Chapter 57 Love's Charm
Lily enjoyed uncovering the truth. After she returned home, she immediately had someone investigate the timing and themes of nearby art exhibition contests.
Since Haereth University had an art department, there were many of these competitions, but the topics were different each time.
Once she found out the details, she knew that the man had deliberately fallen. The competition's theme had nothing to do with hands.
However, if she had agreed to make the hand model, there would inevitably have been some physical contact between them, such as him applying plaster directly onto her face.
Someone like Lily, a naive young girl, would easily fall in love in such a specific situation.
Lily sneered, thinking about Olivia's reminder to beware of villains. She had someone investigate the identity of the male student and the people he had recently interacted with. Soon, she came to a conclusion. Indeed, it was a villain's trap. He was her stepbrother.
After seeing Lauren off, Lily looked at Olivia sitting in front of her without any nervousness. She simply recounted the events of this morning and stared intently at her. "You mentioned before that I could come to you."
Olivia remained silent. She reached into her bag and took out a magic card. "This is an Anti-Villain Card. If someone tries to scheme against you again, this magic card will directly backfire on them."
Lily, upon hearing this, did not immediately accept the card. "Next time? What about this time?"
"Aren't you unharmed?" Olivia asked back.
"I may not have been harmed, but I don't like being manipulated." Lily squinted. She then sat right next to Olivia and asked, "Besides the Anti-Villain Card, do you have a Bad Romance Card?"
As soon as Olivia heard this, she understood what Lily meant. She wanted revenge. However, Olivia liked this personality.
Olivia thought for a moment, took out a clean piece of paper and a pen from her bag, and kneeled on the carpet with a straight posture.
Then, she began drawing a magic card, which she completed in an instant.
It was the first time Lily had seen someone draw a magic card. She always felt that when Olivia picked up the pen, the air around her changed, giving her a sense of another dimension.
Earlier today, when Olivia came to her door, Lily had some doubts in her mind. However, at that moment just now, she completely believed that Olivia truly had the ability.
With the magic card in hand, Lily felt a hint of sentimentality. "I was just casually asking. I didn't expect your Mystical Sect to actually have this kind of magic card."
"We don't." Olivia looked at Lily with a surprised expression and explained with a smile, "Mystical Sect doesn't have a Bad Romance Card, but it does have a Luck Romance Card."
Olivia pointed to the final stroke on the magic card in her hand. "This extra stroke has now transformed this magic card from a Luck Romance Card into a Bad Romance Card.
There were many variations of magic cards. Many magic cards were derived from ancestral spells, and different magic cards had the same effect. For example, many people were seeking Weight Lossing Cards, Good Luck Cards, and Reading Cards online, and she could draw them all.
For example, the Weight Lossing Card was equivalent to the Mind Clearing Card, which reduced worldly desires, including eating.
The Good Luck Card could have been the Luck Gathering Card, although gathering luck was about improving one's own fortune, rather than obtaining it from elsewhere.
Olivia generally didn't draw this type of magic card for people.
As for the Reading Card, it combined the Mind Clearing Card with the Concentrating Card, guaranteeing a focused and concentrated state of mind, doubling the efficiency of reading.
Lily understood, saying, "I didn't expect it could be like this."
She happily accepted the cards, along with the Anti-Villain Card she just received. She was about to express her gratitude when a phone was handed to her.
Olivia calmly said, "The Anti-Villain Card is six hundred dollars, and the Bad Romance Card is one thousand dollars, for a total of one thousand six hundred dollars."
Lily didn't find it too expensive and quickly transferred the money to her phone.
After receiving the payment, before Olivia could retrieve her phone, Lily quickly tapped her phone screen twice, opening WhatsApp and adding Olivia as a friend without hesitation. "We'll be good friends from now on, making it easier to stay in touch."
Seeing that Olivia still had something to say, Lily added, "It can also be used for remote money transfers."
Olivia suddenly stopped speaking, smiled, and accepted the friend request.
In no time, she received a message notification.
It was from Tom: [Tom has transferred $600 to you. Please collect the payment.].
Olivia hadn't reacted yet when she heard Tom's voice.
At the staircase on the second floor, the teenager excitedly waved at her with his phone. "Hey, sis! I want that Anti-Villain Card too! Keep one for me as well!"
Olivia and Lily looked at each other helplessly.
"Tom, how dare you eavesdrop on our conversation upstairs? Come down!" Lily shouted at Tom, with her hands on her hips. It was clear that Lily and Tom were not meeting for the first time.
"Do you think I will come down just because you told me to? Why should I listen to you?" Tom remained hot-tempered as always.
Olivia looked up and said, "Come down and get the magic card."
Tom's face instantly changed. "Alright, sis!"
The rapid change in attitude shocked Lily.
Lily silently turned her head toward Olivia, curious about how Olivia managed to tame Tom in such a short period.
At the dinner party that day, although Tom did not intentionally oppose Olivia, his attitude toward his cousin was not very good.
"How did you do it?" Lily asked.
Olivia knew she was referring to Tom and didn't hide it. "He had an argument with Megan."
Although Tom appeared as if he wanted to break up with Megan, Olivia didn't believe that he could easily escape Megan's control.
Upon hearing Megan's name, Lily's expression became subtly complicated. "Speaking of Megan, there's an interesting thing you probably don't know."
Olivia glanced at her.
Lily smiled and said, "Megan's original name was Maeve, but before she came to the Sinclair Villa, she heard that the Sinclair family didn't like that name, so she changed it to Megan."
Olivia raised an eyebrow. She noted Lily's emphasis on "before she came to the Sinclair Villa."
It seemed that she had made considerable efforts to become a member of the Sinclair family.
"Did you know each other before?" Olivia asked.
Lily said, "We happened to be in the same class in elementary school."
Olivia didn't ask any further questions because Tom had already pushed open the door to the side hall.
"Sis, I'm here!" Tom approached Olivia as he spoke.
Lily didn't like Tom's obsequious look on his face. She said, "Tom, do you know anything about manners? Olivia and I were discussing something, and you dared to eavesdrop from upstairs!"
Tom responded rudely, "This is my house, and I overheard your conversation in my own house. That's not eavesdropping! It was just that you were speaking too loudly! Besides, I couldn't care less about your adopted sister's trivial matters!"
"Tom, I think you're asking for a beating!" Lily sneered.
Tom was scared by her expression but continued, "Go ahead! My sister will protect me!"
Olivia glanced at Lily and casually twisted her wrist, muttering softly, "I've drawn too many magic cards, my wrist hurts," implying that she wouldn't stop Lily.
