Chapter 58
Zara's POV
Hearing Ismaya’s options made me feel more optimistic. I realized that there was no harm in trying to explore new avenues, even if they were risky. Over time, we could build a better understanding between our two worlds.
“We need to meet Leo and talk about this. We should be able to offer something that is more beneficial to both parties,” I said, starting to feel more energized.
Ismaya smiled. “I’ll help you, Zara. We can definitely find a solution that doesn’t involve sacrificing anyone else. We can make Leo understand that there is a better way than to come up with a forced choice,” I suggested.
With Ismaya’s support and my plan to preserve my child’s future, I felt more courageous to try new steps. We tried to find a way to solve this problem together. This was a new journey, and I was determined to face this challenge with courage and optimism.
After a long discussion with Ismaya, we decided to do more in-depth research on possible solutions that could avoid taking human ova. Ismaya was motivated to find information about mammalian genes that were similar to humans, which might be an alternative for Leo and his people who wanted to survive.
As a gynecologist, I felt optimistic that I could contribute to this research. Immediately, we began collecting medical literature and information from reliable sources on mammalian reproduction, genetics, and species adaptation. I also contacted several colleagues in the fields of genetics and biology to gain more insight, asking about the genetic similarities between humans and other mammals.
“We need to understand more about how reproduction works among mammals,” I told Ismaya as we reviewed some of the articles. “If we can find a way to use their genes and create new reproductive techniques, we might find a solution that doesn’t rely solely on human eggs.”
Ismaya enthused, “We should also look into how other species adapt and reproduce without involving other species. If we can put together a solid analysis of all of this, maybe we can convince Leo and his people that there are less invasive and still effective ways.”
I was relieved and excited to see how committed Ismaya was to this endeavor. “We’re not just doing this research for us, but also to protect humanity from the dangers their presence could pose,” I added, determination beginning to grow in my heart.
As the days went by, we continued to work hard, spending hours in libraries and labs, searching for the data we needed. Each new source we found gave us the motivation to keep going. Ismaya and I studied reproductive patterns in mammals such as cats, dogs, and birds to find unconventional yet effective methods.
“If we can prove that other species can thrive and adapt without having to sacrifice each other, maybe there’s a chance that two worlds can coexist,” Ismaya said excitedly.
With each discovery and reference that began to stir in our minds, I felt that we were building a better foundation for the future. What once seemed like an impossible relationship between humans and aliens could have a way that was not detrimental to either party.
As we began to formulate a proposal to present to Leo, the decision felt more real. “Ismaya, if we can convince Leo and his people to try this method, we could make a significant impact on history,” I said proudly.
And, as we prepared for the meeting, there was a mixture of anxiety and excitement. I knew this was a big step. I had taken a bold step, on the cutting edge of the new, looking for an option that left much to be desired and gave hope to future generations.
With great enthusiasm, Ismaya and I completed our research proposal. We outlined innovative ways that could be used based on mammalian genetics that were similar to humans, as well as the potential to replace ovum harvesting. These ideas gave Leo and his people new hope, protecting women’s rights and minimizing the risk to humanity.
After putting together our presentations, we both felt bold, but a tinge of anxiety still lurched. “This could change everything, Zara,” Ismaya said, her speed showing how excited we were. “We have to be prepared and explain everything clearly so that Leo and his people understand.”
When the time for the meeting arrived, I felt my heart beating faster. We set up the room for the presentation, making sure that all the material we had prepared could be conveyed well. This felt like an important moment, not just for me and Ismaya, but for my child’s future.
Leo arrived with a solemn expression, but I could see the hope in his eyes as he looked at the two of us. “Zara, Ismaya, thank you for arranging this meeting. I would like to hear more about the ideas and analysis you have found,” he said, giving us a chance to speak.
I took a deep breath, willing myself to explain as best I could. “Leo, we have been doing research on mammalian genetics and have found that there is another way to help your people without having to harvest human female eggs. We believe that this approach can benefit both parties—creating harmony without sacrificing any human,” I said with conviction.
After presenting the main points of the proposal, Ismaya went on to explain the details of our research. She explained how the reproductive methods of various mammals and the potential for these techniques to be adopted by Leo’s people.
“This is an opportunity for us to find an alternative that not only benefits both parties but also creates a safer environment,” Ismaya added, confident in her presentation.
Leo listened intently, and there were moments of silence where he seemed to be contemplating all the information we had provided. “The options you have proposed are interesting and could make a significant difference. However, the challenge remains in how we can implement this practically in our culture,” he said, facing the reality of the situation.
