Chapter 46

Zara's POV
“You’re so beautiful, Zara!” My best friend Ismaya’s voice broke my reverie, but still, it didn’t make me feel any better. The happy moment that I should have been living was ruined by the continuous doubts.
There was pressure pushing me to fight and continue the marriage, but an inner voice inside me kept asking the same question. This uncomfortable feeling was not something I could ignore. I felt that if I continued with it, it would only hurt everyone involved.
“I’m not sure I can go through with this,” I thought, guilt looming over me. Decisions should come from the heart, and right now, my heart feels torn.
I took a deep breath, telling myself to calm down. Maybe I should talk to Orion before anything happened, but at the same time, I was afraid of the consequences of that decision. Afraid of how people, especially my family, would react.
The momentous occasion loomed before me, making me rethink what I feared and what I was fighting for. Would I be able to take the step for my own happiness?
With my mind reeling, I resolved to wait a moment before proceeding to the altar. As everyone got ready, I knew there would be many paths ahead—and perhaps the biggest decision of my life was just seconds away.
Moments before the ceremony began, Orion took my hand and led me down the aisle. The atmosphere around us was festive, but inside, mixed feelings continued to stir. As we stood in front of the guests, he looked at me deeply.
“Zara, I do love you,” he said softly, his voice full of honesty. “But I’m also not sure about what happened between us. This life is full of doubts.”
Those words stirred my emotions. I knew he loved me, but deep down, there was a doubt that kept haunting me. Before I could react, Orion suddenly turned around and walked towards the guest area. I was shocked, not knowing what was happening, and could feel my heart beating fast.
Orion then took Dr. Leo’s hand, who was surprised to be called to the front. “I know you love Zara,” Orion said firmly, making such a shocking confession. “And I will be happy if Zara marries you, not me.”
When those words came out of his lips, the atmosphere around me felt silent for a moment. Feelings of emotion and happiness mixed together inside me. The eyes of the guests followed every movement, attentive to the drama that had just happened in front of the altar.
I looked at Leo, seeing a mixture of emotions on his face—confusion and disbelief clashing. Meanwhile, relief flowed through me. How could Orion do this for me? He gave my heart the opportunity to choose without pressure, even in the midst of these most important moments.
“Zara, if you want to be with Leo, don’t hesitate to follow him,” Orion continued, repeating his words sincerely. “I won’t force you to choose me if your heart isn’t in it.”
Hearing that statement made me even more moved. Tears almost fell from the corners of my eyes as I realized how much Orion’s love and sacrifice were. He not only loved me but also wanted my happiness—even if it meant letting me go.
Suddenly, I felt awakened by all these feelings. The struggle I had felt all this time had become an epiphany. I wanted to love someone with all my heart and know that love was expected.
“Orion,” I said softly, trying to convey everything in my heart. But when I turned my gaze to Leo, there was hope shining in his eyes, as if he had been waiting for this moment to come.
With courage, I made a decision. “If this is how it should be, then I will follow my heart. However, I want what’s best for all of us,” I said, looking at the two men in front of me.
Today was supposed to be my wedding day with Orion, but instead, he gave me the freedom to find true happiness. And today, before that step is taken, I know that no matter what happens, I will be grateful for this opportunity—the chance to love and be chosen by both Orion and Leo.
With this momentous occasion before me, I am ready to take the right step, to embrace a future full of hope, whatever comes next.
Finally, the unexpected day has arrived. I am marrying Leo, a step I never imagined. As I stood at the altar, with Leo by my side, feelings of emotion and happiness filled me. Orion, my ex, was a witness at this wedding, and seeing him there gave me mixed feelings.
I never thought this marriage would happen. My parents had always wanted me to be with Orion, and there were many hopes for our togetherness. But life often presents surprises, and in the midst of this journey, I found a true and deep love in Leo.
Even though there was a feeling of sadness because of the broken relationship with Orion, I also felt how big Orion's heart was. Not only did he witness this happy day, but he also showed that true love means being ready to let go for the happiness of the loved one. Seeing his sincere smile despite his longing touched my heart.
My parents were also present, and there was a deep emotion between us. I realized how much they wanted me to be happy, and even though this reality was not in accordance with their hopes, I prayed that they would accept my decision. Their support would mean a lot to me.
Zena, my younger sister, was also present and looked touched. She was always by my side, supporting my every decision. Seeing the tears in her eyes touched me. She understood the feelings I tried to hide, and our bond grew stronger as I made the decision.
