Chapter 28 The Unique One

The kids had at least millions of pocket money saved up, and it was extremely easy for them to buy a house and move out. Despite this financial capability, all of Sinclair's siblings continued to live together because their father, Percival, insisted on them staying under one roof.

Surprisingly, the boys felt a little envious of Olivia, who had the opportunity to live independently. Kenneth, unaware of his nephews' emotions, had anticipated Olivia's reluctance to return home. He came with a plan in mind.

"If you truly do not want to return home, that is fine. I purchased a villa on the east side last night. We can relocate and live on our own as long as you're willing," Kenneth said earnestly to Olivia, Alexander, and himself.

If they moved out, the other kids in the family wouldn't be able to harass her anymore, and he could also use this opportunity to mend his relationship with Olivia.

Kenneth said this seriously, which surprised Tom and the other two, who had been planning to buy a house to live outside secretly.

Kenneth had mentioned last night that he wanted to move out on his own, but they thought he was trying to scare them. However, he turned out to be serious, and he had even already bought a house.

Olivia did not expected Kenneth's proposal, especially given the family rule articulated by Alexander. "As long as our parents are alive, we will all live together." Although she had moved out, she had not fully considered the potential reaction of the rest of the family.

Kenneth's plan was clearly designed with Olivia's safety in mind, leaving her temporarily unable to formulate a firm refusal.

"You don't have to go to such lengths," Olivia protested. "You don't owe me anything," she said, acknowledging that she did not owe him anything in return.

Kenneth felt a sharp twinge in his heart when he heard Olivia's composed response. He thought, 'No, I owe her. I owe her 18 years of paternal love.'

"I understand that words cannot make up for lost time. But, Olivia, your brother and I will provide you with a new home starting today, okay?" Kenneth's tone was gentle, with a plea in it.

Olivia's hand tightened by her side as she felt an emotional tremor. Without waiting for her response, Kenneth continued, "If you really don't want to, I can also relocate here..."

Olivia, along with the three others, were taken aback when they heard Kenneth's offer. They wondered, 'Is Uncle Kenneth out of his mind?'

Kenneth remained unfazed by their incredulous expressions, surveying the house in front of him. "This part of the house is cramped. I'll have Alexander buy the adjacent properties, and we can merge them later." He was already making plans.

Olivia spoke up right when they were about to interject. "I'll move back," she said calmly, her tone tinged with resignation. She had never intended to coerce Kenneth into doing anything, but his willingness to compromise for her elicited unexpected emotions in her.

She realized she wasn't as indifferent as she had thought, and was still moved by the man she referred to as "father." More importantly, she acknowledged Kenneth's unwavering support for her.

He was willing to sacrifice for her, and she treasured that gesture deeply. Furthermore, she did not want to be held responsible for the Sinclair family's division.

Olivia, with only two months until college, complied without demanding an apology, surprising them all. They had expected Olivia to insist on receiving apologies upon their arrival.

Initially hesitant to apologize, they were now frustrated by Olivia's lack of requests. Her actions made them feel unnecessary, which bothered them.

...

Returning to Sinclair Villa, Tom and the others avoided confronting Olivia for fear that she would return to her humble rental house, tarnishing the Sinclair family's reputation. Even Jessica, the youngest, greeted her obediently.

As Alexander had said earlier, "At the moment you experience unfairness, you should firmly express your attitude. Let them know your temper so that they won't dare provoke you in the future easily."

When Olivia arrived home, Alexander stood at the door, smiling at her, just like the first time he had seen her.

"Olivia, welcome home."

Megan was also waiting in the hall. As soon as she saw Olivia, she approached and said affectionately, "Olivia, I'm glad you're back. Your grandfather has already sent invitations to all the families for tonight in advance. If you didn't come back, nobody would know what to do."

Megan's voice was sweet words only hinted at their true intentions; they were coaxing Olivia back to avoid awkwardness at an upcoming dinner, rather than out of genuine desire for her company.

If Olivia had been more perceptive, she might have begun to think about it further. But she looked at Megan calmly before smiling suddenly.

"It's only a dinner. If it cannot happen today, it can wait until tomorrow. "Outsiders won't deny my place in the Sinclair family because of one missed dinner," she said, subtly nudging Alexander to agree. "Isn't that right, Alexander?"

Struggling to contain his amusement, Alexander nodded. "Indeed, you're Miss Sinclair, one-of-a-kind and irreplaceable," his tone suggestive. Megan's composure wavered briefly, but she quickly recovered her smile. "Alexander is absolutely right," she added.

Meanwhile, Jessica felt a twinge of frustration, but she didn't dare to express it for fear of provoking Kenneth's ire. She looked at her mother helplessly, silently asking, "If Olivia is one-of-a-kind, then what am I?" Lauren could only return the sympathetic gaze.

"The stylist is waiting upstairs. Olivia, hurry and try on the dress. Tonight is your debut as a Sinclair, so it should be fantastic," Angela said with a smile. Kenneth, displaying uncommon gentleness, eagerly anticipated seeing her in the new outfit. "Go ahead."

Walter had already planned Olivia's dress and jewelry. With his extensive fashion industry, he had arranged for her to choose from three exclusive custom-made dresses, as well as matching heels and bespoke jewelry.

Olivia had previously attended banquets with the Parker family and was familiar with such procedures. She quickly chose a black and white off-the-shoulder mermaid gown. Even Tom and the others, who had previously dismissed her, were captivated as she emerged in her makeup.

The gown's black off-the-shoulder design, which was shorter in the front and longer in the back, exuded elegance and grace. It was embellished with clusters of white camellias along the short hem, lending a touch of splendor to her dignified ensemble.

Olivia's tall, statuesque figure and flawless skin stood out against the black fabric, making her even more stunning. The off-the-shoulder style accentuated her graceful collarbone and delicate shoulders perfectly.

A white camellia satin ribbon, which matched the skirt, encircled her slender neck. Her hair was adorned with pearls, which added a hint of opulence. Everyone was taken aback by her beauty from the moment they saw her.

Their words were forgotten as they were transfixed by her presence. Even their breathing seemed lighter. Olivia, like the most exquisite white camellia in bloom, exuded purity and perfection. Unnoticed, she had quietly matured, and now, at Sinclair Villa, she would finally reveal her most stunning self.
