mikayla, and I will do everything to make sure that you recover and return to our arms.
Justice is coming; we will win this battle and bring those who are guilty to account for their actions.
