Chapter 74
Mikayla's POV
The figure that attacked me seemed to be approaching again, and my instincts began to emerge. I felt a flow of energy inside me—a power that I might have hidden and couldn’t find before.
As my enemies approached, I raised my arms and tried to summon the wolf energy within me. "Come on, Mikayla, show them who you are!" Alaric's voice echoed in my mind, encouraging me.
I moved quickly, using my newly-remembered defensive technique. I saw every move my enemy made clearly and responded with sharper reflexes. In an instant, I managed to dodge the next attack, and this time I fought back.
Confidence began to flow through me. Every kick and punch I delivered was stronger than before. I felt like my wolf soul was starting to awaken, flowing through my blood.
Finally, in a well-directed movement, I managed to touch my enemy, sending him staggering back. There was an incredible feeling as I felt the new power I had.
“Okay! Keep going! You can do it, Mikayla!” Alaric shouted enthusiastically, which further spurred my courage.
With stronger confidence, I continued forward, ready to face this challenge. No longer feeling anxious, I began to understand that this was part of my learning and development as a werewolf.
The power that had once felt scary was now a drive to survive and fight. I was ready to fight and find out who I really was.
After putting up a fierce fight, I felt really tired. My body felt drained of energy after all the tension and adrenaline. Alaric approached me and offered to help me. “Come on, Mikayla, I’ll take you to the cave. There’s a comfortable place to rest,” he said caringly.
When we entered the cave, I was surprised to see that there was a nice room there, similar to a hotel. The place was surrounded by stone walls decorated with candles that added to the warm atmosphere.
The facilities impressed me—there was a soft bed, big pillows, and warm blankets. There were even some soft lights shining, creating a calming atmosphere. A sense of comfort immediately flowed through me.
“This is your place to rest. You’ve fought hard and really need time to recover,” Alaric explained with a smile. “After you rest, we can discuss more about training and how to master your abilities.”
Seeing all these comforts, I felt lucky.
“Thank you, Alaric. This means a lot to me,” I said sincerely, feeling grateful for the opportunity to rest.
I began to sleep in that comfortable place. Every part of the bed felt soft, and I could feel my tiredness slowly being erased. With a tired body and a mind full of new experiences, I could finally close my eyes and sleep soundly. In my sleep, I could feel the image of my family—Rudolf and the children—filling my mind. I missed them, but with a calm mind, I hoped they were okay and relying on me. This comfortable rest helped me gather my energy and spirit. Not long after, I was enveloped in a beautiful dream, filled with sweet memories with Rudolf and the children. The longing for them hit my heart, and I hoped to meet my loved ones again soon.
“Rudolf, where are you?” I murmured in my sleep, feeling a deep emptiness without their presence beside me. Those beautiful dreams were filled with images of Rudolf’s smile, Emma and Daniel’s cheerful laughter, and moments together that made my heart tremble.
But in the darkness of the dream, I suddenly felt their presence—their laughter and jokes, their familiar scents, everything felt so real. A soft light began to appear, and I felt as if I could touch them even in my dream.
“Mommy...!” Emma’s voice crossed my mind, and it was as if I could feel her embrace. “Dad said we’re going to the beach again!”
Her heart felt warm, but reality kept reminding me that they were not here with me. I missed their voices and presence so deeply, and in my sleep, I prayed that they were okay.
In my sleep, I hoped that Rudolf would find me with all his strength. What was happening to him? Was he looking for me? These questions kept spinning in my mind.
A voice came from a distance, as if answering the longing in my heart. “Mikayla, you can do it! Your strength is within you. Believe in yourself!”
Rudolf—that enthusiastic voice brought calm amidst the anxiety.
The next day, I went back to training, doing physical exercises and energy control. Alaric guided me to understand and use my newfound werewolf powers. We trained in an open area outside the cave, surrounded by beautiful nature, and as the sun shone brightly, my spirits soared.
I felt so energized and determined. Every movement felt easier and more natural; I could feel my energy flowing smoothly. During the training, I tried to remember everything I had learned before—aligning my body and mind, and focusing on the power within me.
Alaric watched and instructed, “Remember, Mikayla, this is all part of your journey. The power within you is not something to be afraid of. It is part of who you really are.”
His words echoed in my mind, and I began to understand that, although this felt foreign and scary, this was also an opportunity to find my true self. Every step I took was progress toward being able to control this power.
I tried to do my best to succeed in this training. With each strike and block, I felt confidence growing within me. “I can do it,” I told myself, focusing on every movement and sensation I felt.
Alaric smiled at my efforts. “Good, keep going! Don’t be afraid to use your instincts. The wolf in you will guide you if you listen.”
With that spirit, I tried the movements taught over and over again, remembering that every failure was not the end, but an opportunity to learn. Fatigue began to eat away at my body, but the satisfaction of seeing progress made me not want to stop.
After a while of practicing, I felt stronger and more confident. It turns out, there is potential that I can find inside myself. With Alaric's efforts and guidance, I knew that I could overcome any obstacles that might come in the future.
