Zara's POV
As I left the meeting room, positive feelings filled my heart. Having colleagues who supported and understood my new journey was a motivation for me. In addition, I knew that I had a solid team behind me. With this warm welcome, I was even more excited to dive deeper into research and face all the challenges that existed.
The day passed quickly. I was also tired from work. Leo offered me to eat out, I agreed because I wouldn't have time to cook later. We ate seafood and I felt happy to be alone with Leo because we had never been this close before, only after becoming a married couple did we get close.
After all the hustle and bustle at the hospital and the congratulations from my coworkers, I felt like I wanted to dive deeper into Leo's feelings for me. When we were sitting together in the living room after work, I dared to ask, "Leo, since when did you actually like me?"
He looked at me with a soft smile, and I could see the light in his eyes. "Since the first time we met," he answered, his voice firm and honest. "I immediately felt there was something special about you."
I was surprised to hear his answer. "Really? I never knew you had feelings like that earlier," I said, feeling a little embarrassed but also happy.
Leo continued, "I often notice how you interact with others, how warm and caring you are. You have a unique way of making people around you feel comfortable. It fascinates me." Telling him about his emotional memories made me feel the intimacy between us.
"It all happened without me realizing it," I replied, surprised by how much he knew about me. "Did you see it all from afar?"
He nodded, looking serious. "Yes, I just didn't know how to tell you, and I didn't want to bother you, especially when you were in the process of starting a relationship with Orion. But after you finished everything, I felt like this was an opportunity I couldn't pass up."
Hearing all this touched my heart. "Leo, I'm grateful that you dared to take this step. I don't want this marriage to last for a short time. I hope we can build something strong and lasting together."
Leo took my hand, his eyes looking at me with feeling. "I promise not to waste this opportunity. I want us to go through all the ups and downs together. I'm ready to fight for this marriage."
Hearing Leo's promise gave me new enthusiasm and hope. We might face many challenges ahead, but we had already taken a big step by understanding and supporting each other.
As the night grew deeper, I felt comfortable and happy beside him. This moment reminded me that love doesn’t always come easy, but if it’s built on honesty and mutual understanding, it will grow stronger over time.
With hope and love growing, I was determined to make our marriage a meaningful and happy journey. No one who tried to ruin our relationship would succeed, because we were committed to supporting each other and facing all obstacles together.
Leo’s openness about his feelings made me want to dig deeper into him. However, when I asked him directly, “Are you a human?”
Leo replied jokingly, “What if I’m an alien?”
I smiled, taking his statement as a silly joke. However, deep inside, there was a growing curiosity. What if it’s true?
Leo saw my expression and immediately continued. “Don’t worry, Zara. There are many things you may not know about me. But what I want to say is, no matter what happens, I want you to stay by my side forever.”
His words were warm and confident, but as he continued, there was something that added tension to the atmosphere of the room. “I promise I won’t hurt you because you’re the woman I love,” he said, his gaze serious enough to send shivers down my spine.
A shiver ran down my spine as I heard those words. There was something mysterious and deep about his statement, and even though I wanted to see it as a joke, a feeling of uncertainty still lingered in my mind. Is there a big secret he’s keeping?
However, deep in my heart, trust began to grow. Leo did have an attractive and calming aura, and I could feel his sincerity when he spoke of his love for me. Behind all the mystery, I wanted to believe that he was the right person for me, even if there were things that might not be fully revealed.
“I’ll always be by your side, Leo,” I said, trying to reassure him. “No matter what happens, I’m committed to this relationship with you.”
He smiled at my answer, as if sensing that I was ready to face anything that might happen. I didn't know what was hidden behind his statement, but I was sure that we could face any challenge together.
The deeper we talked, the stronger the bond between us. The curiosity about the other side of Leo became an interesting challenge for me. I felt that even though there were many secrets between us, sincere love was the best foundation to build a future together.
That night, while sharing stories and laughter, I felt that there was a part of Leo that I might not fully understand now, but only time could answer all my questions about who he really was. And as long as he was with me, I was determined to continue living new, unforgettable memories.
When I returned home, the atmosphere inside was calm. However, as soon as I stepped inside, I saw Cindy already there and asked to chat with Leo.
"We need to talk!" Cindy said.
Leo just nodded and followed his sister's steps.
My heart fluttered a little as I watched them discuss intimately. It felt strange, as if without me, they could enjoy their time alone.
