Chapter 47 Nicola Reed

In the hospital bed, Nicole drifted once more into a haunting nightmare.

As the most beloved daughter of the Parker family, Nicole always got whatever she wanted.

She knew that the Parker family was not considered a top-tier dynasty, but that didn't change the fact that she was still envied among ordinary people.

Nicola Reed was her classmate. Initially, she only noticed Nicola because their names were very similar.

When she accidentally heard a classmate call another person by a familiar name, Nicole felt unhappy deep down.

Nicola came from a poor family, but she had the same name as her, which disgusted her. However, in order to maintain her good image among her classmates, Nicole did not show her aversion to Nicola. Instead, she claimed that it was fate. She just subtly hinted in her words that having almost the same name made it difficult for her to distinguish whether someone was calling her or Nicola, so she was a bit distressed.

The Jensen family had business dealings with the Parker family, and Fred Jensen was Nicole's friend. Fred had liked her since they were kids. As her loyal simp, when he heard about Nicole's "troubles," he naturally tried to comfort her first.

Fred started openly bullying Nicola. He would block her way to school with others, intentionally spill her food tray, and throw her desk, chair, and books into the trash.

Every time he saw Nicola looking miserable, he would mock her without hesitation.

Nicole's response to his "performance" was to pretend to be angry but say calmly, "Don't bully our classmate."

Her words were insignificant and completely unable to stop Fred from bullying Nicola. It even seemed like she was encouraging him in a different way.

Fred became more proactive in causing trouble for Nicola.

At first, Nicole didn't pay much attention to this small matter. Until one day, she suddenly realized that Fred was spending less and less time around her.
His daily messages showing concern for her also suddenly disappeared. Nicole didn't like Fred, but that didn't stop her from getting used to his eager attempts to please her.
She wanted to know the reason, so she took the initiative to pay attention to Fred's situation for the first time.

As a result, she stumbled upon that scene.

Fred pinned Nicola against the wall, his entire body tightly pressed against hers, ignoring her struggles, forcibly kissing her, murmuring, "Nicola, I like you. As long as you obey me, I won't bully you..."

Nicole initially thought that Fred was just playing games with Nicola, even considering her as a substitute for herself, until Nicole took the initiative to give him a chance to get closer to her, but Fred remained unaffected.

Later, Nicole jokingly asked him about Nicola.

Fred looked at her and said seriously, "Nicole, I might not be able to like you anymore in the future."

His feelings had shifted towards Nicola. He didn't view Nicola as a replacement for Nicole nor did he toy with her; he genuinely desired a romantic relationship with her.

Nicole found the situation absurd.

Despite being an abuser, Fred had developed genuine feelings for Nicola amidst his abusive behavior, even entertaining the idea of a romantic connection.

To Nicole, Fred was nothing more than a despicable fool.

While Nicole harbored no affection for Fred, she detested anyone attempting to claim what she deemed hers, even if it was something as insignificant as garbage.

Thus, she feigned happiness for Fred's supposed affection, even extending invitations to Nicola to join their social circle.

Nicole went to great lengths to appear caring towards Nicola in front of Fred, yet her actions towards Nicola concealed cruel intentions.

Despite Fred occasionally showing concern for Nicola's well-being, Nicole's deliberate harm towards Nicola went unnoticed by Fred.

Each time Nicola suffered, Nicole's remorse was short-lived, as Fred remained oblivious to her manipulative behavior.

Initially, Nicole just wanted to teach this person who dared to take her things a lesson.
But she didn't expect to accidentally discover that Nicola was pregnant, with Fred's child.

Nicole found it challenging to articulate her emotions upon learning this unexpected news. It was akin to discovering someone else's scent on a cherished toy she had possessed for years.

She perceived Fred as unclean, yet her animosity towards the person who had tarnished her possession ran even deeper.

Exploiting Nicola's vulnerable state due to her pregnancy, Nicole orchestrated a clandestine meeting in an empty classroom on the top floor.

She told her, "The reason why Fred treated you like that in the first place was because of me. I don't like others having the same name as me, so Fred took the initiative to bully you.

"Do you really think he liked you? He just wanted a substitute to vent and play with because I've been ignoring him.

"Nicola, although I apologize, you're just a substitute.

"He's really gone too far. He didn't need to go this far just to please me, to the point where you ended up getting pregnant..."

Nicola, grasping the truth behind her torment, harbored resentment towards both Fred and Nicole.

Tragically, Nicola experienced a miscarriage, leaving Nicole to grapple with the repercussions of her actions.

Nicole watched in horror as Nicola fell to the ground, blood flowing beneath her.

Her first instinct was to run.

Ignoring Nicola's pleading and desperate gaze, as well as her struggling hand reaching out for help, Nicole turned and ran, even subconsciously closing the door to the rooftop.

She made her way home, not telling anyone about Nicola's situation. It wasn't until the next day when news spread online that a girl, suspected to have attempted suicide due to underage pregnancy, was found on the rooftop of Haereth High School.

Fortunately, she was discovered in time, and her life was saved, but she lost the baby.

One day later, Nicole heard that Nicola had dropped out of school.

Since then, she hadn't heard any news about Nicola, and even Fred suddenly transferred to another school, but Nicole no longer cared about Fred at that time.

A year had passed, and Nicole was on the verge of forgetting Nicola's existence. She couldn't comprehend why Nicola had suddenly latched onto her.

Nicola's possible demise posed no relevance to Nicole. Regardless of Nicola's fate, it had no bearing on her.

She hadn't caused Nicola's death, so there was no reason for her to be held responsible.

Nicola's decision to involve herself with Fred and subsequently become pregnant was her own doing. Nicole didn't see it as her responsibility.

Nicola's miscarriage wasn't a consequence of Nicole's actions; it was simply a stroke of misfortune. Nicole couldn't understand why Nicola felt justified in tormenting her.

Nicole was once again awakened by Nicola in her dreams, only to realize it was a dream. Then, she woke up again to find it was still a dream. This process continued endlessly.

Desperately, Nicole shouted curses at the transformed Nicola in front of her, who had turned into David. "Nicola! What does your death have to do with me? It wasn't me who harmed you! Why do you have the right to torment me like this? Do you think you can scare me with this? Hayley! You're just a bitch who messed around with Fred! I'm not afraid of you! When my dad finds a powerful master, I will make sure he sends you to hell, bitch!"

As if her words had angered her, the Nicola in front of her suddenly turned into an incredibly monstrous figure.

This time, Nicole did not wake up again because Nicola reached out and directly strangled her neck.

She wanted her to never wake up again.
