Chapter 59
Zara's POV
“Maybe we can work together to figure out how to adapt,” Ismaya suggested. “We can create a dialogue between the two species and conduct experiments that could benefit all.”
Hearing this, I felt a spark of excitement rise in my heart. “Leo, we want to help. Together we can build a bridge between these two worlds. We all want to live in peace, and no one needs to be sacrificed.”
Leo finally smiled, a sense of hope on his face. “You two have come up with a solution that has real potential. This is a first step toward harmony between the two species, and I am ready to explore it with you.”
With all the good intentions that came from our commitment, I felt that perhaps, my hope for my son’s future could be a little closer to reality. The dream of creating a world where my son could grow up safe and surrounded by love and understanding was now clearer.
We were beginning a new journey—not just to save my people, but to forge a relationship that could bring these two worlds together, without fear or uncertainty. Together, we would find a way to create a better life for all.
After Leo agreed to our research on alternatives to ovum retrieval, I felt a huge weight lifted off my shoulders. The complaints of patients who had previously missed their periods also seemed to stop, and that gave me new hope. Maybe, with the solution we offer, we can help many women out there and provide a good survival for our children.
Today, I celebrate a big milestone—I have reached 3 months of pregnancy. This is a significant phase and I feel happy, full of hope and curiosity. Without hesitation, I made an appointment for my first ultrasound. It was so exciting to finally hear the baby’s heartbeat and see the image for the first time.
When I arrived at the doctor’s office, I was quickly asked to enter the examination room. The familiar gynecologist turned out to be a good friend of mine, and seeing her made me feel a little more at ease. She greeted me with a big smile. “How are you? It seems like everything is going well.”
“I feel great and very excited for this ultrasound. It feels like an amazing moment to see our baby!” I said, trying to express my overwhelming joy.
The doctor prepared all the necessary equipment, and I sat on the examination table, shaking with anticipation. As she began explaining the ultrasound process, I began to wonder about the many questions that were floating around in my mind.
“Doctor, are there any specific things I need to know about this pregnancy?” I asked, wanting to learn everything that could help keep myself and my baby healthy.
“Well, some things you need to pay attention to include good nutrition, getting plenty of rest, and getting regular checkups,” she replied. “It’s important to stay active, but don’t overdo it. Also, if you notice any unusual signs, like bleeding or severe cramping, call us right away.”
“Maybe there are also things to watch out for in a non-human pregnancy?” I asked, adding another disturbing twist to the process.
The doctor smiled, showing understanding. “Pregnancies usually follow a similar pattern, although I’ve never had anything like yours. But it’s best to listen to your body and follow the guidelines.”
As the doctor began the ultrasound, I felt a surge of emotion. The screen began to display images that left me in awe. As the tiny image moved across the screen, the heartbeat was clearly audible.
“Here it is, our baby!” the doctor commented while pointing to the area on the screen. Tears of joy began to roll down my cheeks. All the doubts and fears I had ever experienced seemed to disappear in an instant.
“He is very active! Healthy and developing well,” the doctor explained. Looking at the picture, my heart beat with happiness. Considering all the efforts and struggles, this moment felt very meaningful and precious.
After the examination was over, I walked out of the doctor's room feeling full of hope for the future. This was not just a journey for me, but for Leo and our unborn child.
When the doctor told me that I was pregnant with twins, my whole world seemed to spin. I was silent for a moment, trying to process this incredible information. “Twins?” I asked, my voice full of disbelief. “Is that true?”
The doctor smiled broadly, nodding. “Yes, you are carrying two fetuses, and both look healthy. That is good news!” He pointed to the ultrasound screen, showing two small moving images there. Feelings of emotion overflowed and tears of joy flowed down my cheeks.
“We will do regular check-ups to make sure everything is going smoothly,” she added.
The feeling of happiness and excitement was mixed with various thoughts that were spinning in my head. Two babies, not one! The fantasies about our future multiplied. The thought of having two children, how I would take care of them, educate them, and give them equal love, made me even more excited.
After the ultrasound session was over, I walked out of the doctor's room with a bubbling feeling. How would it feel to be able to carry two babies inside me? I couldn't imagine how sweet and loving that moment would be.
After returning home, I couldn't wait to tell Leo about this pregnancy. Seeing his reaction and support throughout this journey was very important. Leo had been very supportive since I shared the news of the pregnancy. Now, with the reality that we were going to have two babies, I wanted to see how he would respond to this news.
When Leo arrived, I didn't wait long to tell him. “Leo!” I exclaimed, my voice full of enthusiasm. He turned around, his expression showing deep curiosity. “I know this may come as a surprise, but...” I took a deep breath to ease the tension. “The doctor told me I’m having twins!”
