Chapter 29
Mikayla's POV
As I looked at Rudolf’s face, I began to understand the concept of true love—a love that is sincere and supportive in every step of life. A week passed, and with renewed courage, I finally decided to resign from my job at the cafe. Tomorrow was my wedding day.
When I said goodbye to my friends, there was a sadness that gnawed at my heart. They had been an important part of my life for so long, and although this parting was bittersweet, I knew that this was the step I had to take.
“Come over here,” one of them said, with a big smile on his face. They didn’t expect me to resign, and it made me feel heavy.
“Yes, of course. We’ll definitely meet again,” I replied, trying to smile even though my heart ached a little. However, I didn’t tell them that I was getting married tomorrow. There were too many emotions involved in this decision and I wanted to keep it a surprise for them.
After saying goodbye, I walked out of the cafe with mixed feelings. There was a feeling of longing and longing to wander amidst the new adventures that were to come.
Outside, Rudolf was waiting with a smile, indicating that everything would be okay.
On my way home, I reflected on all the wonderful memories at the cafe—the laughter, the stories, and the togetherness. Although the new calling in my life felt scary, there was also real hope and happiness.
The next day, as dawn began to break, my heart was pounding as the wedding preparations took place. As I walked through the days ahead, I felt relieved and ready. Deep in my heart, with Rudolf’s presence, I knew that life would be better than ever.
Just like my dream, I had a very simple wedding. Only in this small house, with a few simple decorations that gave it a warm feel. There were no invited guests, just the two of us and the registrar who would marry us. This atmosphere created an intimate and meaningful moment.
As the registrar began to lead the wedding, I felt my heart pounding, but also filled with happiness. I glanced at Rudolf, who also looked calm but with a sincere smile on his face. The registrar began the procession, and in my heart, I prayed that every promise we made would come true.
“…And do you, Mikayla, take Rudolf as your husband?” asked the registrar.
“Yes, I accept,” I answered in a firm voice, without hesitation. Realizing that this was the moment I had been waiting for, the moment when I had the right to be happy.
It was the same when it was Rudolf’s turn. “Do you, Rudolf, accept Mikayla as your wife?” he asked.
“Yes, I accept,” Rudolf answered in a voice full of conviction.
After a few sentences from the registrar, we looked at each other, and at that moment, the world seemed to stop. There was no luxury, no crowds. There was only us and the sincere love between us.
When we were declared legally husband and wife, I felt a very deep flow of happiness. The smile couldn’t leave my face and neither could Rudolf’s. He hugged me tightly, and we both felt a warmth and happiness that couldn’t be expressed in words.
After the ceremony was over, we stood together in the living room, surrounded by this simplicity full of love. “I feel happy,” I said, my eyes sparkling. “It all feels perfect, and more than I expected.”
Rudolf smiled, gently caressing my cheek. “Me too, Mikayla. This is a moment I will remember forever. We will face everything together, and I promise to always support you,” he said, his voice full of conviction and love.
Once again, I felt an unspeakable happiness. All the sacrifices and hardships we had gone through felt worth it. Today was the beginning of a new chapter in our lives, and I was more confident than ever that we would create complete happiness and love for Emma and Daniel.
We were both ready to face whatever was ahead, and with renewed vigor, we had only one determination: to build a life full of love and happiness in this little family.
We took pictures together with my two children, Emma and Daniel. They looked happy with the cute outfits they had chosen for this special day. Emma wore a bright little dress, while Daniel looked adorable in a neat little suit. Seeing their cheerful smiles made my heart flutter, indicating how meaningful this moment was.
After a few fun photo sessions, we gathered at the table to eat together. The food served was very appetizing, and I knew that it was all the result of Rudolf's selection, who ordered it from a famously delicious restaurant. It was a surprise for me—I was so grateful for the effort and care he showed.
As we sat down together, I felt a warm sense of togetherness. We began to enjoy our meal while chatting and laughing. Seeing Emma and Daniel eat their food with such enthusiasm made me feel so happy. Every bite felt more delicious, because this was a special moment for us as a new family.
“Rudolf, thank you for all this. The food is delicious, and the atmosphere makes our day even more beautiful,” I said, looking at him with gratitude, especially since I hadn’t eaten restaurant food for a long time. My children also ate with ease.
He smiled, patting my head gently. “This is all for you and the children. I want to make this wedding an unforgettable moment,” he replied, and in his heart, I could feel the sincerity of his happiness.
Amidst the laughter and joy, I felt a sense of contentment and peace flowing through me. This was the life I had dreamed of—marrying the person I love and building a family with the people I care about the most.
