Chapter 11
Zara's POV
I took a deep breath, while Ismaya was still sitting in my office, drinking cold water. We were quite tired today. But I still had a lot of work responsibilities that I couldn't put aside. After I finished my task, I went back to see Doctor Leo to make sure that he had done the research journal well. When I met him, he was in front of his laptop and typing the results of the research earlier. I approached him and asked how far he had typed the journal.
"Doctor Leo, how about the research journal?"
"Yes, I'm typing it; it's pretty good, Doc; it's almost finished."
"Okay, do I need to help you finish it quickly?"
"No need, Doc, I'll do it. Besides, it's only a little bit left."
"Umm... Okay, I'll do the other ones."
"Yes, please."
We each started to do our own tasks. Meanwhile, I started tabulating the results of examining the patients that had been collected on the sheet that Ismaya handed me.
A moment later, Doctor Leo began to say that he had finished working on his research journal.
"Doc, this is finished. Can Doctor Zara check it first, maybe there needs to be a revision for the journal that I have written."
"Um, okay, let me see and read it first."
Doctor Leo handed me his laptop. I immediately accepted and took it. I started to focus on reading the journal that he had just typed. Examining word by word. However, I was not satisfied with the results of his typing. This was still raw for me, not perfect. I also started to revise some of the writings that I felt were not right and did not correlate with the research that we had done earlier. For me, it was a bit confusing and needed correction.
"I think there are some parts that need to be revised."
"Um, okay, please doc."
I also started to explain some of the things I wanted to correct. As for the revision material that Doctor Leo had to work on again, it turned out to be quite a lot after I finished checking it. Hmm... I thought the results would not be too many revisions, but it turned out to be a mountain. But Doctor Leo accepted my corrections willingly. He then started working on it again and revised the part that I had just corrected. Meanwhile, I went back to work on my unfinished assignment.
A few moments later, Doctor Leo returned to hand over the results of the journal that he had revised. I read it again intensively and carefully. Understanding the writing that I was currently reading. Hmm... It turned out that there were still some things that needed to be revised. I corrected it again and handed it back to Doctor Leo to be fixed. But again and again, Doctor Leo was so patient in accepting my corrections.
And so on until four revisions. However, Doctor Leo was so patient and did not protest or fight me at all. He happily returned to working on the journal. I began to feel sympathy for him even though he was not very good at making journals. But I was really amazed by his patience, persistence, and tenacity in working. He was diligent in doing something and was not anti-criticism. I like people like that.
"Sorry Doctor Zara, Doctor Leo, I'll go home first." Said the laboratory officer saying goodbye to us.
One by one the officers who worked here began to say goodbye to go home. Meanwhile, here in this room, there were only the two of us. There were only me and Doctor Leo here and still busy working. We really enjoyed the task that we were doing. To the point of forgetting the time and the fun in working. Not realizing that the time was already eight o'clock at night. During that time we worked from the afternoon I started being here. When I finished practicing in my office I started to approach Doctor Leo in his office. I completely forgot that I had to go home.
"Doc, this journal is finished."
He handed me his laptop again. I checked it again, and this time, it was complete and correct. I also started to say that Doctor Leo no longer needed to make revisions to the journal he wrote.
"Emm.. I think that's enough. For further, make a hard file as well as a soft file. Please archive and save it to complete the report and also support further research!"
"Yes, doc, thank you."
He also started to save his files and tidy everything up.
"Doc, are you still not finished?" He asked me.
"It's only a little bit more, just a little bit more."
"Okay, I'll wait so the doctor isn't alone."
"Yes, thank you." I smiled at him a little.
After a while, I was done with my task. I started to shoot down on my laptop and started to tidy up all the files. When I was about to tidy up the piled-up files. Suddenly some sheets fell down. I immediately rushed to bring them to tidy them up again. But at the same time, suddenly, Doctor Leo wanted to help me. Until finally we bumped heads. I was shocked and Doctor Leo was also shocked.
"Ouch.."
"Emm."
Because of this, we looked at each other. For some reason, my heart was beating fast when his eyes looked at me. There was eye contact between us. This is the first time I've felt something like this. For some reason, my saliva felt very much, and I swallowed it all at once. Feeling awkward and nervous at the same time. I think Doctor Leo felt the same way as me. Suddenly there was an attractive energy between us. I couldn't imagine this could happen. But this was real. His face was so close to mine. We seemed to forget that we had only known each other for a few days. But suddenly, I started to realize I hadn't been touched by him. I started to act awkwardly and immediately tidied up the files that had been scattered earlier.
"Um, sorry." Doctor Leo said to me.
I acted indifferent and started to rush home.
"Let's go," I said while looking down in shame and walking quickly towards the exit of this room.
He chased after me.
"Wait, Doctor Zara!"
I ignored him and kept walking first. I sped up my pace until I reached the parking lot. But suddenly when I was about to get into my car after I turned on the key. Doctor Leo was already behind me and made me realize something had happened to my car.
"It looks like the rear tire of the doctor's car is flat."
I immediately turned to the rear tire of the car and checked it. It turned out that what Doctor Leo said was true. I was confused about how to go home. There's no way I should leave my car here. Meanwhile, after I checked my cellphone, it turned out that my cell phone suddenly died after the low battery was one percent.
