Chapter 93
Zara's POV
Leo took my hand, encouraging me. “You don’t have to feel bad. We still have each other and this family. Orion will always be a part of our journey, no matter where he is.”
We both looked at each other and in that silence, I felt the strength of our love as a bond. Though there was much to face and much to lose, this love would always be there, binding us together on a long and challenging journey.
With a glimmer of optimism, I realized that we could continue to live our lives and create new memories, even though half of us had to leave. From here, we will build a future together, filled with hope and love, cherishing all the experiences that have taught us the meaning of friendship and family.
After Leo returned, my happiness was indescribable. The loneliness that haunted me while he was gone seemed to evaporate, replaced by the warmth of his presence. Feeling Leo's love and support beside me made everything feel better. Even though we were still living in my mother's house, I felt confident that our lives would slowly return to normal.
That afternoon, we sat in the living room of our house, chatting casually. I couldn't hide my joy as I shared stories about everything that had happened while Leo was gone. "You won't believe everything that has happened, Leo," I said, my eyes sparkling as I wanted to share all the details. "Kayra is very healthy now, but while you were gone, she had a high fever and had to be hospitalized. I was so worried, but she's back home and is now cheerful again."
Leo listened to every word I said, his face full of concern. "I'm so lucky to have come back in time to see Kayra. I miss her so much,” he said, his face lighting up as he heard about our beloved daughter.
“I miss you so much too. Every second I wait for news from you is hard. But when Kayra has a fever, I try to stay strong. This only makes me appreciate more how much we mean to each other,” I said, sharing the deep feelings that have been enveloping me for so long.
As I told my story, Leo listened attentively without interrupting. “And she’s all grown up now! You wouldn’t believe it, she’s crawling and laughing every time she hears our voices. Every day, I feel like everything is going so fast,” I continued, my face unable to hide the happiness.
We laughed and shared memories, feeling the strong bond between us again. There were so many stories I wanted to tell since she left, and once again, I felt grateful to be able to share them with Leo.
“I can’t wait to spend time with Kayra, playing with her and watching her grow. She’s the most important part of our lives,” Leo said softly, then looked at me as he reminded me of how precious this little family is.
Our conversation continued, filled with laughter, nostalgia, and hope for the future. Leo’s presence beside me added strength, erasing any fears that might have been bothering me. We were committed to raising Kayra together, creating beautiful memories, just like we had dreamed.
When night fell, the two of us sat on the couch, sharing stories until late at night, and I felt so grateful to be with him again. Although things were not yet completely stable, we were ready to face every challenge that would come, together—as a family.
With every thought, I realized that the love we had was the main force in our journey.
However, the warm and pleasant atmosphere was suddenly interrupted when my mother appeared in the living room. “Zara, Leo, I have an idea. It’s time for you to go on your honeymoon!” she said in an excited tone.
I was shocked to hear the suggestion. “Honeymoon? Mom, that’s not possible now. We just came back from a difficult situation, and Kayra is still very young,” I said, a little panicked.
Mom smiled but also looked serious. “But you deserve some time together. You’ve been through a lot, and the time to live the love you have is not to be taken for granted. Maybe it won’t take long, just a few days to refresh your minds and emotions.”
Leo smiled, looking excited by the idea. “I think it could be a good time for us to take a break and reconnect. We could leave Kayra here with you, Mom.”
My heart swelled when Leo agreed to the idea, but there was a part of me that felt anxious. “But what about Kayra and our responsibilities? She still needs attention,” I said, trying to weigh everything.
Mom comforted me, “I’ll take care of Kayra. She’s doing better, and I can help you take care of her. This is your time, Zara. Besides, time together is important for both of your health.”
After listening to Mom’s thoughts and seeing the glimmer of hope in Leo’s eyes, I began to consider the suggestion. Maybe we needed to find some time to relax and share the beauty of our marriage that had previously been interrupted by obstacles.
“I don’t want to feel rushed, but maybe this isn’t a bad idea,” I said slowly, starting to open up to the possibility. “We could plan something simple.”
Leo took my hand in his, offering support and encouragement. “We could find a place nearby and come home in a few days. Mom is here to help, and I’m sure we’ll come back refreshed and ready to take on any challenge.”
I smiled, feeling a weight lift. “Okay, let’s talk more about it. If everything is ready, maybe we can do it,” I said hopefully.
Mom seemed pleased and went back to talking about plans. With this decision, maybe we could find a way to rekindle our love in a flavorful trip. As the night wore on, we planned this little getaway, hoping it would give us a chance to get to know each other better—as a couple and as a family.
After some discussion, Leo and I began planning our honeymoon destination. With Kayra’s situation improving and Mom’s support, we were excited to explore new places and create beautiful memories together.
“I want a villa,” I told Leo excitedly. “A place that can provide a peaceful atmosphere away from the crowds. We can enjoy nature, rest, and celebrate little moments just the two of us.”
