Chapter 60

Zara's POV
Leo’s face lit up with joy. “Twins? That’s amazing!” He stepped closer, looking into my blissful face. “This news makes me so happy. We’re going to have two!”
Without hesitation, I explained more about the ultrasound and how everything looked good. Seeing the big smile on his face made me feel more confident and sure about our future. “We’re in this together, Leo. I want us to create a safe and loving life for them.”
Leo nodded in agreement. “Of course, Zara. This is a new journey for us, and I’m committed to providing my full support. We’ll plan everything together and create a comfortable home for them.”
Holding hands, we began to imagine all that was to come. Imagine two little ones running around the house, their laughter complementing the warmth of the love that was growing between us.
Now, there was a growing hope for a brighter future, and I had found the strength within myself to do what was best for our twins. One step at a time, we would get through this.
With happiness, I kept looking at the ultrasound photos of the twins stored on my phone. Seeing those little pictures made my heart flutter. Even though I am a gynecologist, being a mother and experiencing this pregnancy is a very different new experience. However, I am still grateful to be given the opportunity to be a mother and have cute babies even though they are still in the womb.
Suddenly, the desire to eat pizza came to my mind. This desire grew stronger, and I immediately told Leo about it. “I want to eat pizza! I think that's what I want right now,” I said, feeling excited about the choice.
Leo smiled, seeming to understand. “Maybe this is your craving. Come on, let's go to my favorite pizza shop,” he said while holding my hand, giving me a warm and comfortable feeling.
The two of us walked towards one of the pizza shops located on the side of the road. The atmosphere at night was very pleasant; the city lights sparkled, and the fragrant aroma of pizza wafting made my stomach rumble. Outside the shop, there were several families and friends enjoying their food in a cheerful atmosphere.
After sitting at the table provided, Leo and I ordered a large pizza with various tempting toppings. While waiting for our order, we made small talk, shared stories and laughed. Leo looked very excited, and seeing his face made me feel like all the burdens I had ever felt disappeared.
"I want to write down all these beautiful memories, Zara. Moments like this are the most precious," Leo said, looking at me lovingly.
"Yes, these moments are part of our journey. And we must appreciate every happiness, including moments of cravings like this!" I replied with a laugh.
The pizza we ordered arrived, and when the aroma of cheese and tomato sauce invaded my senses, I couldn't help myself. With great enthusiasm, I started eating it. The delicious taste made me smile. "This is indeed a very appetizing taste!" I said, unable to hide my happiness.
Leo watched with a wide smile as I enjoyed every bite of pizza. “You look so happy with this pizza. I’m glad to see you enjoying it,” she said as she took a bite of her own pizza.
We spent the night chatting warmly, occasionally joking about what it’s like to be parents of twins, and how we’ll navigate through all the ups and downs that lie ahead. This simple moment felt so precious, knocking all my previous worries away as if they were nothing.
As we finished eating and relaxed for a while, I thought about how lucky I was to have Leo by my side. Now, with my pregnancy growing bigger, I felt that we would be able to build a beautiful and loving future together with our babies.
As we enjoyed the quiet night, with the aroma of pizza still touching my senses, I felt a warmth and happiness flowing inside me. Every second that passed added to the feeling of enthusiasm and hope for the future we were building together.
These days have brought many changes to my life. From a medical professional focused on work, I have now transformed into a mother preparing to welcome two babies. Every decision I make now not only impacts me, but also the children who will be born into this world.
All the way home, I couldn’t stop smiling at the thought of everything that had happened. I held Leo’s hand tightly, feeling the connection between us deepen. He was so supportive of me, and his presence provided a much-needed sense of security in this situation.
“Leo, thank you for bringing me here tonight. This is such a meaningful moment for me,” I said, looking into his eyes with gratitude.
“There’s nothing to be thankful for. I want us to create many more memories like this together. Every moment with you and these babies is the most beautiful thing we could ever have,” he replied warmly.
Throughout the drive, we discussed plans for preparing for the arrival of our twins. From choosing names, setting up the nursery, to the potential we could explore in their future education. We wanted to make sure that these children had a rich, loving environment and the opportunity to grow and develop well.
When we got home, we shared a little story about pizza with Ismaya, who was excited to hear the news about my pregnancy. She couldn’t wait to join us in our journey, offering support and creative ideas for welcoming the twins.
“I know we can get through this together. We’ll make this place fit for babies, and our happiness will never end,” Ismaya said, excitedly.
As the night wore on, as everyone settled in, I reflected on everything that had happened. With a glimmer of warmth in my heart, I prayed that each step we took forward would bring us happiness and peace. That each challenge we faced would only bring us closer together.
