Chapter 8

Zara's POV
I can't believe that this morning Doctor Leo and I were trapped in this room's escalator. Until my sweat fell even though it was still very early in the morning. So did Doctor Leo, he also looked hot and started to sweat.
"How is this?" I asked in panic but still acted calm.
"Um, let's turn on the emergency contact."
"Yes, that's right."
We started trying to ask for help. Hoping that we would get out of here safely soon.
After trying to call for help. Doctor Leo and I waited until someone really helped us in this room so we could get out immediately. I kept looking at the hands on the watch I was wearing that didn't stop moving. I felt frustrated being trapped here for quite a long time. Unconsciously my vision started to feel yellow and suddenly dark. I don't remember anything, I just felt tightness in my chest.
I seemed to be running out of oxygen. But strangely Doctor Leo was still fine with his breathing. Is Doctor Leo not human? In a situation like this, I had time to imagine that Doctor Leo was not from the human race. My eyelids almost closed. But I saw Doctor Leo starting to panic. My vision was a bit blurry but it seemed real in front of me right now.
"Doctor Leo? Is that you?" I muttered not too loudly. I felt very weak.
"Yes, it's me." He answered emphatically.
I saw Doctor Leo starting to change into a scary figure. Whether it was in the form of a monster or an alien like in the movies. But I saw this as real. Starting from the process of his transformation until he really took on the scary form he has now.
"You have to hold on, Doctor Zara!"
I became weaker and suddenly started to lose myself.
"Doctor Zara?" I heard his screams echoing in the escalator of this room until it vibrated my eardrums.
But I was already very weak and helpless. It was even difficult to move my body. My lips felt stiff and my eyelids were hard to lift. I couldn't open my eyes now. I had difficulty doing anything except feeling touch and hearing sounds from outside myself.
"How is this?" Doctor Leo's voice was clearly audible.
I heard it but couldn't respond. He seemed panicked by my condition. But I don't know what he did to me. It seemed like he was going to give me first aid. But what did he do to me? What did he do to me? I felt my lips being kissed and felt mucus sticking to the walls of my mouth. Until finally I started to feel like I had energy. Feeling unusual energy again. A moment after I felt the touch. Suddenly I was able to open my eyes. I opened both of my eyelids. I found Doctor Leo still in human form. I also didn't find any mucus left in my mouth area. Maybe I was just hallucinating because I was too weak and helpless earlier.
"Doctor Leo?" My voice was still a little weak.
"Huh, Doctor Zara? Are you awake? Finally, you are awake."
After a few minutes, I realized suddenly the escalator door of this room opened wide automatically.
"Doctor Zara? Are you okay?"
I was still in a sitting position because I couldn't stand up yet. So I was carried out of the escalator of this room together.
"Sorry, there was an obstacle earlier so it took a long time."
"Yes, no problem, what is clear is that Doctor Zara is getting better." Doctor Leo said.
"Okay then, Doctor Zara can rest first to recover her condition."
"No! No! I have to go to work immediately. Moreover, today my schedule is very busy."
I insisted on continuing my activities today at the hospital. I don't want to spend a lot of time relaxing and lazing around. I have to finish my tasks one by one. So that everything is finished quickly and I am no longer haunted by my own thoughts. If I let my work be neglected, it will pile up. I don't want my workload to increase if I have to take a break even for a moment.
"Zara, are you okay?" Orion asked.
Suddenly he came over to me with a panicked expression. It turned out that Orion kept his promise to come here early. I thought he would ignore my invitation. But it turned out not to be, he came to fulfill my call last night.
"Orion, have you been here for a long time?"
"Yes, I've been waiting for you in front of your office since early morning."
"Okay, let's get started!" I immediately had a new spirit to start today's work.
Everyone here looked surprised to see me who suddenly became more energetic. I was very excited if everyone was present to be invited to work together.
"Come on, Doctor Leo!" I looked at him. He was still standing still watching me.
At first glance, there was an unusual look from Doctor Leo at Orion. I understood his different attitude.
Until we arrived at my office. Everyone gathered, and after, Doctor Leo called his friend via his cell phone. He presented an expert who was also a gynecologist. While I presented Orion as the leader of the journalist team who would help us in the research process later. Now that everything is complete.
"Let me introduce myself, Doctor Zara, this is an obstetrician and gynecologist." Doctor Leo opened.
"Let me introduce myself, I'm Darius."
"Yes, I'm Zara, this is Orion. Orion is Doctor Leo."
We introduced ourselves first before getting to the core of the discussion. To better understand the workflow, we must first know each other. At least know the name and profession first. No more than that, we must know the deeper personal side. Maybe that will open up for a moment in the research process later.
"Okay, let's start discussing!" I invited.
Everyone was ready and agreed to my invitation. Without delaying too long. Because our time was wasted by an unexpected accident that would happen. Today was almost wasted, but fortunately, Doctor Leo and I were able to get out of the broken escalator room.
We also started discussing many things related to our future plans regarding this research. Dividing each other's tasks and being ready to go into the field to find the truth that has been happening so far behind the big phenomenon that is rampant.
After agreeing on the division of work portions. We started execution and prepared a new team to help. This is just the core team that the four of us will develop.
"Okay then, I'll say goodbye to leaving. Because I have to immediately prepare a team for all of this." Darius said.
Meanwhile, in my office, there were only the three of us: me, Doctor Leo, and Orion. We suddenly fell silent and stared at each other.
