Chapter 66

Mikayla's POV
“I also feel everything is easier when I’m by your side, Rudolf. You are my strength,” I said, feeling touched and deeply connected to what we had.
The Moon Goddess smiled broadly, giving off a peaceful aura around us. “Everything you need is within yourself. Now, you are both bound by a stronger bond, and a new journey awaits you.”
Hearing those words sparked a sense of optimism within both of us. With my response, I felt a greater sense of power. Together, we can do more than just love each other; we can protect and grow each other.
“Never doubt what you have, and always remember that love is the strongest force,” the Moon Goddess added wisely, as if encouraging us to live our lives forward with courage.
We both hugged each other, looking up at the full moon, full of hope for a bright future.
We returned home with hearts full of happiness after the ritual that bound Rudolf and me. Although the trip was not too long, I felt a deep longing to see the children. Every second that passed made me look forward to their hugs more and more.
After arriving home, I immediately looked for the babysitter who was looking after our children. “What have my children been up to?” I asked, impatient to hear about their activities.
The babysitter smiled and replied, “They are very active, Mikayla! After lunch, they played in the garden while drawing.”
“Did they draw pictures for me?” I asked hopefully.
“Yes, they drew some very sweet pictures. They also talked about missing you and can’t wait for you to come home. They are reading books in the living room right now,” the babysitter replied, her face showing that she was enjoying being with the children.
Hearing that, my heart felt warm. Happiness and gratitude flowed through me. “Thank you so much for taking good care of them,” I said, feeling at ease entrusting them to her.
I immediately went to the living room where the children were gathered. When I saw them, the longing that had been suppressed for a long time seemed to burst out instantly. “Mommy is home!” I exclaimed in a voice full of love.
The children immediately ran to me. “Mommy!” Emma and Daniel exclaimed at the same time, their faces shining with joy. They hugged me with all their hearts, and all the tiredness and longing in me seemed to disappear instantly.
“Did you miss me?” I asked while stroking their heads.
“Yes, we missed Mommy so much!” Daniel replied, holding my hand tightly.
“And we drew pictures for Mommy!” Emma added, hoping to show what they had done.
When they showed me the cheerful pictures, my heart was filled with happiness. Every stroke seemed to reflect their affection and deep longing.
“Mommy loves you guys so much! “This is all so beautiful,” I said, unable to hold back my emotion as I saw their work.
After I read them some of their favorite fairy tales, not long after, I saw Emma and Daniel’s eyes start to feel heavy. Their big smiles slowly faded as they fell asleep in bed. Seeing them sleep peacefully was the moment I missed the most.
Carefully, I tucked them into bed with a warm blanket, making sure they were comfortable in the embrace of love. “Rudolf, they’re asleep,” I said softly as I walked out of their room and closed the door softly.
“Yes, Mikayla… tomorrow I’ll help them wake up early, and we can make breakfast together,” Rudolf replied, looking at me with a warm smile on his face.
“Maybe we can even cook something special to welcome the new day,” I replied, feeling happiness in my voice. Deep down, I felt excited to spend time with them and fill the day with love and togetherness.
“I definitely will. The days ahead will be full of new stories for us,” Rudolf replied, his eyes shining with hope, as I felt.
The two of us walked into the living room, and I felt grateful to have Rudolf by my side. “I feel so lucky to have you,” I said, looking at him with appreciation.
“I feel the same way, Mikayla. We’ve been through a lot, but with you and the kids, I feel stronger. Let’s build a family full of love and happiness,” he replied, his hand reaching for mine.
Then, we sat on the couch and made small talk, sharing hopes and plans for the future. “Tomorrow is the day I have a board meeting,” Rudolf said, his voice serious.
“Are there any problems in your company?” I asked, a little worried after thinking about everything that had happened before.
Rudolf shook his head. “Nothing major, but there are some important decisions we need to make regarding ongoing projects. I want to make sure that everything stays on track,” he replied firmly.
“Maybe this is a good time to lead a new step in your company. I know you are very dedicated to your work,” I said, trying to be supportive.
“Yes, I hope so. We are trying to expand our business and establish new partnerships. But I want to make sure everything is going well so that I am not burdened by the pressures out there,” Rudolf explained further, his eyes reflecting deep concentration.
“You can handle it all. Remember, you are not alone. I am here for you,” I reassured him, hoping to ease some of the anxiety that might be plaguing his mind.
“Thank you, Mikayla. Your support means a lot to me. I will do it for you and the kids,” he replied, reaching for my hand, holding it tightly. “I want to achieve success for our family, not just for myself.”
Hearing his words made me feel closer and connected to his dream. “We will always be with you on this journey, Rudolf. Don’t hesitate to let me know if you need any help or just want to share,” I said, feeling a sense of pride in my heart.
I know how important the decisions that are made in Rudolf’s company are.
