Chapter 72

Leo’s POV
“Yes, I want it to be bright and welcoming. It’s also very important to think about everything the baby needs when they first arrive,” she replied, her face glowing with renewed enthusiasm.
During the drive, we talked about ideas for the nursery, picked out a name, and planned other little details. It was great to see Zara’s enthusiasm again, and I tried to give her my full support so that she felt our love and commitment.
When we got home, our mood was warm and full of enthusiasm. The two of us started tidying up the room that would be the nursery, taking out some of the things we had prepared beforehand. Every object we took out added to the deep joy in our hearts.
“Look at this!” Zara handed me a small photo frame that we had prepared. On the frame was an inspiring quote about the joys of parenthood. “We should hang it on the wall,” she said enthusiastically.
I smiled, feeling that this was a small step that meant a lot. “That’s a great idea, Zara. It will be a reminder for us of our love and commitment as parents,” I replied, agreeing with the idea.
While mingling with household chores, we shared laughter and stories about past experiences. We even started to have fun imagining what our baby would be like. “Who knows, maybe she’ll inherit your smile,” I said with a smile, trying to tease Zara.
Zara laughed, “Maybe she’ll inherit your intelligence too! We should take a gamble!”
As we started to plan for baby supplies and decorations, I felt an air of happiness filling the house. Although there had been a sense of loss and uncertainty before, it seemed that all of that was starting to be dispelled by the love and attention we poured into this child.
Moments like these strengthened us both. Now, I am more confident that no matter what happens, our love and commitment will always see us through all the challenges. With strong hope in our hearts, I am ready to face a beautiful future with Zara and our baby.
After a long day of activities, I felt like we needed some time to relax and enjoy the moment together. “Zara, how about we eat together before we go home?” I offered, seeing how excited she was about food.
“Yes, I really want to eat!” she replied excitedly. Talking about being pregnant seemed to have developed her taste buds, and that made me happy.
We went to one of our favorite restaurants, a place that offered a variety of food. As soon as we sat down, Zara looked confused about the menu. “Now I want everything that tastes good! Is this the baby effect?” she said with a laugh, but there was a hint of doubt on her face.
“It could be! Our baby might have started choosing his own favorite food,” I replied, smiling at her excitement. We ended up ordering some delicious dishes and enjoying some quality time together.
When the food arrived, Zara ate heartily, looking like she was really enjoying it. With a big smile, she started asking again, “Leo, how do you get back to your planet? Do you just need to use a UFO?”
I chuckled for a moment before answering, “Yes, a UFO is a way to get back. But not just any UFO, you know. There are certain days when the portal opens and allows travel. Usually, I need to make sure that all the systems inside the UFO are functioning properly.”
“So, in other words, you need planning,” Zara concluded with a curious look as if fascinated by all of this.
“Right! First, I have to know when the right time is for it. There is a calendar that shows certain days that allow interstellar travel,” I explained, trying to give Zara a detailed picture.
“The calendar is very important because it can’t be used every day. After waiting for the right day and making sure the UFO is ready, I can travel back and return to my planet,” I continued.
Zara was silent for a moment, then said, “That’s very interesting! It seems like your planet has a lot of advanced technology. Do you often miss that place?”
I pondered her question. “Of course, it’s not just the place, it’s also the people. But right now, what I feel is the love and the family we’re building together. Even though my planet has amazing things, my heart is here with you and our baby.”
Zara smiled widely as if she understood my feelings. “I feel happy to hear that. I know that no matter what happens, we’ll face it together with you.”
Back to the food, we shared laughter and stories. Both of them gave our relationship warmth and brought strength to this gathering. The atmosphere was flowing with happiness and peace, making every bite taste even more delicious.
After the meal, we went home feeling full of warmth and love. Little moments like this really reminded us how much the journey together meant.
One afternoon, as we were returning home and enjoying a relaxing moment, Cindy came up to me. “Leo, can we talk for a moment?” she asked, her eyes filled with worry.
“Yes, of course, Cindy. What’s wrong?” I replied, sensing the tension in her heart.
She sat down next to me and took a deep breath before starting the conversation. “I wanted to let you know that I need to get back to our planet right away. There are some health issues there that need to be addressed immediately. Unfortunately, the right medicine is not available here,” she said, sounding anxious.
Hearing that, I felt mixed feelings. On the one hand, I knew that the departure was important, but on the other hand, I also felt worried. “You can’t go alone, Cindy. I have to come too. I can’t bear to let you go back alone,” I said, trying to offer support.
