Chapter 15
Isabella's POV.
My attention was completely drawn to this man. It was obvious that he should know something.
"Who the hell is my mother?" I snapped through the railing and caught his arm.
The man seemed startled, and all sorts of dirty words kept coming out of his mouth. But as I pressed, he stubbornly turned his head. No longer refused to say.
The other people in the cell saw this and started to get up in arms, and the scene gradually became uncontrollable. The guards also began to suggest that I leave. I could tell that even they couldn't listen to those words anymore.
Seeing this situation I just had to withdraw my hand and turn around and walk out of the cell.
My heart was racing and it was hard to regain my composure.
I recall those experiences when I was at White Birch Pack. Growing up I lived in an orphanage, and everyone there would always be told they were an orphan.
I don't think there's anything incomprehensible about that, it's just a fact. So I never wanted to know my parents' identity either.
As an ordinary person whose parents died, I grew up peacefully like that. It can be said that apart from the wolf waking up too early I am not different from other people.
But this incident today made me realize that maybe my background is not as simple as I thought. Both the attitude of this man today and Liam's attitude before were particularly strange.
Do I really have some kind of past?
What I could guess was that my mother might also be a so-called betrayer, and must have been a great embarrassment to them. This knowledge inexplicably gave me some excitement.
I suddenly remembered the undercover doctor Oliver. white Birch Pack is different from other wolf packs, they live alone in the deep mountains and hardly communicate with others, so they are completely lack of doctors. This directly leads to Oliver's high status in the White Birch Pack.
Therefore, he should know something that I never knew.
But he and I are not exactly close, and I am not at all comfortable asking him.
So, I turned to Elijah. i knew they must be best friends or he wouldn't have trusted each other to do such a thing.
For this matter, he agreed to be very quick.
"I'll ask Oliver about this for you. But he doesn't always know." Elijah thought for a moment.
"But if I hear anything, I'll be the first to pass it on."
I nodded my head. In fact, he can help me to ask I have been very happy, how can this kind of thing and really fully expect to get the answer?
Just as I was leaving Elijah's room to head to the training ground, a guard-like man stopped me.
"That friend of yours said she wanted to see you, and she said she had information about your mother. I didn't know whether to say no back, or thought it would be better to tell you."
I knew he was talking about Emma, but I didn't think Emma would have the face to see me by now. But since she said so, I couldn't refuse. I really wanted to know who my mother was so badly.
"Okay, I'll be right over." I promised the messenger and hurried over. I didn't even notice that his face was familiar, but I hadn't actually seen it for some days.
"Squeak." I pushed open the door to the cell.
It was a small separate cell, and that was the most kindness I could do for Emma.
But to my surprise. As soon as I entered the door, I saw Liam sitting there. And there was no Emma within my field of vision.
The guard lying on the ground had apparently passed out, his head gurgling with blood, and looked like he needed medical attention as soon as possible.
"It's been a long time." Liam even seemed to be in a good mood and greeted me. "It doesn't seem like you're too eager to meet me, huh?"
But looking at his expression, I knew that he was not in a good mood at the moment. Even the bottom of his eyes were full of fierceness.
Oh no!
I turned and sprinted desperately toward the house, but soon lost consciousness after a loud bang. The moment before I fell, I saw Emma's face. She raised her hand and a huge black shadow smashed into my forehead once more. I felt like my skull was going to be smashed by her.
Sure enough, these two people have been premeditated to trick me here and capture me!
Elijah's POV.
"Do you know anything about Isabella's parents?" I got Oliver a glass of wine.
He looked at me quizzically, then shook his head.
"I'm afraid I don't know as much as you do. I haven't been there long, and not everything is known to me, but I have a suspicion about this matter." He took the wine from my hand and finished it quickly as if to brace himself.
"I've heard from the White Birch Pack people that each new breeder is not chosen at random. Because if that were the case, it would be a waste of their excellent bloodline. So actually most of the breeders are the daughters of the previous breeders. According to this deduction, her mother should be ......" He looked like he obviously didn't want to recall this matter very much.
I interrupted Oliver, and I didn't dare to go on thinking about it.
I knew her past could be bad, but I didn't expect such cruelty to be behind this event.
