Chapter 26 A Commission Fee of Six Hundred Thousand Dollars

"Cynthia was supposed to be healthy and happy, but someone used black magic on her in her childhood, which caused her to become like this and changed her destiny," Olivia patiently explained to the Edwards family, adding, "In fact, I came here earlier to help Cynthia regain her intelligence..."

Jennifer had stopped listening to Olivia's explanations. She nodded and said with a trembling voice, "Yes, yes, Master Sinclair told me this before. I... I forgot."

With that, she suddenly grabbed Olivia's hand, tears welling up in her eyes, and exclaimed excitedly, "Master Sinclair, are you saying that... if Cynthia regains her intelligence, she can be like a normal person?"

"Yes."

Upon hearing Olivia's words, Jennifer cried again. Zachary and Henry were also excited to hear this.

Amidst their excitement, they also felt a sense of guilt. They felt sorry for Olivia for coming to help them, only to be kicked out by them.

Not only that, Olivia was also interrogated when Cynthia suddenly lost consciousness.

Thinking that Olivia didn't hold it against them and instead rushed over as soon as she heard about Cynthia's accident, the Edwards family felt extremely guilty.

This guilt made them feel self-reproachful.

"Thank you so much, Master Sinclair. Really, thank you so much..." Jennifer said excitedly, her voice choked with emotion.

For so many years, she had given up hope.

She had already made up her mind to take care of Cynthia even if she remained like this for the rest of her life.

Today, the words of the Young family hurt her deeply.

The fact that the Young family felt entitled to harm her just because Cynthia was mentally disabled made Jennifer feel devastated.

Now, hearing Olivia tell her that Cynthia can recover and that she can grow up like a normal person, Jennifer couldn't help but feel full of hope.

Olivia had just witnessed Jennifer's outburst over Cynthia, and now, seeing her tears for Cynthia, she was also moved.

Olivia, who had never experienced maternal love and might never have the opportunity to do so, found herself grasping the depths of such emotions through Jennifer's tears. With a slight smile, she suggested that it was time to leave, given the late hour and the events of the night.

As the Edwards family began to regain their composure, Zachary inquired about compensation in order to make a good impression on Olivia and to help Cynthia recover.

Olivia believed she deserved to be compensated for her services. Given her critical role in saving Cynthia, she believed sincerity should be demonstrated.

When the topic of payment came up, Olivia straightened slightly, anticipating the monetary exchange. Olivia enjoyed receiving payment for her work; it gave her a sense of accomplishment.

Olivia, who typically charges $6,000 per assignment, felt justified in raising her demand to $600,000, given the case's complexity and the resources she had expended.

Olivia earnestly extended six fingers. She wanted six hundred thousand dollars.

"Six hundred thousand dollars? No problem." Zachary agreed without hesitation, quickly transferring the funds to Olivia's account.

Olivia was surprised by the quick transaction and found herself holding 600,000 before she could react fully. Olivia's eyes widened slightly as she looked over the figures in her account. She swallowed her excitement and remained calm.

"I'll return to treat Cynthia in three days," Olivia said, hiding her joy beneath her composed demeanor.

Olivia was overjoyed with the substantial sum she had earned. With six hundred thousand dollars in her possession, she felt wealthy!

She thought, 'As expected, making the first move was the right decision in seizing the opportunity. I hope there will be more lucrative opportunities in the future. This way, I will soon be able to gather enough money for the Parker family's support.'

She would soon be completely free from the Parker family's influence.

Olivia departed, her steps noticeably lighter, her spirits lifted by the prospect of being free of her familial obligations.

Alexander smiled, observing Olivia's obvious joy as she received the money, without revealing his fascination with wealth.

Alexander could tell from Olivia's expression that she had probably forgotten about her unpleasant experience with the Sinclair family.

After a moment of thought, Alexander said, "Olivia, I'm sorry."

Olivia turned to face Alexander and listened intently.

"Although I knew you found Wendy, I didn't believe you could solve the Edwards family's problems. So, when Dad refused to let you get involved in the Edwards family affairs, I didn't support you. I apologize for that."

He smiled gently at Olivia and said, "But now I am certain. You are truly amazing."

Olivia smiled brightly as she heard Alexander's apology and praise.

Alexander felt relieved when he saw her so happy.

After considering Olivia's abilities, he felt compelled to seriously reconsider his plans for her future.

Previously, he thought she was short of money, but now that he had seen her earn six hundred thousand dollars all at once, he realized he was too narrow-minded.

However, Alexander felt that, even though Olivia could earn money on her own, as her older brother, he couldn't give her less pocket money.

He felt stingy after giving her only $60,000 yesterday.

Given this, after dropping Olivia off at her apartment, Alexander transferred an additional $600,000 to her.

Olivia had just completed a $300,000 transfer and was about to put her phone down when she received another $600,000.

She was surprised, not understanding how the money she had just transferred had doubled back. She questioned whether she had made a mistake. When she looked closer, she realized it had been transferred by Alexander.

"Alexander is very generous." Olivia reflected, "It appears that I have been earning far too little."

Zachary and his wife sighed with relief after escorting Olivia and Alexander out of Edwards Villa and putting Cynthia to sleep.

They recalled their encounter at Sinclair Villa earlier that day. They both found the Sinclair family members' attitudes peculiar.

"I don't think Master Sinclair stays at Sinclair Villa very frequently. Did they bring her home just to send her away again?" Jennifer speculated.

"The internal dynamics of the Sinclair family are complex. Master Sinclair may not live as comfortable a life within the Sinclair family as outsiders believe," Zachary continued.

"Master Sinclair is a member of the Sinclair family. Why would they let her suffer after all they had done to bring her back?" Jennifer voiced her discontent. When she learned that Olivia had a solution to help her recover, she held Olivia in high regard.

Zachary shook his head and said, "We shouldn't meddle in the Sinclair family's affairs."

After a brief pause, he narrowed his eyes and added, "But if the Sinclair family knew how capable Master Sinclair is, they would probably regret their decisions."

Zachary believed that not only the Sinclair family, but also the Parker family, who raised Master Sinclair, would deeply regret their actions.

Though they did not actively seek information, they were aware that the Sinclair family had terminated a collaboration project with the Parker Group.

The Parkers had taken in children from the Sinclairs in the hopes of receiving some sort of reward. However, the two families did not appear to have become closer as a result, which puzzled them.

"In any case, we must show respect to Master Sinclair," Zachary insisted, convinced Olivia was their family's savior.

Zachary decided that anyone who dared to oppose Olivia would become an enemy of the Edwards family.

Jennifer went on to say, "I heard the Sinclair family is organizing a welcome banquet for Master Sinclair, and I plan to attend with a generous gift."
