Chapter 89

Zara's POV
“Yes, and Mom seems supportive, too, though she’s a little surprised like you,” Zena replied, smiling confidently. “I plan to talk to you two more once I’ve worked out the plan.”
I could only nod, though my feelings were mixed. “Okay, Zena. I’ll be by your side, supporting whatever you choose, but remember to always think clearly.”
When night fell, everything felt different. Zena’s decision to get serious about her relationship reminded me of all the changes that had happened in my life. It turns out, life goes on, and everyone has their own path and decisions.
As I held Kayra and prepared to put her to bed, I knew in my heart that I had to be prepared for any changes that might come, both for me and for my family. With Mom’s support, Zena’s, and hope for the future, I was determined to move forward on our journey together.
I actually wanted to hire a babysitter to help take care of Kayra, but my mom turned down the offer. She felt that taking care of a baby was a good way to pass the time and find something to do in her life. Mom wanted to be directly involved in Kayra’s life and show her great love and attention. Although I was a little hesitant at first, I finally agreed. If it made my mom happy, then I would respect that choice.
Every time I came home from work, I immediately took Kayra from Mom so she could rest after a hard day’s work. When I opened the door and saw Mom holding Kayra, her bright smile seemed to speak volumes about the happiness she felt.
“Kayra has been sleeping for a while, but she will probably wake up soon,” Mom said softly, caressing Kayra’s cheek with affection.
“Thank you, Mom. You have done an amazing job,” I said, embracing Mom and taking Kayra. It felt good to have Mom beside me and to know that Kayra was in good hands.
That night, I breastfed her and when Kayra responded softly, my heart felt warm. Witnessing the power of love and attention flowing between the three of us gave me encouragement and a deep sense of gratitude.
With each passing day, I understood more and more how important Mom’s presence was in our lives. Not only did she strengthen the family bond, but she also made my life simpler amidst the anxiety and uncertainty. Taking care of Kayra with her was a comforting choice, making me feel like we were facing this challenge together.
When night fell and after Kayra went to bed, I often sat beside Mom to chat. We shared stories, laughed, and sometimes shared longings for calmer days. In those conversations, we grew closer, discussing the hopes and dreams we once had.
I knew that despite the sadness and challenges out there, we had each other and that was our greatest strength. With every new hope and step I took, I was determined to keep this family intact and safe. Together with Mom and Kayra, I would walk this journey with love and courage.
The long-awaited day had finally arrived—Zena’s wedding day. When I saw her in the morning, I could hardly believe how fast time had passed. She looked so graceful in a beautiful soft pink dress that made her look radiant and charming. Her cheerful smile radiated unstoppable happiness, and I felt so proud to see her standing in front of the altar.
Zena’s increasingly mature attitude toward marriage impressed me. She had been through a lot in her life, and today was proof of her growth. In my mind, I felt fortunate that she had found the right man for her—someone she trusted and loved.
As the wedding ceremony progressed, I felt a surge of emotion. As I approached to congratulate the bride and groom, I tried to convey an important message to Zena’s husband. “Listen carefully, I hope you will always treat my sister well. She means a lot to me, and I want to see her happy,” I said with hope.
He smiled, answering confidently. “I promise to make Zena happy. She is a very special person to me,” he said, and my heart was moved a little by those words.
As the ceremony continued, moments of emotion began to flow through me. When Zena officially became someone’s wife, I felt a part of my life filled with deep emotion. Remembering the times we played together, feeling how quickly she had grown up, regretting those moments, and being proud of all her accomplishments.
As Zena walked towards her place with her husband, I couldn’t hold back my tears. With love, I hugged her tightly. “I love you so much, Zena. Congratulations on your marriage. I can’t believe you’re already an adult,” I sobbed, the softness in my voice accompanying our warm embrace.
Zena was also touched and smiled at her while holding back her tears. “I will miss all the moments with you, Zara. But I promise to always contact you and share every new moment in my life,” she replied, tears of joy streaming down her cheeks.
I let go of the hug with mixed feelings. This moment symbolizes a new step in our lives, even though we have to face changes. On our journey, each of us struggled in different directions, but love and memories will always bind us.
With this marriage, I know that Zena is ready to explore her new life. Although there is a little loss because she will be living apart from me, I promise to support her fully and be grateful for every moment we have shared. It is time for her to form her own path, and as an older sister, I feel proud and excited to see her take this step.
After the ceremony, the reception was filled with joy. Friends and family gathered, laughing, and celebrating the new love that had blossomed between Zena and her husband. I tried to capture every smile and precious moment, wanting to treasure them forever.