"So it's up to you to decide if you want to tell her." Oliver changed his story.
I nodded my head. I knew that I couldn't let her check it out anymore.
If she finds out, I fear she will be hit even harder. She's already suffering from those nightmares from the White Birch Pack, and she can't take any more damage. I don't want her to really break down.
I had to tell her this news right away to stop her next move. I knew that she had been dealing with those birch wolves lately, trying to get the truth about her birth from their mouths.
So I quickly ran back to her place, but she wasn't home.
I went back to the training ground immediately afterwards. The female warriors were busy training, but there was still no sign of Isabella.
I'm a little anxious.
Maria saw me and quickly ran over to greet me.
"What brings you here? Are you here to see Isabella? Today I we haven't seen her today either. But she's been so busy with all those White Birch Pack members lately, could it be ......"
I suddenly had a bad feeling. The alpha of that wolf pack was still out there fleeing, and he was the one who took Isabella as an enemy. By doing this now, she is undoubtedly putting herself in danger indeed.
"In that case, it looks like there was someone who took her with him! That person also said he was a new guard ......"
"But actually, it's a completely new face." Maria's face also darkened.
I couldn't hear anything else at this moment and quickly ran towards the cell.
I hope that it will never be anything bad.
"alpha...... that Emma is gone too!" A guard came running in a hurry. "Someone's been knocked out! Just sent to treatment!"
"There were signs of several people fighting in the house!"
"Something's wrong." Wolf muttered in my head. "Looks like she's been taken by this Emma."
I forced myself to be calm and tried to use the mate link to get to her. But no matter how much I screamed, my mind was empty.
I couldn't reach her at all.
My heartbeat sped up and my vision became blurry, as if something in my heart had been dug down and taken away.
Isabella's POV.
I slowly regained consciousness.
The pain in my body was still too much for me to ignore. So I just lay there on the floor and didn't move at all. Until I completely figure out what this is all about, I think I'll ......
"Ah!" I shrank into a ball in pain. I don't know why, but someone actually kicked me hard in the stomach!
"If you're awake, get up, and don't act like you're soft. We all know what kind of a character you are!" I heard Emma's sarcastic voice.
I slowly opened my eyes.
The two people sitting in front of me made me panic, why Liam and Emma?
I sat up and leaned back hard. What should I do?
"If it isn't Luna from Green Creek Pack. My noble Excellency." Liam used a mocking tone as he sat on the rock and looked me up and down.
"Since you've fallen into our hands, don't expect to have a good time."
"You, traitor!" Emma echoed, tugging at my hair. I pushed her aside with one hand.
Immediately afterwards, Liam stepped forward and grabbed me by the throat with a death grip. He violently lifted me up and viciously slammed me towards a nearby rock.
"Has anyone ever told you that I hate betrayal very much? You traitor! Fucking bitch!"
My mind was confused, but my instincts from years of training made me grab his arm in a death grip. Immediately after, I used my inertia to fling myself to the side and dislike him with another elbow to the stomach.
Although I also fell on the stone, but knocked on that sharp corner of the person instead of him.
He planted himself on the ground and looked at me with dead eyes, as if he was looking at some terrible monster. Immediately afterwards, however, he laughed exaggeratedly.
Emma rushed to help him up, as humble as dust.
"This time I kind of know, the last time that warrior was really killed by you, you are very good at ah, actually put their strength so long, but no wonder. Who told you to be a traitor's child? I should have strangled you to death!"
Hearing that again, I froze in my tracks.
It's not the first time someone has called my mother a traitor. And he continued to chant as if he was possessed.
"Sure enough, you're all bitches! Surely the child of a traitor is also a traitor! The traitor who gave birth to you is also a breeder, what an honor! But she ran away with a male witch! But the Moon Goddess didn't treat me badly, these two fell like meatloaf under the cliff ...... I swear to the Moon God, I will make you die, worse than them!"
I suddenly thought of the two bones at the bottom of the hill.
The two of them were clinging to each other, and one of them was a wizard. At the time, Elijah and I were particularly curious as to why there were still male witches in werewolf territory.
Could it be that my mother and father are really both of them?
