Chapter 19 Something Happened to Cynthia

When Olivia said this, Kenneth, who was normally composed, showed some confusion.

He appeared to misinterpret her intentions.

His thoughts raced, 'Weren't we just talking about changing rooms? Why does she want to move out?'

Tom and the others exchanged bewildered looks, assuming Olivia was exaggerating a minor issue.

"Is this really necessary?" Kenneth questioned.

To him, it seemed like a minor issue.

Owen appeared indifferent, remarking, "You're no longer a child. The Sinclair family does not tolerate running away from home."

He questioned Olivia's willingness to leave, especially given the Sinclairs's prominence compared to the Parkers.

Lauren interjected, feigning persuasion, "Olivia, Kenneth simply reprimanded you for your mistake. Why are you causing such a fuss? You know how temperamental you can be."

Kenneth felt something was wrong at that point.

Yesterday, he noticed Tom's attitude toward Olivia and attributed it to adolescent rebellion. Now it appeared that not only Tom, but also Owen, Quinn, and Lauren were hostile to Olivia.

Their arrogance, especially in front of him, raised Kenneth's concerns. He wondered, 'What happens when I'm not here?'

"Olivia, I..." Kenneth began, furrowing his brow, wanting to clarify,, but Olivia expressed no interest in further discussion.

She turned away and called out to the house. The snow-white fox jumped into her arms.

Olivia hugged the fox and grabbed the bag she'd brought from her rental house. She descended the stairs, holding the unopened bag tightly, just as she had when she first arrived.

Kenneth realized then that he had made a mistake. He reached out in an unsuccessful attempt to stop her.

"Olivia, if you have any complaints, please tell me. Don't..." Kenneth began, hoping to keep her from making rash decisions.

But Olivia met his gaze calmly. "I don't have any grievances," she said simply.

She had accepted the situation.

Olivia had long realized how fragile her family ties were.

For eighteen years, she had never felt truly welcomed at Parker Villa. She shouldn't expect a different treatment at Sinclair Villa.

Perhaps Alexander truly accepted her, but the Sinclair Villa belonged to more than him.

Olivia chose to distance herself from the others because she was unable to connect with them.

Olivia envisioned a future free of the Parker family's constraints, one in which she could live on her own terms.

Olivia confidently passed Kenneth with the little fox in her arms, not even looking back.

Tom muttered, "Leaving like this is so irresponsible." Before he could finish, Ethan slapped him on the head.

"Stop yapping. Keep quiet!" Ethan snapped, ending Tom's complaints.

Alexander, who had been silent until now, finally took action by stepping forward to follow Olivia.

Olivia expected Alexander to stop her, so she was surprised when Alexander told Zach to arrange for a car to send her away.

His handsome face softened with compassion as he assured her, "You've done nothing wrong."

Olivia was puzzled by his words.

Alexander continued, "You've just returned home. If you tolerate everything, others will see you as an easy target and take advantage of you. By asserting yourself from the start, you make them reconsider."

Olivia felt relieved and confused as a result of his words.

She wondered, 'Did Alexander interpret my mention of moving out as me asserting myself?'

Regardless, Olivia had a genuine desire to leave.
She was about to explain herself. "I am not...".

But Alexander gently interrupted her, "I have an apartment at Riverside Residence. You can stay there for two days. A housekeeper will come every day to clean and cook for you. Relax and stay there in peace.

His eyes narrowed slightly. "I'll provide you with an explanation for today's events."

Olivia was speechless when she met Alexander's serious gaze.

Olivia's ideal brother would be someone like Alexander.
Olivia liked her brother.

She tilted her head slightly, feeling the comforting warmth of his large palms on her head.

"You are my sister. Since they don't seem to understand that, it's time to set things straight and clear away their nonsense," Alexander said with his usual gentle smile, though his eyes hinted at a dangerous coldness.

Olivia could almost imagine Alexander smiling as he metaphorically twisted their cousins' heads, like cabbage heads, one by one.

Olivia swallowed nervously and softly said, "Okay."

She couldn't help but be filled with anticipation.

Olivia paused to load Emily into the car before retrieving two jewelry bags from her backpack and handing them to Alexander.

"I carved these pieces myself. I had intended to give one to you and the other to him," she said, referring to Kenneth.

However, given the recent events, Olivia did not feel comfortable giving it to Kenneth directly, so she entrusted it to Alexander.

Alexander's beautiful eyes lit up when he learned they were her creations. He smiled and accepted them, adding, "I'll keep them close."

Olivia nodded silently and climbed into the car without saying anything.

As the car drove away, Alexander stood there, watching it until it vanished. Eventually, he turned slowly. The gentle smile had vanished from his face, replaced by an icy cold.

Kenneth and the others waited anxiously inside the villa. When they saw Alexander return alone, they realized he hadn't manage to convince Olivia to stay.

Kenneth experienced a pang of disappointment. "Did Olivia refuse to stay?"

Alexander ignored Kenneth's question and approached calmly. "Father, I believe it's necessary for me to explain in detail what transpired today."

For some reason, when Tom and the others heard Alexander's composed tone, shivers ran down their spines at the same time.

Meanwhile, in the car, Olivia ignored the Sinclairs and took a magic card from her bag.

She had not expected her connection to the Sinclair family to be discovered so quickly. Her uninvited visit meant that the Edwards family had no reason to approach Kenneth, despite their familial ties.

The intensity of the Edwards family's reaction suggested trouble for Cynthia.
