Chapter 92

Zara's POV
Ismaya nodded, “That’s good to hear. I know how hard this must be for you.” She gave me a knowing smile, helping me feel a little more at ease.
We got into a deeper conversation. Soon after, Ismaya asked about Orion and Leo. “How are Orion and Leo? Have there been any updates on them?”
I sighed, reflecting on the worry that had been haunting me. “There’s been no definite news. I’m really worried about them both. Every day I feel like waiting for news from them makes me more impatient,” I said, in a hopeful tone. “I want to see Leo. It feels like we’ve been apart for too long, and I want to make sure he’s okay.”
“It must be hard to wait without any news. But we have to keep praying and hoping that they’re okay,” Ismaya said reassuringly. “There’s nothing more valuable than sharing hope with a friend.”
I knew she was right, even though the uncertainty was scary. As we talked, my heart began to fill with hope that one day we would be reunited and see Orion and Leo return home safely. “I pray that this will all be over soon. We need them here so badly,” I said sincerely.
Ismaya nodded in agreement. “I’m here to support you, Zara. We can be together in this, and I’m sure we’ll get through this. Don’t hesitate to share your feelings.”
We continued to talk, holding onto hope in the tense atmosphere. With my loyal friends around me, I was determined to stay strong. The thought of meeting Leo and all the beauty that was to come kept me going on this journey.
As Ismaya said goodbye to going back to her work, I felt inspired again. The days ahead would be challenging, but I knew that with love and hope, we would persevere. Now, I was fighting not only for Kayra but for everyone I love—for a brighter, happier future.
After a week in the hospital, Kayra was finally allowed to go home. Relief and gratitude welled up in my heart. She was strong enough to come home, and I couldn’t wait to see her healthy again.
As we walked out of the hospital, I felt a huge weight lift. But in the middle of our journey, a voice I knew clearly made me turn around. "Why have you become so thin, Zara?"
I turned my head, and my heart fluttered when I saw Leo standing there, before my eyes. My husband—someone I had missed so much—was here, near me. "Leo!" I exclaimed, unable to hold myself back any longer. Without hesitation, I stepped forward and hugged him tightly.
Every feeling of longing and all the sadness I had been fighting for all this time seemed to explode into happiness when we were in each other's arms. "I missed you so much!" I said, my voice shaking with emotion.
He let go of my hug for a moment to look at my face as if to make sure I was really in front of him. "I missed you too, Zara. And Kayra," he said, a smile spreading across his face.
I showed Kayra who was sleeping soundly in my arms. "She just got out of the hospital. Last night, her fever was high, but now she's better," I said; the happiness of seeing Leo again seemed to cure my fatigue.
Leo gently touched Kayra’s cheek, full of affection. “I was lucky to make it back in time,” he said, his eyes sparkling as he looked at our daughter. “I can’t believe that after everything that happened, we’re finally together again.”
At that moment, I felt like everything was now in the right place. Even though the journey I had been on had been fraught with difficulties, having Leo by my side made it all seem worth it. “What about you? How was your journey?” I asked, wanting to know more about what had happened while he was gone.
Leo sighed, looking a little tired but happy. “It’s a long story. There were challenges, but I learned a lot along the way. What’s important is that we’re together again,” he replied, his voice soothing.
A sense of happiness and gratitude filled us as I imagined our future together as a family. Even though things weren’t always perfect, remembering the struggles and the unwavering nature of our love made me believe that we could overcome any obstacles that came our way.
After all this pain and longing, we were back together. And nothing was more important than maintaining the bond of love we had built. Curious, I asked Leo, “Did Orion come back too?”
Leo nodded, a smile on his face showing his relief. “Yes, he’s back. We successfully completed our mission. He’s safe now.”
Gratitude welled up in my heart to hear that my friend was safe too. However, as I continued my question, a hint of hesitation crossed Leo’s face. “But…” he said quietly, “all aliens must return to their planet, and Orion must obey that as well.”
I was relieved at first, but hearing that Orion had to go back to his planet made me stutter. “What? Why does he have to go? Can’t he stay here?” I asked, my voice shaking slightly.
“The rules and protocols on their planet are very strict, Zara. Orion must obey them and cannot stay on Earth any longer,” Leo replied, seeming to fully understand the situation. “But most importantly, he’s safe.”
Learning that Orion was going back to his planet made my heart a little heavy. While we were all glad that he was safe, the fact that my best friend was going back to a different world was suffocating.
“So, he’s an alien and he’s going back?” I asked, my heart racing with uncertainty.
Leo nodded. “Yes, he’s an alien and has to go back, but he promised to be there for us, even though we’re miles apart.” Deep down, I understood why he had to fulfill his responsibilities.
Despite the sense of loss that gripped me, I tried to accept the fact. “At least he’ll be okay. And I hope he can find happiness on his planet. He deserves the best,” I said, trying to ease the emptiness.
